From the service, food and drinks as well as everything in between the new Doc Ford's location exceeded expectations!! The remodel is gorgeous and there wasn't a step of service that was missed. Friendly hostesses were there to greet and direct us to the inside hostess stand where another team of hosts were waiting to guide us to our reserved table. We were seated inside at a lovely banquet where we had a beautiful view of the sunset and boat docks through HUGE picture windows. We started our dining experience with our server Alex and her server trainer, Jordan. Alex made great recommendations on cocktails to start our evening as well as delicious appetizers. Both Alex & Jordan were very attentive throughout the evening. David brought out our dishes and made sure we had everything we needed. Upscale service in a relaxed atmosphere was everything (and then some) we hoped it would be! One of the mangers, Dustin also checked on us to ensure our experience was marvelous and it was!! Drinks, appetizers, salads, entrées and desserts with a little birthday celebration were all phenomenal. We will be back and we will bring more family and friends!! Thank you all for a delicious evening!!

Stopped by to check out the new Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille in Jungle Terrace, Bay Pines area of St. Pete. The place was hoppin' and packed. We were seated promptly though and within seconds was greeted by our server KATIE W. A pleasant greeting, a smile and thorough knowledge of the menu! Drinks were served promptly by another server, but still a smile and pleasant. The food ordered was very tasty, which was a surprise for it being a restaurant on the water that could easily capitalize on the location as the draw and the food being an after-thought. More than one manager stopped by to introduce themselves and to check to see if all food was served as expected and for those entrees that were hot, if they were served to our temperature specifications. One small item, and I'm not sure I need to mention it, as I did get resolve from the manager when it was brought to their attention, was the fact that the runners of the food rather hastily placed the food and darted off. I wasn't able to assess if I needed ketchup, more salad dressing, etc because they left so abruptly. The manager indicated that the server is to approach the table within 30 seconds and conduct that type of check-in. Fair enough. Our server Katie W. did just that, if not a few seconds past the 30-second rule.
A small point in what was an excellent dining experience for this new restaurant in the area! May their service and food quality continue on past this initial launch!

Met some people at this new Doc Ford location in St Petersburg. The staff were very attentive, professional, food arrived quickly and everyone said their food was very good. Plenty of parking before 5 pm; not so much after. Many of us orderedSeared Tuna Appetizer(enough to take home for a 2nd meal, maybe) and it was very good. They had nice music (combo playing familiar tunes), lots of seating, unable to see beautiful scenery from bottom bar/ restaurant area - but great view on outside 2nd floor. The location felt safe, welcoming and I would return again if in e area.

My wife I had a gift certificate for Doc Ford’s and we thought we would try the Jungle Terrace location on a Thursday night to watch the sunset. We arrived about half hour before sunset and were told it would be about an hour wait. Since we have been to Doc Ford’s at the the St. Pete pier several times and the original Doc Ford’s in Sanibel about 5 years ago, we decide to wait as we had such great experiences. We went the bar to wait for a table. Within 10 minutes of waiting, a table opened and my wife went to the hostess while I settled the bar bill.
When I arrived at our table, I found we had been seated right next to the rest rooms with frequent activity because of the size of the restaurant.
The noise level was very high and made conversation difficult. We had never experienced that at any other Doc Ford restaurant though we always sat outside. I highly recommend you always get a table outside.
Our server, Ashley C , was very nice made some good suggestions. I ordered clam chowder but our entrees were received first so I canceled the chowder. She apologized but offered no other response.I think it was delete from the bill but I could not tell because I did not receive an itemized bill when I used the gift certificate.
The food we did receive was well prepared.
But the ambiance was lacking and the prices for what we ordered were higher than expected based on the overall experience

First and foremost the waitress was very good and atmosphere was awesome, the evening sky was beautiful, but what I was hoping for was the Supposedly the original fish sandwitch to at least be decent but what i got was a very small cold fish sandwitch, which had no taste, and very few fries., i would almost rather have had a fish sandwich from Mc Donalds. Might be Exaggerating. But its close. My wife had a salad which was quite small for 16.00, however the bean dipw was good and filling, so she was good.
Sorry, had to write this but maybe some constructive criticism may help

We brought out of town family here a week ago after anticipating the opening for months! Totally disappointed!! Starting with the "10 or 15 minute" wait actually being almost an hour...The food was clearly nothing like I've experienced at their pier location in St Pete. Food was room temp at best. Rice and beans were terrible, fresh veggies were bland and cold and the snapper was rubber. My family all had similar reports about their dinners. I'm truly hoping that they are just understaffed, inexperienced, never worked a restaurant cooks because wow!!
I'll give it a few months for them to get it together and go in again...alone...for lunch, before I embarrass myself in front of my guests again.
So sad because this area needed this place.

We had the Macadamia Crusted Grouper and the Red Snapper bowl for entrees. were both incredibly delicious!
The Brownie and the Carrot Cake dessert were simply marvelous.
I enjoyed a refreshing dirty martini with our medium hot wings.
Waiter Kris made our culinary experience even more delightful with sharing helpful details about the menu and background about Doc Ford’s restaurant.
We give Doc Ford’s our highest recommendations. This was our first visit. We’ll be back many times!

The atmosphere was festive, and the food was well prepared. The service from Paul was excellent. However, the rum drinks were weak - ironic for a business that markets itself as a "rum bar." The fish dish was warm, not hot. The rice dish was partially warm and partially tepid.

Several years ago I saw Randy Wayne White at a book signing for his latest novel. I had an opportunity to speak with him, and told him we needed a Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille in the Tampa-St. Pete area. He said something to the effect of, “that's in the works.” A few months later they finished remodeling the St. Petersburg Pier, and as promised, there was a Doc Ford's there! My friends & I were very happy about that, so you can imagine our joy when we heard a second Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille was opening in west St. Petersburg! The Jungle Terrace store is at a great location, on the water, with plenty of parking and a great view of Boca Ciega Bay! My wife and I stopped in after some Christmas shopping the other afternoon, and had the pleasure of having Alex as our server. The food and drink were delightful, and Alex kept right on top of things, insuring that our food was as ordered and keeping our drinks topped off. She was excellent! Cody, who I expect is a manager, even stopped by to check on us. I also noticed several patrons wearing shirts from other Doc Ford's locations, so clearly this is a “safe space” for the southwestern Florida mindset.
If you're a Randy Wayne White fan, or are just looking for a great place to have a mojito, Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille Jungle Terrace is the place to go.

Ok so today is opening day for Doc Fords Jungle Terrace and they did not disappoint! They were packed out yet the service was not lacking. The food came surprisingly quick and the flavoring was fresh and perfect. Kirsten served us at the dockside bar and she recommended an added touch that wasn’t on the drink menu that was a tropical delight…Thanks Kirsten! The atmosphere was very festive and while we couldn’t stay for the sunset, I can already see it is going to be one of our favorite spots for sunset celebrations. We already knew we liked Doc Fords from years ago in Sanibel. Then they opened in St. Pete on the Pier. This new spot is by far the best location yet!

Three of us old ladies gathered at Doc Ford’s fir good food and conversation. Heather made our get together better. We valued her guidance on menu items and her willingness to acommodate our timid tastes (such as no jaloenos in our black bean dip). She also had the timing one sees only in experienced wait staff of knowing when to be attentive and when not to disturb the guests

Food was good and they have a nice selection of dishes. I got the Fish Tacos and upgraded to the fresh grouper. It was good, but the up-charge was $7 over the standard whitefish.
The black beans and rice were good. The black beans seem to have a curry flavor.
Wife got the Tropical Salad with fried chicken and she enjoyed it.
Overall it was a nice change and from the other places nearby. The waitress was attentive and made some good suggestions about the menu

On my life this was one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. We got the Yucatán oysters and the ribeye which was cooked as good as any steakhouse I have ever been to
If I remember right the manager’s name was Cody, he came by our table and made sure everything was perfect for us all night. Live music by Keith James also really set the vibe. Will be back for sure

S'iva made our lunch extra special. She was patient when we asked for separate checks and realized when the kitchen staff didn't deliver the dishes as ordered. One can always depend on Doc Ford's to provide fresh seafood prepared perfectly. This visit didn't disappoint. Everybody enjoyed and we are already planning our next visit to this local gem.

Last week I went to grab dinner at Doc Ford's with my girlfriend and both of our mothers. It had recently opened and immediately upon walking into the restaurant you could see how much hard work and attention to detail was put into making this place into more than a restaurant, but a dinner experience. The parking lot is huge. You can easily find a quick spot. The outside seating area has beautiful views no matter where you are seated. We sat inside and the sight line was done masterfully. We had a great view of the sunset through the outside bar. Evelyn was our server and provided friendly and fast service. The food and drink was incredible. Management constantly came over to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our meal. Cameron and Cody, two of the managers at this location, made frequent stops and checked in on our table throughout the night making sure everything was up to par. Doc Ford's has a great atmosphere. The perfect place for a date night, a night out with a friend for a good drink, or a meal with your family. I will absolutely be returning and will be dining there frequently!
