Upstairs at Faena, you will step into Pao, and you will be enchanted. Marco, my waiter, took the time to explain every single dish on the menu which would suit my dietary preferences. I had a superb meal. I ordered a chocolate Martini, which the...bartender made to perfection. The Hamachi, followed by the Ora King Salmon, and the Braised Greens with king Crab were a savory introduction to Chef Paul Qui's culinary Art. All staff members were impeccable. I highly recommend.More

The service was great, good quality food and the restaurant was beautiful. The price in my opinion was a bit overpriced for what I was getting but is expected since the restaurant is located inside of Faena. I wouldn’t return but I am glad I...experienced it.More

I visited Pao recently to celebrate my birthday and had a perfect experience. From the minute we arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere and main dining area were stunning. Our waiter Vlad provided incredible service. He was well-educated on the menu and...made terrific recommendations. Vlad was able to help us find dishes that worked for a couple of the guests with dietary restrictions. Additionally, a special thank you to the Manager Pedro, and Sous Chef Mauricio who stopped by our table to welcome us and wish me a happy birthday. The kind gesture was extraordinary. Although everything we had was incredible, our favorite dishes of the night were Tom Kha Rice, Waygu Shortrib, and the Unicorn. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to have an incredible dining experience with unique flavors & dishes. Thank you to everyone at Pao!More

This is a beautiful restaurant, very well decorated like the rest of the hotel and the staff is very attentive, unfortunately the experience is for a certain type of people because it tends to be more like a disco. The noise is unbearable. And it...gets better when the musical group ends and leaves the place. From that moment you can talk which is the real reason when you go to a restaurant with friends, it's not just eating, it's being able to talk. The entries are microscopic and some of the main courses have limited food. What is outstanding is the willingness to serve and the smiles. We were lucky that Jed was assigned to our table, and he is a true professional.More

My wife and I ate here for a nice couples evening based on other reviews here. It was absolutely extraordinary. Our waiter was one of the most knowledgeable and articulate waiters we have ever had. He knew everything on the menu to a T and...could explain every single dish. The best things that we had were the fried chicken l, the thom gha (sp?) Risotto veggies and the wagu short ribs with Japanese butternut squash topping. Both were exquisite. The ambiance was wonderful as were the rest of the staff. If you have the option to eat here while in Miami, do so. It is an amazing dining experience. Kudos to everyone involved. This is the way high end meals should be served , presented and enjoyed.More

The dinning area is amazing, the service is top notch. We had a couple of dishes as they recommended sharing amounts yourselves. What really stood out to me was the spicy cucumber salad and mille crepe cake. You can tell that the cooks have mastered...the French cuisine by the art that they’ve created. The Faena is lucky to have such a well maintain restaurant on its property.Only reason for the lack of one star is that the portions are small, great experience but you’ll probably be hungry after.More

Incredibly inventive takes on classic Philippines food. Here w group that was half Filipino, they thought this may well be the best restaurant of serving this food in the world. Got to sample a half-dozen items from the apps and the mains, all were over-the-top...great. The 4 rating rather than 5 is because of the wine list. Very well curated thoughtful selections, over the top. But, next to nothing available below $200-400/bottle, top end was $11,800 (not a typo). So, very uncomfortable dealing with their somm looking for something, when I picked a bottom end price point--$80 per bottle pinot grigio--he actually rolled his eyes at me! Please, Pao, don't revamp most of the list, and don't start selling mass market stuff, but get some wines at price points more appropriate to the food.More

Located in the acclaimed (and gorgeous!!) Faena Hotel on Miami Beach, PAO by Paul Qui is a very unique and EXCEPTIONAL restaurant! In your travels, you might find wonderful Italian food, top-notch steak or seafood restaurants, Farm-to-table, etc., but you might not find very many...restaurants like PAO. Acclaimed Chef Paul Qui (James Beard Award winner, Season 9 Top Chef winner, etc.). Paul Qui, of Phillippines heritage, and of great restaurant success in Austin, TX was recruited by Faena Hotel to open a grand restaurant on Miami Beach -- Mission accomplished! The foods have a nod to filipino flavors (along with Japanese, Thai and other far East tastes). The restaurant interior is gorgeous (and outdoor patio seating faces the Atlantic Ocean), and service is superb. We loved the central round, leather bank of seats divided into 4 sections each for lovely seating for couples! We enjoyed the following food items: Top notch cocktails: Margarita ($23) - excellent Old fashioned($22)- VERY excellent!! (Japanese whiskey, Drambuie, bitters, smoke) For appetizers: Complimentary amuse buse - a spiced watermelon cube - quite good Unicorn($36) - not-always-on-the-menu - a MUST TRY DELICIOUS rich corn soup with uni, chili, and lobster broth -- a most unique dish! Fried chicken w/ banana ketsup($23) - very tasty Entrees: Skull Island prawns w/ squid ink rice noodles($65) - YUM!! Duck Kare-Kare($60) - perfectly cooked with crisp duck skin (melt-in-your-mouth resembling a duck confit texture) w/ kare-kare sauce (NOTE: This a strong peanut flavor sauce; order sauce-on-the-side if not your fave) Desserts: Kidavoa Chocolate Stone Banana Chutney, Ginger Lime Ice Cream($14) - if only choosing one dessert, I would say that this unique dessert is MUST TRY! Mille Crepes Cake($14)Light Cream Cheese Mousse, Vanilla-Passion Fruit Syrup - really DELICIOUS!! Complimentary chocolate cookies - melt-in-your-mouth In summary: Ambiance - gorgeous Service - excellent Food quality - OUTSTANDING Price - dinner is a solid $150-200 per person POA by Paul Qui is a most unique restaurant with exceptional quality and unique foods/flavors that you'll not find elsewhere. Dinner here is a wonderful treat and/or a really special occasion.More

We had a amazing experience at Pao by Paul Qui. We came during the week after a long day of meeting and conventions. I call and José was able to get me a table for 5 at soon restaurant open. The atmosphere of the restaurant...is welcoming. The service by Marcos and Samuel, the whole team was spectacular. Marcos was to describe each dish, you could taste it before even trying them. The food was out of this world, the flavors, textures, fragrant and spices. Our taste buds were so excited. I will definitely by back.More
