Cheese steak with Cheese Wiz

NE PA eat their scrumptious cheese steaks with Scamutz cheese, and may be topped with “red sauce”. After reading this restaurant’s reviews, I tried the “Whiz”. It was very good. Also, it was the 1st time I used Uber Eats. It was all a great experience. The app tells who is delivering, exactly when they’re arriving, and it allows consumers to pay online. Delivery only thru Uber Eats. I gave the driver an extra tip for delivering the food, warm, during COVID times.

Best Cheesesteaks We’ve Ever Had!

Best cheesesteaks we’ve ever had! Always a must stop when we visit the area- they use 100% ribeye on fresh bread. Add your favorite accompaniments and some freshly made french fries. It doesn’t get any better than this!

Toyota oilchange and a cheese steak.....

Waiting to change oil in my Land Cruiser ,got hungry ,even the time was 11.10 A,M. Got around the corner to Gentile from Philly . They cook steaks sandwiches the way you like it ! Grilled onions,Wiz,American cheese,provolone,marinara sauce hot or sweet peppers and more. I got one ,cheese and extra onion with fry's well done and sweet peppers.. The steak was juicy ,flavorful, added some black pepper to my steaming fry's. What a show? Diet Coke ? Over 1/2 a litter bottle? Yep. I paid cash. I learned ,this young couple from Philly knows their trade . The cook in the back ,short but close to the chopping, turning and assembling your steak . Well done and thank you. I 'll BE BAACK ! Toyota bill ,$ 686.38.

She just wanted a Philly Cheesesteak... So, I got myself up out of the lazy boy and phoned GENTILE'S. The phone rang and then it went BUSY. Great! They're back in town. After 5 more attempts with busy tones I drove to their place of "business". As I walked in the "gentleman" who came out front said, " we're sold out." Not, hello or how are you. I replied that I had called and the phone was always busy. "Sorry, we're sold out". How does a fast food "restaurant" sell out before closing time? So, I drove to Pizza Della Noona, located at 8383 S. Tamiami Tr. (941) 925-2490 and ordered two of their delicious Italian Subs with fries. They always answer their phone.

Perfect Philly cheesesteak made by real Philadelphians

Who wouldn't love a perfect Philly cheesesteak made by real Philadelphians who know how to do it right? This place is authentic down to the chairs, tables, old deli sign, and tons of Philadelphia memorabilia all over the walls. This is the real deal in taste, atmosphere, and great service. Mind you, the place was busy, but the only suggestion is that they need a better sign visible from the main road in both directions because we almost missed it driving past. Even a sandwich board sign (pun intended) with balloons. Awesome food and staff. Highly recommend

Delicious Cheesesteaks

I ordered the "usual for me", a cheesesteak with fried onions and provolone cheese. The sandwich was overfilled with tender juicy steak and was delicious. The roll (Philly Amoroso), held up well with the juicy ingredients inside. The shop is bright and cheerful and has at least six tables for seating. The bathrooms are especially clean, which is a indicator of how the owners feel in terms of cleanliness. I would definitely suggest this place to anyone who is looking for an excellent steak sandwich.

Gentiles just does it better

Finally authentic! I’ve had Cheesesteaks in Philly many times but have since moved to Florida. These are great! Famous Cheesesteaks are awful and Joey Ds, South Philly, and a few other competitors are pretty good but Gentile brothers are the only real deal in the area- especially their original Sarasota location. The owners are from there and they do them up the way they should be done. Sooooooooo good. Just do it!

Excellent Cheesesteaks!

The cheesesteaks are delicious! The rib eye steak was so tender and the authentic steak rolls were pillowy and fresh. The staff was helpful and friendly, too. Well worth our 45 minute drive. An all around great experience!

I don’t know how we didn’t discover this place sooner. It is a favorite of locals! My husband gets the cheesesteak with provolone and hot peppers. I get the chicken cheesesteak with provolone and sweet peppers. Delicious! The sandwiches are big. I highly recommend this authentic Philly cheesesteak spot in Sarasota!

Good cheesesteak from a tough critic

Living the majority of my life in Philly, I know a good cheesesteak from a less than good. Gentile's does a nice job capturing the taste of Philly. Is it the very best I ever had? No. But it's respectable and they earn extra points for all the Philly memorabilia on the walls. Definitely worth a try.

Philly in Florida!

Great experience and terrific cheesesteak. I'm originally from Philly and this was authentic. The owner was friendly and we talked about "the good old days growing up in Philly." It's more of a small takeout place so don't expect a fine dining experience.

I’ll start this by saying I’ve never been to Philly so take my review with a grain of salt. I came here on a week day for lunch as I had just picked my car up from the mechanic nearby. I ordered a steak and cheese with American cheese , lettuce and pickles. To my dismay they don’t have pickles. Once ready I took my sandwich to go. Unfortunately by the time I got home about twenty minutes later it was soggy. So again probably not the best representation. If I ate it at the restaurant it probably wouldn’t have been soggy. But I got to add my own pickles at home. The taste was average to me.

Great Philly in Florida

Noticed the Steak Shop while taking my car to a nearby dealer for service. Wandered over and ordered a cheesesteak, “wit” and mushrooms plus a side of onion rings and a soda. Everything was terrific bringing back many pleasant memories of the loads of cheesesteaks consumed at various shops in Philadelphia years ago. The roll was super fresh, the steak and toppings hit the spot. Great lunch spot, will return whenever in the area.
