Coming from an Italian, it's hard for me to go to Italian restaurants. Gratzzi delivered on every level. The food was delcious, great wine selection and Jose the Chef made dreams come true! RIght as we sat, our server informed us that the Bada Bing! was 86'd for the night. Well the bossman paying for our dinner picked this restaurant for this particular dish made tableside in a large cheese wheel. Jose the Chef made some dreams come true when he was able to scrape the last of the cheese wheel the get our boss the dish of his desires after his friend sent us here for this dish. BOY did it live up to it's hype! The creaminess from the cheese and the saltiness of the prosciutto is making my mouth water as I type this. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

We went twice in one week. The first time we shared the bada bing as an appetizer and I saw that several groups were doing the same. It's so much fun to watch it being made and it's very delicious but rich to have as a solo dish. The tuna was rare and perfectly prepared. The next time we went early and enjoyed the price fixed menu for $18. There was a nice selection of about 8 entrees and you also get the wonderful salad or two choices of soup in addition to a small piece of delicious cake for dessert. The cod was delicious and beautfully prepared. The drinks are also offered for happy hour. Service is great!

Gratzzi Experience Wonderful! Had a lovely dinner at Gratzzi recently. The pace of the meal was perfect. Our waiter was attentive but not overbearing, the food was delicious and plentiful, the atmosphere was festive yet not loud or too crowded. Highly recommend this restaurant when you visit St Petersburg!

Normally we go for the early bird which is a good value. Tonight we were late and decided to go anyway. Service was very good as always.
However, meals were a little saltier than normal (soup and chicken limone)
I asked to swap pasta for the vegetables the server told me there was a small upcharge. When I got the bill, it was 5.00. That isnt small and the portion of spaghetti was small. Shame on management for this gouge.

Party of 6 for a 6:30 reservation on February 16, 2021. Upon arrival we were seated at a table that had no silverware. A basket of bread was placed, we asked for silverware, Waitress came took our drink order, still no silverware. Drinks finally arrived, the gin and tonic had no gin? Vodka tonics had tonic with no carbonation. Waitress finally returned, took the drink back, but still did not take our order. Silverware finally arrived and she took our order around 7:00. Food finally arrived around 7:50. Out of 6 meals 4 were eatable. All entrees were lukewarm at best. Chicken parmesan was burnt on one side, Baked ziti was burnt. Lasagna was cold and uneatable. Veal parmesan was over cooked and tough. Manager came over to apologize. They delivered 6 shots of limoncello on the house, one member of our party was drinking non-alcoholic beer, waitress said, I will just leave it, someone will drink it. The bill came and 2 meals were no charge, and a 30% discount on everything else. We left the restaurant at 8:30 after 2 hours, still hungry. We could not have been more disappointed. Will not be coming back.
We have been coming here for at least 6 years to celebrate Valentine's Day. All of us were extremely disappointed

This is a nice local Italian restaurant, with what appears to be lots of regulars (hugging upon arrival and departure, very warm greetings, etc). As visitors, we also received good service. The food was great, especially the salad. The pasta portions were extremely large. Both of us ended up with leftovers. We made a mistake by getting an appetizer.
The prices were probably right considering the amount of food received and the location, but seemed high to me. It is easy to get to $70 for two people without drinks.

We sat at the bar for a drink and a little dinner. Got one drink and a menu. The people to the right and left of us the bar staff knew. They started talking to them and did not come back and ask what we would like to eat. I drank my drink and it sat empty and the bartender is still talking to their friends. After about 15 minutes he finally turned to us and asked if we wanted another drink. Never asked if we wanted to eat anything. As soon as we said no he turned back to his friends. I can't tell if the food is good or bad because could not get serve. I guess if your not a regular don't go in there. I will never go back.

If I could shout this from the rooftop I would. EXCELLENT dinner and service, you could not have asked for a better place to have Italian. I haven't had a Ceasar Salad that good in years. All of the dinners we had were fabulous. The $10 corkage fee is lower than anywhere we have been in a long time, but the wine list is equally as impressive as the food. We understand from Jorge, our waiter extraordinaire, that on Monday's bottles of wine under $100 are half off. Also, Pete at the Hollander told us about it the place, and that one of the owners, Domonic, who showed us to the table, made 20,000 meals for those in need during the pandemic. KUDOS!

Was looking forward to the “authentic and cheap” points that were shared with me. While the pizza was very good, it was not as amazing as I was led to believe. I was asked about the sizes as phone ordered was placed, but not told the prices. I was caught off guard by the price difference that was posted on the website when rang out and had to go to the car to get more cash. I caught the owner on the way out and remarked that the prices were different on line than in person. He pointed out that I ordered the large size and that the posted price was for a personal size. I looked at the menu again once I got home, no higher price listed but it did say ask your server. It would have been better to be told the price as order was placed on phone or actually list the higher price on the on line menu. Margharita pizza was good, large and fresh. I’m still upset about the $43 bill and feel that’s a lot to pay for 2 pizzas. I’m glad I tried it but am unsure that I will be back.

My fiancee and I joined her cousin and his wife for a wonderful dinner. THe chef prepared our pasta vodka appetizer in a large Parmesan cheese wheel at our table. It was delicious but very rich. The caprese salad had excellent local tomatoes. The Italian wedding soup was outstanding. I ordered the veal saltimbocca, a go to dish for me at fine Italian restaurants. I was a bit disspointed as it had too much vinegar in the sauce. The chocolate dessert was very good.

For our first sit-down restaurant meal since the start of the pandemic, we were primed for a great experience based on reviews we have read. Either those reviews were written by people who really don’t know Italian food, or we caught them on a really off night.
Bread was better than what Americans typically accept as Italian bread, but New York it ain’t.
Pasta e Fagioli was essentially a minestrone, containing very little of the title ingredients. For all that, it was tasty enough.
Calamari Fritti was as tough as I’ve ever experienced. A real workout for the jaw.
Chicken Saltimbocca was tasteless, with wrong ingredients. An apparent lemon butter sauce and no fresh sage.
Mashed potatoes had a strange flavor that we could not decipher.
Then the topper: The first thing I asked the server was whether the pasta was cooked to order, as we like our pasta cooked as Italians do - al dente. I was assured it was. The seafood in the Zuppa di Pesce was adequate, but the linguini was woefully overcooked. Our server apologized for “the two young guys” doing the cooking, but didn’t offer anything other than that and to ask if I wanted to take home the pasta minus one bite that was left on my plate.

Gratzzi Italian Grille is a very good establishment to have an authentic Italian meal when in St. Petersburg, Florida. We enjoyed a table by the window which afforded us a view of everything going on inside, plus all that was happening on the street.which includes outdoor seating. Our server, Valeria was extremely accommodating and allowed us all the time we needed to enjoy a cocktail while we perused the menu for dinner choices. She was smiling and conversing with us for a minute on every stop by the table. So friendly!
For an appetizer we chose Carciofini all Romana, A fried artichoke..so delicious and unique. Also, a Spaghettini Sausage plate and Cavatelli Bad Bing, dressed at the table with a Cheese Wheel bowl and a fiery display by another friendly gentleman who obviously loved his work.
We noticed that the General Manager, Receptionist and bartender as well were so alert to client's attentions and it seemed that there were many regulars by the hugging and handshaking as our nite went on.
We really recommend Gratzzi Italian Grille...a wonderful place. We actually told a couple of bartenders at another restaurant just before we walked to Gratzzi that we were going for dinner soon and they smiled and said that we would love it.That's a great reputation coming from others that means so much!

Gratzzi has always been our favorite Italian restaurant in St. Petersburg, but after a disastrous experience this past Sunday, the six people in our party have said arrivederci!
The only highlight of the evening was being promptly seated for our 5:00 PM reservation.
The remainder of our dinner was very frustrating and extremely disappointing.
Although the restaurant was not busy, it was over ten minutes before a person arrived at our table and served glasses of water. He didn’t introduce himself or provide any menus.
After patiently waiting for a server, I finally went to the hostess stand and asked if she could give us menus and a list of the dinner specials. I then shared the information with our guests, when low and behold the water person who turned out to be our waiter found his way back to the table.
In addition to the intolerable service, the overall food quality has gone way downhill and definitely not worth the vastly increased menu prices.
After enduring an awful dinner service, several cups of coffee were ordered. The cream served was spoiled, as it curdled when poured into the coffee. We waited until "The Phantom" (our server) returned to bring this to his attention. He eventually returned with replacement coffee and cream, but once again the cream was spoiled and curdled the coffee!
He tried to make excuses for the situation with a confrontational attitude. It was definitely time to pay the check and leave!
Although proper staffing is a challenge for the restaurant industry, the Gratzzi ownership and management team (none of whom stopped at our table during dinner) are ultimately responsible for their reputation and repeat business.
There are many other restaurants in St. Petersburg to visit in the future!

From outside, the restaurant appears unpretentious. All ingredients were top-quality fresh and their pasta is freshly made in-house. It is a well established restaurant and its waiters and waitresses are very attentive. Other reviews here in Trip Advisor were influential and spot on. This was absolutely worth it. I’d go back.

Gratzzi is the perfect location in St Pete, FL for traditional Italian food that reminds you of the great Italian restaurants found in the Northeast. Watching Luis make the tableside "Bada Bing" pasta is always a treat. Steven will always make sure you choose the right dinner option, and never leaves a glass unfilled.
