Deeply disappointing We have been going to the Windsor Rose in Mt. Dora for more than fifteen years, and have observed that every time there is a change in ownership of the restaurant, things change for the worse. We always have the Windsor Rose High...Tea for two. The first time we had it, our tea pastries and sandwiches were served on a three-tiered serving dish. In our visit today, the pastries and sandwiches were brought to our table on a two-tiered serving dish. The sandwich offerings appear to be the same, but both the quantity and the quality of the pastry offerings have considerably declined. One item on the top tier was a small pastry with bitter chocolate on top, and some unidentifiable mess inside. The cake on the top tier was very dry, and not nearly as good as it once was. The interior decor of the restaurant has gone downhill as well. The service, however, remains friendly and efficient. NOT recommended.More

What a treat and tremendous asset to the community. Great experience propelled largely due to our excellent English accent speaking server. She was first class and attended to us very well! Our friends from Leesburg took us Georgians here for Sunday lunch. The gals had...the lobster bisque with a salad which were very good. Lloyd and I enjoyed the African rooibos hot tea served with fine China. Lloyd really enjoyed the Asian salad-great dressing! I enjoyed the salmon special which was done to perfection which included delicious potatoes and asparagus. We shared the recommendation of the lemon cake-super delicious.More

Love this little teahouse/cafe. We had the best cream tea we have had outside of England. Real tea, porcelain teapots and cups and scones to die for (as they say - better to say to live for!) They also do lunch. Check their hours -...closed on Mondays, I believe.More

Charming and delighful tea room opposite the public parking in the mount dora square neighbourhood. My husband and I had a pot of tea and a scone with cream and strawberry jam. All I can say is the taste was cosmic, served hot and so...very delicious. Chatted with the owner from Windsor and she was lovely and friendly indeed, we will be back for the afternoon tea for sure!!! 100% Recommended.More

Stopped here with another couple after boating on Lake Dora. We have walked by numerous times and finally decided to try the food. The waitress was friendly and told us what the specials were, as noted on the chalkboard outside. I had the fisherman’s pie....The cream sauce was very skimpy and the pastry crust was sealed to the rim of the bowl so tight that I had a hard time getting to the contents of the bowl. Taste was just so-so. The salmon special with dill sauce had good sauce, but the rest was average. The sausage rolls were light on sausage, and heavy on pastry. Prices were not cheap, but probably in line for a tea room restaurant.More

Called for a reservation for two and was informed by Paul it was NOT necessary only had 2 for the whole day come when ready wouldn't be a problem. Arrived around noon and was led to a table for 4 by the window which did...have a better view but we thought it would be best to take a table for 2 and leave the larger table for a bigger party (place is very smal)l. Our moving and not having a reservation seemed to have irritated our server because from that point on the whole experience was not good. We chose the High Tea for 2 (BIG MISTAKE) the sandwiches which were NOT fresh and very small in fact the smallest of any tea room we have ever been to and so skimpy on filling they were tasteless. The finger desserts were old and also very tasteless and while the scones did have a good flavor they also were NOT fresh (very hard). We opted to try dessert after seeing the table next to us sharing the apple crumple and when ours came it looked NOTHING like there's. Was suppose to have caramel & whip cream on top but ours did not and also was not very good. We did not eat it or most of our meal! Our server was very slow and disappeared for long periods of time. When she came to our table to bring the check I informed her I had called for a reservation but was told it was not needed and we moved as a courtesy at which time she changed her tune and did finally say thank you but we do fill up fast and you should always call for a reservation. Hey lady I DID! Needless to say neither one of us will ever be back and this might explain why the place was almost empty. It's such a shame because in times past it was pretty good and I do like the improvements they have made by removing the really big tables and chairs that opened up the place and makes it brighter. I also love the painted floor and the new decor throughout however, would have been nice to see some Christmas/Holiday decorations since it is December. Sorry but we will be taking this one off our list to return to.More

The menu offers a great breakfast and good variety of entrees. They offer full menu, breakfast/dinner. My wife and I do Sunday mornings there often. Love the Benedict Arnold Eggs and Home Fries. A atmosphere with strong English accents gives it uniqueness that is very...enjoyable! Love the coffee and the biscotti.More
