After Henry Flagler's spectacular historic resort Alcazar closed, Lightner picked it up as a place to showcase his collection of collections. The best part of the experience was lunch at the Cafe Alcazar which was built in the deep end of the huge and spectacular indoor Victorian-era swimming pool. The food was wonderful and the staff was very accommodating. However,... More

I cannot think of another restaurant that is situated in the former deep end of a luxurious spa swimming pool, so this was a first for me. I enjoyed the East Meets West Salad, but the highlight of the meal was the olive oil which is produced and bottled by the cafe owner in Greece. If you do not have... More

The interesting thing about this hotel is that it sits at the deep end of a historic pool in one of the old Flagler hotels. The live piano was a nice touch. Waitstaff were nice and helpful. The food is okay. My daughter really enjoyed it and has been several times. I doubt I will be back.

Outstanding food and service. This is truly a unique dining experience since you are actually eating in an old swimming pool. History of the Flagler College experience you'll never forget.

Besides the history (you seat where was, in the past, the largest swimming pool in the world), great atmosphere (live piano), delicious food and wonderful staff. Must go!

The Cafe Alcazar is housed in the basement of the Lightner Museum in what was once their indoor pool. This is wonderfully sophisticated place to dine for lunch, which is off the beaten tourist path, but right around the corner from the main tourist walking areas. This case is frequented mostly by locals who are aware of its existence. The... More

A group of us went to Cafe Alcazar today for a birthday luncheon. There were 14 in our group and everyone was very pleased with the fabulous service, menu selections and food quality. Many followed the waiters menu selections and were very happy with their choice. We have visited here before and we are also pleased with the food and... More

You eat on the site of the indoor swimming pool at the heart of the massive concrete luxury hotel. Good food and service.

So fun to have a fancy (but not stuffy) lunch at the Cafe Alcazar. It isn't often that you can have a wonderful lunch in an old indoor swimming pool! A unique venue complete with tables with tablecloths, someone playing piano and excellent food and service. Sean did an wonderful job and we took his recommendations. I enjoyed the East... More
