The place is a hole in the wall, kinda like I imagine most small British pubs, but they have the best Brit pub food in St Pete AND at the best prices.
Crisp, light battered fish and frozen but decent steak fries. If they made their own with the skin on, I would be there once a week. Try the Steak and Ale pie. The pastry is crisp and flaky and the gravy is rich and yummy. This dish came with a side of veg, which we expected to be frozen and steamed, but it was fresh and stir fried, served crunchy and delicious.
The owner suggested we try his scratch made, slow rise, sour dough bread. At 6 bucks, it wasn't cheap but there is no comparison to grocery store bakery bread. Crunchy crust, chewy inside and all around amazing. The kind of bread you tear off chunks and eat with cheese and wine. Highly recommend!

I have been here several times now and have never been disappointed. Everything is so fresh and flavorful. Peter, the owner and chef, takes great pride in his restaurant and always comes out from the kitchen to make sure everything is to your satisfaction. Cynthia was our waitress each time and she remembered us and our beverage order. She is also very attentive and friendly.

The huge personal care taken with all of the housemade food is evident in every bite. Very authentically British. Great, knowledgable service. Interior is very cute. The outside seating could be dressed up a little. Very reasonable prices.
We will definitely return.

Jack’s is a wonderful British pub in North St. Pete. I’ve enjoyed it on several occasions. But if you catch it on the wrong night, as I did, it is bad! Really bad.
To start with their keg system was down. No draft beer. They only had 3-4 selections of bottled beer. The server said they had a busy weekend because of a British soccer game on TV and their delivery truck hadn’t brought more beer. But the soccer game was five days ago, which means Jack’s had been out of most beers for that long.
My wife and daughter ordered iced teas. When they asked for refills, the server said Jacks was out of tea. Then she told us they couldn’t make more because the tea brewers had to be cleaned. “They we’re too gross and disgusting to brew more tea without cleaning.” That’s all we’ll and good. But it means my family was served “gross and disgusting “ tea, in the server’s words. I actually asked for a price adjustment on the tea and the server said she could not do that since she already rang it in.
My meal, a usually delicious steak and ale pie, came out cold. The mixed vegetables were soggy and overcooked.
Jack’s is usually a wonderful restaurant. I think I caught it on a bad night. But you should be warned
if you dine there on a bad night, you will have an equally poor experience.

I thought that I had walked into a British pub. I have driven by this location for several years and wanted a bit of light fare in the late afternoon. Very full menu with so much to offer. I opted for the fish and chips sandwich. This was not a filet o fish this was the real big piece of fish that hung over both sides of the fresh brioche bun. I am not a tarter sauce fan but the homemade product was delightful. Nice full size chips. Now I want to go back for a cup of French Onion Soup, which I am told is the best in town. If you are on I-275 skirting the area put the address in the GPS and stop in for a meal that you will enjoy. Prices were pretty good, too!

I wish I could give Jacks London Grill a rating of 5 because the fish and crisps deserve a good rating.
However, when ordering the fish and chips I asked to substitute crisps for the chips. I was told that there would be an up-charge. Not that it mattered, but I always ask....I was told $1.00. When the bill came it was $2.00 but I did not notice until well after leaving the restaurant.
When it came time to pay, the waitress picked up my credit card and, after more than 15 minutes I flagged down another employee to seek their assistance in completing the transaction.
I did not notice at the time but there is also a discount for paying cash...in other words a penalty for using your credit card.
Also relating to the financial end of things, they supply tipping suggestions but completely ignore the traditional 15% as a choice. On the positive side of this, their suggestions were figured on the total of food and drink and not on the sales tax as one sees at so many restaurants.
I would recommend going there for the food BUT be more aware of the items above. I wasn't but it was because I was visiting with cousins that I had not seen in 3 years.

Sorry for any mis-hap.
We always strive to achieve excellence.
However, to be clear, the cash payment option is actually the full bill discounted by 3%. (Passing on the merchant processing fee saving to our guests who pay cash)
Either way we appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you again.

This place is amazing. I'd never heard of it until a coworker mentioned how good it was and we decided to try it out. It doesn't look like anything special from the outside, but looks can be deceiving. I noticed that the owner was going from table to table talking with his customers. When he got to us, we told him it was our first visit and he said that everything on the menu is freshly made. He also sent us some freshly baked bread with garlic butter. It was delicious. We started with the shepard's fries. They were chips (french fries to Americans) covered in gravy, shepard's pie meat and cheese. Really good. My husband ordered the fish and chips and I had bangers and mash. His came with the biggest piece of fish I've ever seen and there was enough to share. Delicious. My bangers and mash was equally as good and the sausages tasted like home. Also big enough to share. We finished up with the sticky toffee pudding and to no one's surprise, it was fantastic. I highly recommend Jack's London Grill. Stop by and say hello to the owner, Peter. You'll be glad you did.

We were not sure if Jack’s would be open because of the Stay at Home order, but to our delight, we got our fish and chip fix takeaway!
They have been busy to the point of unable to answer the phone to take your order. However, you can order when you get there, and have a pint outside on their deck (standing only and keeping social distancing) while you wait for your takeout order.
Very quick.

We went to Jack’s because it was recommended by a lady at the post office (was mailing a box home) and the food was absolutely delicious! It start raining extremely heavily and the road in front of the restaurant flooded. We were stuck at the restaurant for about 2 hours while we waited for the flooding to subside a bit and the staff were all super friendly and accommodating while we waited. We enjoyed watching cars attempt to make it through the flooded street. 🤣 I highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back next time we visit the area.

We had been coming here for many years as the food is consistantly top rate.
Due to covid we only did curbside close to our home. Then we saw the various meat pies were available for takeout and cooked at home. How wonderful to taste that delicious food that we had missed for almost a year. We ordered one steak and ale and 2 chicken, brie and leek pies which came with veggies and garlic butter and sourdough bread. Thanks Peter for making this happen!

At the risk of being the guy that tells you the food here reminds him of a place he visited, I have to admit something. If you have ever been to London, and I don't mean a rushed few days before you left to go somewhere else; but if you've ever had the good fortune to spend weeks, months even, in London, then you will savor the food here. The scotch egg was perfect. My friend lived in a flat above Michael Caine's restaurant and swore she'd had the Steak and Ale Pie before. I had the Fish and Chips and I can see why people rave about Jacks London Grill. On Clifton Rd in the Maida Vale section of London, the Eagle serves Fish and Chips that are almost as good. And if you don't order the crisps ( their handmade potato chips) you will never forgive yourself. Service was cordial and efficient, but most of all, Florida friendly. And our chat with the chef made it even better! Well Done!

If you are visiting St.Petersburg you must visit Jack's London Grill. I went to Jack's with my family, and I was blown away with the friendliness of the owner and staff. Jacks has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere!! I ordered the fish n' chips, which is by far the best I've ever had!! Fish n' chips is a must when you go. The fish is 100% haddock cut into 8 to 12 oz portions, so i massive piece of fish companied by hand-cut chips! Just wonderful!! We sampled the baked brie as well, it is brie cheese stuffed in a puff-pastry served warm. The owner Jack had us try a Belgium chocolate ice cream, it is was an excellent way to end a meal. All the items we had were made by hand by the owner Jack himself, and I forgot to mention Jack is a native of England as well, so you will get an authentic English experience!! 5 out of 5!! I look forward to returning to Jacks in the near future!!

Stopped here after picking up our off airport rental car. And WOW! Amazing food. British husband loved the Steak and Ale Pie and the Fish and Chips were the best we’ve had in the US. I had the Bangers ‘N Mash which were also delicious. All of the pies are handmade in house as are the banger sausages. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area - and worth a drive if you are not!

Our son and his wife were visiting from CA, so we drove to the Dali Museum in St. Pete, but before going dove into TA to find a place for lunch. Settled on Jacks, and glad we did. A small pub, in a mixed neighborhood, Maybe the best pub food we've ever had, and that includes Ireland and Scotland. French onion soup, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, fish and chips were all excellent, as was the one creme brûlée we split four ways with dueling spoons. Our waitress was friendly and turned out to belong to the same clan as our family. Just sorry we won't be there for the haggis dinner on Robert Burns Night this coming weekend. Locals must love this place.

Last October 2019 my son and I flew to London for a football game. We stayed for one week and ate at several different establishments while there. We tried out their famous Fish and Chips at two different establishments and unfortunately we were not impressed. We heard about JACKS a few weeks ago and gave it a try today. We were very surprised by the meals being hand made. This establishment greatly outweighs the meals we had in London. The Fish and Chips had plenty of fish with light breading just the opposite of what we had in London. The menu provides a good variety of meals for just about anyone with a nice PUB feel. The service was very good with cheerful helpful people. This was our first time here but definitely will not be the last.
