Excellent Food

I have never been to this restaurant and I’m so happy my friend suggested it. Love that it offers tapas (small portions) because I can’t eat large portions …. The best part is the smaller portion was not overpriced - I felt it was appropriate for the dish I ordered which was braised short rib over three cheese ravioli with a lamb Demi glacé. Absolutely phenomenal dish. The short rib was tender, juicy and had a flavorful and robust sauce. The ravioli was cooked perfectly, not soft but not too al dente. I’d rate my dish a 5 out of 5. My friend had the roll n bake sushi. She said that it was delicious and would rate it a 4 out of 5 Our server was efficient and very courteous ! Left a 25% cash tip for her. Will definitely return when I’m in town again

Very tasty food

If food taste is the reason to favor a restaurant then this place is right up there with the best. On a warm February day we ate outdoors here and enjoyed ourselves, admiring the tasty food along with some people watching. Good service too and ample street parking. Our timing was good, coming at happy hour with discounted prices.

Yummy and Great Fish

Ate here with a group of friends and started with the sushi. The sushi was just ok - the fish part was good but the rice was rather mushy. I won't go here for sushi, but we also had the poke bowl which was great!! Then we ordered some small plates and I had the "Kevin" which is blackened red fish with grits and black eye peas. It was DIVINE and I'm thinking of going back just to have that again!! The wine selection is quite nice too so overall a good dining experience.

Forgot to Place Order Rude Manager

We were vacationing in St Pete and stopped in to eat at The Lure. They had great indoor and outdoor seating. They have a large menu. We ordered drinks, one if the taco dinners and a poke' bowl. This is a Tapas restaurant which means they bring out each dish as it is ready instead of holding plates until all items for the table are ready. My tacos came out promptly and first so I started eating. 30 minutes in, we asked about my companions poke'. I had finished my 3 tacos and wine at this point. The waiter apologized for the delay and said he would check. 5 minutes later, still now sign of our waiter. We asked the hostess to have the manager come by. It took another 10 minutes for the manager to come by. We explained the situation. His response "did your waiter explain how tapas works?". We said yes, we eat at tapas restaurants often in Atlanta. I told the manager we think the waiter accidently didn't enter my partners order. We were pleasant but firm in that we were not happy. The manager rudely replaid "the waiter did not forget your order". There was no apology or concession of a possible error on the waiter or apology for the kitchen being slow. Toward the end of the short conversation his food finally showed up. We asked the manager if he could comp some part of our check. He said "no". We left at that point. It is sad the service was so bad since my tacos were quite tasty.

Went to the Lure for Sunday

Went to the Lure for Sunday brunch with my daughter. Seated immediately. She ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon; I ordered classic eggs Benedict with tater tots. Her entree came out without the side. Told her to start eating. Then her bacon (mostly fat) came out five minutes later and my order came out 10 minutes later. My food was luke warm and the tater tots were inedible due to salt. $10 margaritas were average. Mimosa tasted like flat champagne. Waitress takes orders for drinks and food and then others deliver to table. What restaurant delivers entrees piecemeal?

Good food with great flavor combinations

The Lure is a busy eatery with a variety of interesting dishes from sushi rolls to tapas and tacos. It sounds like a strange combination, but it works. Everything is prepared fresh and the combination of flavors is unique. I really enjoyed the The Kevin and the Spicy Tuna Roll.

Lure was a Trip highlight

The menu is varied, portions are excellant and suit all tastes. Happy hour prices are very competitive and great value. From flat breads to tapas to sushi to poke bowls its just a great place to eat. Good choice of beverages and beware of the classic drinks St Petersburg slease or zombie theres lots of rum! Service was friendly and quick.

Excellent sushi and tapas

I've been here several times and never had a bad meal. The scallops over vanilla sweet mashed potatoes are amazing. I've had various sushi rolls, seaweed salad, bruschetta and rosemary fries and would highly recommend them all! Interesting menu, great food, reasonable prices. This place is a "must try" for St. Pete

Sit inside

Would not recommend sitting outside. We were sitting alone eating, not engaging with anyone walking by. Homeless man came to our table pulled back a chair at our table asking my husband to "come on P@$$y come fight me" mumbling incoherent words and came back a second time clearly not in his right state of mind. We moved inside after the second time he came up. Awesome service 10/10 recommend the server and young man who I believe was the the busser that came out to ask the man to step away, manager just said" oh you are going inside" . Sushi was excellent (loved the tangy sauce thar came with Hamachi roll) .

Go for the Lava Drops Immediately!

I had not been to The Lure in a couple of years, so it was nice to go back for a delicious dinner, great service, and good vibes. Our party consisted of myself, my husband, our teenage son, and a friend. We started our meal with an order of the Lava Drops, which were absolutely delicious – they were so good, that we ordered a 2nd order of the appetizer because everyone wanted another bite! We ordered (3) rolls – 1) That’s Amore, 2) Rock Mambo, and 3) Spicy Tuna. All three rolls were tasty with one critique – the spicy tuna needed a little more kick to make it spicy. The Lure’s Happy Hour goes from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., which we loved – just enough time to get there for a 6:30 p.m. dinner and squeeze in a HH cocktail. My margarita was fresh and nicely made. Parking in downtown St. Pete is challenging and The Lure does not have a parking lot, so make sure to add 15 minutes to your plans to find a parking spot. Service was friendly and quick… but not too quick! We never felt rushed. Anastasia, our server, was informative, fun, and laidback – we loved her!

Kani salad yum! Gyoza double yum!

I started out with kani salad. This was not on the menu. You have to ask for it. It was so delicious. I can’t believe they don’t put it on the menu. ! I then ordered the “not your Tampa roll”, Gyoza with a spicy Korean barbecue dipping sauce, And then I also ordered the lava drops. They were delicious.! Everything was good. I will definitely be back.

Eclectic tasty menu, prompt service

Beautifully decorated with an eclectic tasty menu and friendly prompt service. There's a bar, a pool table and a fun upbeat environment. My food was foodie delicious. Honestly I was quite surprised by the entire experience. The other diners were as casual as could be but the food quality, environment and staff were five stars. So glad my uber driver recommended this place. Great for a fun hang out with friends.

Glad we stopped for a bite here!

This was our first time afoot in St. Pete. The ladies were shopping and the men were looking for a beer and a bite. We found The Lure! There we got some nice beers, and the vibe there was eclectic. A great bar scene and an interesting menu. Lots of tapas and other great looking food available from a large menu. Prices right and great service. The ladies agreed when they joined us. Good for singles or couples.

Fun cafe, restaurant and bar in trendy area in St. Petersburg

We found this outdoor café and decided to stop for lunch. Very interesting menu with American style brunch, sushi, Spanish style tapas and cocktails. Service was good and atmosphere was very nice. It's on a street with a large strip of restaurants and interesting boutique style stores and cafes. Great for people watching. Inside is also a nice bar with two billiard tables.

Such a pleasant surprise

Dropped in last minute Valentines Day. Food was great! Service was great! Will try again! I had the volcano roll and it was phenomenal. My wife is vegan so she found a bowl she could eat. We were both happy with our meals.
