Showed up without a reservation, but we're seated outside almost immediately. Excellent service. They are moving to a new location 4 blocks east on Clark that will more than double their seating capacity. They will have no problem filling the new location.

We went with another couple for the first time to this restaurant. The service was excellent but I would say that the food was average. The guacamole was good but not great. The enchalada platter was good but the rice that came with it was dry. The chips that came with the salsa weren't authentic. Overall, we had a decent,... More

Went with friends to El Toro and had fantastic tacos and enchiladas. Prices were very reasonable, beer was ice cold, and the food was fantastic. If you are craving Mexican in Sarasota, look no further. It looks like they will be moving from their current location soon so call ahead and make sure you have up-to-date directions.

I have never needed reservations for Mexican but a combo of location, size and quality make it a must at this place. Ruben our chef/waiter was taking care of us. We arrived with no reservations but open outside table locked it in. Cheese dip was excellent, fajita steak burrito was amazing and beef taco salable was delectable. Could of used... More

We came to Siesta Keys for spring break and our driver recommended this Mexican place. It is quaint and appears to be family owned. The staff was friendly, but the most important thing is the FOOD IS AMAZING!! Make sure to call for reservations. There was a wait on a Tuesday night at 6:00. Oh, and for you true southern's....they... More

First, my wife and I have always enjoyed Mexican food. I’ve been fortunate to have been able to travel and enjoy it in California and Texas. One of my favorite stops is in McAllen which is on the Rio Grande, across from the Mexican city of Reynosa. I don’t claim to be an “expert” on Mexican food, but I know... More

This is a small place in a strip mall but don't let that stop you from going here. This is the BEST Mexican restaurant in Sarasota! Huge portions ( you will have leftovers for tomorrow's lunch). Authentic food. Very friendly servers and owner actually visits each table to make sure food is to your liking. Had steak fajitas and they... More

Having grown up in a multi diverse/ethnic area with several Mexican neighbors I take exception to Karen/Austin's review. Everyone is entitled absolutely to their point of view. That being said to infer that those of us who happen to love El Toro Bravo really don't know good tex mex food is both insulting and disingenuous. Stick to reviewing the food... More

If you are looking for a good quality, generous portions you will not be disappointed. Having grown up in Texas I feel that I can rate Mexican food. Also, my hobby is cooking and tasting great food. If you do not have a history with Mexican food then you may find the food here fabulous, the best as rated by... More
