Great food, but rude staff.

I went there for lunch with friends and let me start by saying the food is awesome! The sandwich was great, the spring rolls were delicious, and the crab meatloaf although small very good. However, the server was very short with us and had no interest in my questions. Before leaving we ordered some boba tea to go, one of our orders was incorrect and I literally had to hunt down the server to get it fixed because she avoided our table. Then she made up excuses about how it was really what we chose instead of her writing down the order incorrectly. I would go back again but I would just have a different server.

Great Vietnamese restaurant

The service was good. They were very attentive ave checked on us often. I ordered the crepe fur an appetizer...fantastic! My daughter and her friend ordered Pho, each bowl was enough to feed 2, they had different soup bases, but they both said they were very good. I had the fusion fried rice with shrimp. It was a generous portion. Would definitely recommend.

We ate there twice during our visit. The food was wonderful. Tried a few different dishes and they were all excellent. Restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside but it’s got a good ambience. Prices are good. It’s actually less expensive than most restaurants downtown. One negative is they seem to be a little short on waitstaff both times we went there.

Flies everywhere!

Fleury flies are everywhere here! In your drinks, in your food. I stopped counting at eight buzzing around. I have been to countless restaurants in Florida but this is particularly nasty. About the food: on a re-try I came back to see if the tofu rice bowl was any better than the last time (came with a half a head of lettuce ;not kidding, and cabbage as plate filler), and little veg or tofu! This time they brought the plate with 1/2 covered in cucumber because I asked for no lettuce, cabbage as “garnish” so they used cucumber instead. I requested remove the cucumber and just give me tofu and veg. They did in fact give me tons of carrots, etc but only three pieces of tofu. When I asked about that the waitress said, the vegetables compensate for the protein. If you ordered chicken, shrimp or other protein besides tofu you would have gotten more. I just think they’re cutting corners but the fly situation is gross!

Lunch was.... pleasant but not memorable

Ate outside as it was a lovely day. The waiter was very helpful, telling us that chicken was a little dry and the shrimp (with the salad my friend wanted) would be the best choice. I ordered a banh mi - the sweet pork. I have to say the sandwich was a little sad, smallish for the price. Bread was wonderful but not a whole lot of meat for $9 (double? add another $7!!!) I wish the pork was a little better trimmed. I encountered some chewy and fatty pieces, not what I expected. Not a bad sandwich, but not the best I've had. My friend's salad was also simple; she didn't take the kim chi on it (which the waiter gave to me) a bowl of greens and 6 tasty shrimp and a good dressing, their signature. But, also a little expensive for what you get. The kim chi was good but more like pickled cabbage than kim chi. All in all, nice, but I probably wouldn't return.

We waited by the entrance hostess stand to get a table and be seated as per the signage. A guy and girl were waitressing and walking in and out of the restaurant delivering food outside and dealing with outside seating. After being ignored for 10 minutes I asked the guy "How do I get a table" his answer was "Just sit anywhere you see red menus" so we found a table and sat at it. Despite the same guy walking past our table multiple times, it was obvious he had absolutely no skills at communicating or hosting a customer. We were offered no water and no conversation. We had browsed the entire menu and were ready to order. This was Tuesday night around 9 pm and not even busy - poor service is no excuse and ruins the experience, we left and went to the restaurant next door and had a great meal and service.

Great social distancing, ok food, VERY deceptive

We decided to try La V. We were impressed how they made us feel safe. We were excited by the menu. The food was good, but not great. The big shock was when we paid with a credit card they added an additional fee. I felt cheated and it ruined the evening for us. Just be upfront, or raise prices by a little and don;t have a hidden fee.

Rude staff, Terrible service

My boyfriend and I along with our three year old daughter came here for lunch on a Sunday. We stood at the podium where there was a sign "please wait to be seated", for a long time and we're totally ignored. The tables were only about 25% occupied. A petite brunette who looked like she is the hostess or waitress passed by couple times not even acknowledging us. Then she was chatting and laughing with someone at the bar. Not sure if this was discrimination or what. We then left and would not eat here even if food was good.

Disappointed

The shrimp Fresh rolls dipped in peanut sauce were very good. But the main course with sweet potato noodles cooked into a big slimy heap was very disappointing. The chicken and pork strips were very dry and overcooked. We would not go there again.

Very Good Florida Vietnamese Style Food.

We've eaten here twice and both times we were impressed. As frequent travelers to Vietnam, the range of flavors, textures and aromas along with multiple choices at La V transport us back there. The Pho is a must try. The curry is a little underwhelming. The Spring rolls and sauces are fairly traditional and very tasty. I'd like to see them offer green papaya salad on the menu. The vermicelli with shrimp is also good.

It's pleasant but not Really Special

There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The room is nice, though not very Vietnamese. The staff are attentive and the service reasonably fast. We shared a Fresh Roll with shrimp and peanut sauce. Good, though not much shrimp flavor. I had a Ha Noi Spicey Sweet and Sour Sate, and my wife had a Pho Sliced Beef Soup with Egg noodles. Everything was fresh. The taste was good, but not outstanding.

Too expensive when other thai places are about 40% less and just as good.

Never tried this restaurant. Very average soup and fresh rolls. Picture on line shows spring rolls are $5.40 but they are $8.40. Pho soup was $5 more than the soup at Special Pho on 34th. I know rent is high dtsp but $27 for soup and a fresh roll order? It was take-out so tip brought it to $31. Also, I don't like places that start tip selection at 18%

been in Florida for 7 years, this is the best Asian food we have had here. Our daughter loves Asian food and was delighted with everything. Fresh food, attentive service and nice but noisy atmosphere, Prices about average for this area.

The food is stellar. Pho, noodle bowl, fresh rolls are standouts, but every dish borders on 'best Vietnamese you ever ate'. And we've been to Vietnam. But the wine is awful. I'm talking 'really bad'. A restaurant this good, with such upscale vibe & dishes, should serve good wine. A restaurant this good could charge accordingly. C'mon La V.

So fresh and yummy. Sizzling fillet meal is killer. Substitute fresh bell peppers for mushrooms. All the soup bowls are fantastic. Very fair prices. Service has been quite considerate and friendly every time.
