Menu items seem pricey until they arrive. Attention to quality, culinary care and presentation makes everything worth it. Selection of oysters excellent: arrive afloat in the shell in natural waters ready to slip without work totally whole through your lips and into total taste and pleasure. Charred Octopus as our 2nd course was so delightful we had it again as our 3rd course. Wine list pricey but good. Service attentive and friendly but with a few too many tables to deal with.

Veronica's has one of those menus where you wish you could eat 3 or 4 entrees instead of just one. We started off with 2 dozen oysters for 3 of us. All we requested was oysters that are "fat and sweet." Wow! Whoever blinked missed the oysters because we inhaled them. They were as tasty as we have ever had. We tried the redfish and scallops entrees along with 3 sides. The chef demonstrated culinary alchemy, turning often unexciting brussel sprouts into a side dish that was fantastic. The bread pudding dessert was heaven in a copper skillet. Overall, Veronica's delivered in a way that threatens the existence of all of its competitors -- not kidding!

We tried Veronica’s for the first time last night, on New Year’s Eve. From the time we sat down to the time we left, our server, Katie, took wonderful care of us. Her knowledge of the menu, and overall enthusiasm for the restaurant and our experience in it were first rate. Our meals — from the surf and turf to the whole fish El Greco — were delicious and impeccably prepared. The appetizer we shared, smoked salmon, was both delicious and beautifully presented. And the salads and produce beautiful and tasty as well. We highly recommend Veronica’s for a regular weeknight meal, or for a holiday like when we were there, on New Year’s Eve.

6 of us had dinner last night.
The fish dinners were overcooked and dry.
The fried chicken special was hard as a brick.
The server (female long blonde hair) was hyper, loud and rushed us.
Big disappointment.
Do better please.

We have gone to Veronicas over the years, since they opened, we always enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service. BUT tonite was a total disappointment. The music was too loud. And too agitating, not soothing for a refined restaurant. The service was poor. Our waitress acted as though we were a nuisance, rarely checked on us. The oysters were excellent, salad was good, good wine list but the entrees were lacking. Korean pancakes, no flavor with over cooked ahi tuna , with tiny pieces of scallops in the underdone pancakes. The manager never approached us to see how are meal was. Won’t go back ever.

We had dinner here last night. We have wanted to try it for sometime. I have to say I can away disappointed. First the waiter was simply not very good. He bordered on being flat out rude. One person in our party ordered the special fish stew. He specifically asked for extra octopus. What he got was one single piece of octopus, a number of potatoes, in an otherwise good dish. When the waiter came back to see how we liked the entrees my friend said “I asked for heavy on the octopus and had only one piece” the waiter actually huffed and walked away without a word. I ordered the redfish which was a nice piece of fish but the preparation was nothing special. A few pieces of lump crabmeat over a rather large amount of arugula and mint. It was nothing to get excited about and in my view way overpriced.

Our first time to Veronica Fish & Oyster, the week of 3/9/20. We had a very delightful server, she was very knowledgeable with the menu. Two of us selected the Whole Fish (Red Snapper) which was "Market Price". Living in Florida for 30+ years...I assumed the Red Snapper would be in the $32-$38 price range. Our server did not include prices with the nightly specials...and to be fair, I did not ask.
After having a delicious meal, with desert, our bill was presented. To my astonishment, the Whole red Snapper was $55.00 each!! I could have gone to another fine dining establishment up the street an ordered a Veal Chop for less than this.
Needless to say...we are "one & done" with Veronica Fish & Oyster. Buyer Beware!!

We were early at 5pm to avoid the crowds. Hubby heard about it and was eager to try it. We were not disappointed. At first entry it reminded me of one of the fine restaurants we used to go to in NYC-chic yet having its own distinct personality. I love restaurants with their own personalities and avoid chain restaurants like the plague. I loved it as soon as we set foot. Service is deluxe from the hostess to the servers to the manager who took our pic. I ordered the halibut and fried oyster. I enjoy food and I admire the artistry of the presentation of the food. The oyster had a seafood flavor with a burnt lemon as garnish. It is a perfect compliment to the halibut with sweet corn and green collards. We waited slightly which tells me the food is fresh and cooked from scratch. The halibut is cooked to perfection with a fine hint of spices, the collards were strongly flavored that combined evenly with the fish. As we wound down dinner, the server brought out some chocolate mousse with a birthday candle which ended the evening with a nice touch. I enjoyed the light and airy decor. The bar is fully stocked and gave a nice late night dinner ambience even though we were eating at 5pm. I enjoyed the whole experience from our special occasion, to the exquisite food, to the impeccable service to the chic and upscale yet also welcoming decor. A wonderful treasure of a restaurant! My hubby felt very special on his special day! Highly recommend it!

Mainly seafood, very good selection and excellent preparation and execution. The service fell short, however...maybe it was an off night or they were short staffed, as our waiter was certainly professional and experienced--yet unattentive. This is not an inexpensive place, so one would not expect to have to pour your own wine, chase someone do down to order and refill your water glass, and bring silverware once the table is served.

Stopped by Veronica’s on a Saturday night. All of the customers who went into the resteraunt to check on a table wore a mask. We were greated by a hostess and the manager who are maskless. I saw waiters walking around without masks. We did not feal comfortable in staying so we left. I commented to the manager on the way out that I was suprised he was not wearing a mask. His response was that he did not have to wear a mask and no one should wear a mask. Needless to say I was very taken back by his attitude. We went to another restaurant down the street and had a delightful dinner in an environment where I felt safe.

first l want to thank the complete staff for the up beat presentation of welcoming my wife and friend for dinner. second, Adam our waiter was just impeccable about his knowledge of the menu and his kind personality. finally . the food was superb . some selections oysters, mussels, and mixed lettuce with combine Caesar salad. all was delicious. Highly recommend!!

We love this place and dine here regularly..Their oysters and fish are the best in Sarasota but the Fish and Chips last night (2/11/20) were a disaster..The fish was great but the batter was wet and soggy ruining the entire dish..There were six of us and four had the Fish and Chips and agreed. Maybe a new fish cook. We will try again in a few weeks

Came in town for the weekend and decided to try out Veronica's. Best decision ever! CB was our waiter and my husband actually said that's the best waiter we have ever had. Since it was our 1st visit, he took his time to highlight some things on the menu (in great detail), and then told us some of his favorites (when I asked). He even offered to get me another cocktail if I didnt like the special that he had recommended. After selecting our dishes, he asked if he could bring them out in stages since we were going to share everything...perfect! We had a couple of small plates (crab and avocado dip, scallops and wild mushrooms) and then the mahi BLT burger with the house fries. Everything was so good we talked about going back again before we leave town...which we may do (only of CB is working though)! I would have given the restaurant 4 stars bc of the great ambiance and food, but bc of CB it gets 5 stars!

We dined last night and it was very enjoyable . Good people watching but a bit loud . The server had trouble explaining the specials over the music . He suggested the Red fish which I ordered . It was superb ! I disagree with one reviewer who wished the dish had a starch . One can always order a side of fries or vegetable . The arugula salad was very tasty and did not overpower the delicious fish which was not overdone . My wife had the Halibut which was spicy and to her liking. We split a dozen oysters first and a bottle of Zinfandel . The wine list is reasonably priced. Wish I had read the view about the chocolate mousse. The berries were lousy. It’s strawberry season ; no excuse for poor quality strawberries. Our service was excellent and all in all a fun night out . Would recommend this to anyone.

The food was great but if you want to feel safe during the pandemic this is not the place for you. Most of the staff, bartenders managers and hostess do not wear masks. The tables are too close together. We won’t be going back, even after the pandemic. They obviously don’t care about my health or safety.

We apologize that you did not feel safe during your visit with us- All staff approaching tables including servers, food runners, bussers, general manager etc wear masks at all times, and while we have done the best we can to distance our seating some tables are unfortunately bolted to the ground which makes them rather difficult to move. We have increased our outdoor seating capacity by 50% on weekends and busy evenings and whenever deemed necessary, we sanitize every table and chair between guests, and are doing our best during this trying time. We are sorry we did not earn your patronage for future visits, we are glad you enjoyed out chef crafted cuisine, and we wish you all the health and regards in the new year. Thank you for the imput, be well and happy holidays.
