This Italian restaurant in Naples, Florida, continues to set the standard for excellent Itallian cuisine (indoor and outdoor), atmosphere, experience, and outstanding/very friendly staff. They also have a remarkable happy hour from 3:30 PM to 4:45 PM daily with 50% reductions on their special Italian specialty cuisine menu and wonderful cocktails, wines, and beers.
We were fortunate again to have our favorite waiter, Sascha, serve us. He is simply amazing and makes this wonderful restaurant a truly more wonderful experience. He is attentive, without hovering, and makes sure every need is met before you have to ask. His warm and friendly demeanor enhances this one of a kind eatery.

The restaurant was not very busy and we were pleased to have good service. The appetizers and entrees were very good and steaming hot but served with a bit of a wait. The background music was louder than we preferred.
The location a block away from the parking garage was a plus.

Wonderful dinner with friends at Cafe Milano. Our waiter Julian is an asset to the restaurant, he’s description of the menu items made my mouth water. We had the lobster and pasta special, clams and pasta, chicken parmigiana and a Caesar salad. Everything was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back.

We love this place, have been coming here for years…
On July 24 they ran an all day happy hour.. we enjoyed a nice meal, our server was great (but run off his feet) and the place was packed.
The bill arrived $180, which we split and I paid the tip.
The server pointed at the tip amounts and asked me to type the value into the hand held device which he the scanned with my credit card…
It wasn’t until I got home that I noticed the 20% tip value was $56…
I then saw in small print that the tip was based on the full price of the dinner not the happy hour price..
Now I should have read the small print on the check, but I didn’t…. So I admit fault.
But this is a cheap way to blindside customers… the principle of paying a tip on the full value of a restaurant meal not the price they are charging feels very wrong.
They are obviously aware by the way the server asked me to type the value rather than hit the percentage button on the payment device.
Shame on you Milano… be better… or don’t push the happy hour promotion

Made a reservation for 3 adults at 8 pm and requested at the time to sit outside. Arrived and checked in at 7 pm. They offered to sit inside immediately, we said we were fine to wait for an outside table and proceeded to walk around and wait for a text that the table was ready. Returned at 7:45 to check status and they offered a two seater table outside and to pull up an extra chair. Seeing as though we were planning on eating dinner (not just drinks or appetizers) the table they showed us was too tiny to fit three plates and the added on chair would have been in the middle of the sidewalk. We said we’d prefer to wait longer for a larger (4 top) table outside. We could see (and were told by one staff member) a couple of other larger tables were finishing up, so we waited. Finally about 15-20 minutes later a 6 top table got up and left and the staff proceeded to pull apart the two tables that were seating 6 people ( 2 and 4 top ). One staff member indicated the four top would be for us. They started to reset the two tables, but as they were cleaning a party of five walked up and asked for that table, we could hear them say they didn’t have a reservation but asked specifically for the table that was being cleaned and pulled apart for us. The host spoke to a couple staff members and then proceeded to push the two tables back together. We walked up and spoke to the host about the table, explaining that we had a reservation and had been waiting now over an hour (20 actual minutes past our reservation for a larger outside table) . We were told that the table we were waiting for was a larger table for a larger group and the group that walked up (with no reservation) was a party of five and we were a party of three. They proceeded to push the two tables back together and give the table to the party of 5 with no reservations. I was shocked at the blatant disregard for a waiting customer (who frequents Caffe Milano). I couldn’t help but think all they saw was larger $$ for a party of 5 instead of a party of 3. They should have asked the party of 5 that just walked up to sit inside or wait for another larger outside table to finish up and give us the smaller 4 top table. But instead they made us wait and as a result they lost a customer. We walked away and took our business elsewhere. The kicker is this was not the first time something like this happened to us at Caffe Milano. We came another time with another couple that was in town visiting and they did the same thing and gave a table we were waiting for to another group. It was our mistake to think that when it happened the first time it was a fluke, and give them another chance, but apparently this is part of their practice to make more $$ over customer service and respect for their customers.

My experience at this restaurant was deeply disappointing. Despite waiting outside for 20 minutes for a table in the shade (the hostess were aware that we were waiting) for happy hour, we were overlooked in favor of the owner's son. The hostesses were aware of our wait for a table for two, yet they allowed him to take it without hesitation, citing his status as justification.
After I indicated that I would take my business elsewhere, they suddenly proposed splitting the four-top table that had been vacant for 20 minutes, although they initially hesitated to seat us there. It was incredibly disrespectful to prioritize certain customers over others, particularly when it’s the owners family. Wouldn’t you think they wanted the best for their guests? What's even more disheartening is that when I brought up our wait, the hostess said she didn’t know we were waiting, and that we must have spoken to another waitress—a blatant lie. Following her dishonesty, I decided to leave, and while leaving she laughed and said “Well I’m offering you a solution now.” We opted to dine at one of the other ten Italian restaurants on 5th Avenue, where we were able to enjoy our meal in a more welcoming atmosphere.
I work for my family business, and this behavior is NEVER ok.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing, the ambience and food is something else… our family enjoyed every single bite. Also we asked to speak with a chef to explain that our daughter needs extra attention on the preparation of her meal !! Because he has dairy allergies, and chef Marvin did an excellent job on preparing her food. We all had a great family lunch at Caffe Milano restaurant, and me and my family totally recommend everyone to try.

Can you find better Italian food out there? Possibly. But you would you be able to find a place with this kind of ambiance, location, and positive friendliness? I doubt it. Having reservations, we were greeted cheerfully by the hostess and promptly seated in the middle of the packed restaurant in what can only be described as a wonderful positive and energetic environment of people having a great time. The waiter was extremely adroit and professional. We ordered basic Italian classics. The food was good. Very good. The Tiramisu was unusually presented in a bowl. Not bad at all, just different. The location is on the Naples promenade amidst other upscale restaurants and bars containing wealthy clientele. There was a scene in front of this restaurant as we arrived - a couple were trying to get into this restaurant without reservations. They were dealt with decisively by the competent management. Make sure you arrive with reservations and all will be well.

went to the restaurant for their happy hour which is 3-430 m-f. food selected items is half off and drinks can be as low as $5… the food selection was very good with lots of appetizers and mains. i had the risotto pescatore which was very very good. my wife had chicken parmigan off the special menu and my cousin had the putanesca. service was great, food was delicious and prices were very fair. surprisingly the restaurant was not super busy. would gladly go again. our server did a very nice job as well

We went to this place on the main street in the center for our first dinner in beautiful Naples.
The environment is pleasant and well-kept, the staff very kind.
We start off well with the welcome entree: olives in oil and fresh bread.
Unfortunately things are going badly with my scope; since it is an openly Italian restaurant, I would have liked to eat a simple margherita pizza, but instead I was brought the "skizza": a very thin sheet of dough with tomato on top and a pasty, salty cheese, certainly not mozzarella.
But why such an unsuccessful imitation of pizza?
However, the chicken al bricko ordered by my husband was good.
Note of merit also for the espresso coffee, well made, a rarity for the place.
Too bad about the skittishness, I would have given a higher rating.

grazie mille per la review. Ci fa piacere sentire sia commenti positivi che negativi. Ci tengo a precisare che si, siamo un ristorante italiano e proprio per questo non avendo un forno a legna o degno di una pizzeria ci siamo fortemente rifiutati di offrire la Pizza, perche` siamo contrari a fare prodotti simili a quegli italiani; se non abbiamo l'attrezzatura giusta. meglio non farla. Ecco perche` ci siamo inventati la Skizza, che non e` una pizza in quanto non ha lievito ed e` un impasto simile al flatbread americano. non essendo una pizza e non essendo un flatbread ci siamo inventati un prodotto nuovo e che devo dire la verita` molto apprezzato.
Essendo pero` italiani e amanti della pizza abbiamo aperto una pizzeria vicino a Caffe' Milano che si chiama La Trattoria; li abbiamo la vera pizza napoletana, fatta con la farina giusta, la mozzarella fresca e sopratutto il forno Moretti, arrivato dall italia. Insomma, ci tenevo a raccontarvi la storia della nostra skizza ma sopratutto a ringraziarvi per averci visitato.

Well, that was really good. During happy hour until 5 p.m., a large selection of dishes cost exactly half as much. We ate an amazingly large grilled salmon for $16.50, Caesar salad (about 8) and caroccio with truffle oil for the same price. The quality of the food was amazing, the quantity, the elaborate and imaginative preparation and, in the end, above all, the taste. With two cocktails and a bottle of Pellegrini with taxes, $55 - that's very good value. And very attentive and friendly service. Great, I wouldn't have expected that on the main tourist street in Naples.

This restaurant is the best Italian restaurant anywhere! I have have had the distinct pleasure of enjoying phenomenal food and service at this restaurant for over five years and it never ceases to amaze this global traveler when I am in SW Florida!
The food is exceptional with great taste and ample helpings as well as exceptional staff who are congenial and are friendly and at your beck and call. I had just returned from Naples, IT and the Amalfi Coast in May where great Italian food is the norm. However, nothing compares to the consistent excellent quality of food and service at Cafe Milano in Naples, Florida.
My recent sojourn here ordered the always wonderful pappardelle and the lasagna as well as a wonderful salad. Everything here is always a delight and the wait staff enhance the food with simply exceptional service and attention! The waiter this time was Jeeanesh who was simply the best!

Always a great meal and service! We live in Naples and this early dining special, at 50% off any item on the menu, is best in Naples, in our view.
We had the calamari to start, the pappardelle with short rib ragu, spaghetti carbonara (though I would suggest ditching the cream part to make it more authentic) and the seafood risotto. Fresh pastas, flavorful, served hot, not much else is necessary for a great dinner, however a great server makes it even more outstanding! The tiramisu is large enough to share and it’s delicious.
This particular visit, of many over the years, was quite unique with respect to the service provided by our server Matt. We have dined all over the world and have experienced the full range of skills by servers at restaurants, expensive and not. Matt stood out tonight with his high skill level and attention to details that make a dining experience memorable. While a young man, Matt has mastered his trade, to the point where all 4 of us felt the need to compliment him almost at the same time and without any pre-discussion about it! We all watched as he cleaned off the table after our appetizers, checked on the cleanliness of the cutlery prior to placing it on our table, he promptly brought some seltzer water and a napkin when he saw that I was trying to clean off a drop of red sauce on my shirt, and he did all this while minding several tables as the place was quite full! We’ll done Matt, your management should be proud of your skills and dedication to the customer!
The hostess, April or Abril, not sure, was also very friendly and welcoming!

I have visited this restaurant for several years and in the past enjoyed it. I have even recommended this to several friends, which I now regret. This year it was so disappointing in several respects. First we made a reservation, wanted to sit outside where there was an open table only to be told "outside seating is for the people that do NOT make a reservation." We questioned why the table was free and that we wanted to sit outside, but we were told "we are waiting for a call back from the people that did not have a reservation." Now, does that make sense? So they seated us in the back of the restaurant where it was so noisy AND crowded - servers kept bumping into our table and our arms. Food was smaller in portions and higher in price and just NOW WORTH IT! I have over 130,000 followers on what Italian restaurants are recommended across the states, and this one is not going to be any longer recommended by me. As another reviewer said, "there are other options" that are much better and friendlier.

I usually love this place, but we showed up at about 20 before the end of happy hour, and we were clearly stalled so we wouldn’t put our food order in until after the happy hour discounts were over. The bartenders were not busy, and they kept putting us off. I’ve been in the restaurant industry, so I’m aware of what they were doing. It was pretty disappointing. Although I do love the food. Maybe I just had the wrong bartenders that night.
