About
Inspired by its rich history and 1950s glamour, world-renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten has reinvented the iconic Matador Room with reimagined menus that offer his interpretation of Caribbean, Spanish, and Latin and South American cuisines. Seasonal menus are composed of small and large plates that embrace the freshest, locally sourced, seasonal produce. The space's original chandelier has been restored and is suspended over the sunken oval dining room that is reminiscent of the glamorous supper clubs of the 1940s and 50s.

This was our first visit to the Matador Room. It was as good as advertised. The ambiance is wonderful, the service first rate and the food was done to perfection.

You first walk in the white minimalist divinely fragrant lobby of the Edition, then through a bar that Hemingway would have adored, then into a vast pastel colored contemporary reinterpretation of an Art Deco dining room. You feel like sitting there, but go one step...More

This was a simply lovely dinner destination. I had the heart of palm salad, octopus, and grouper tacos as I thought they were small plates.... All were wonderful, but sadly I had to leave a whole taco behind as it was just too much food!...More

I came last Thanksgiving to have dinner with my family - I don't cook. All the dishes were great! Especially the arroz con pollo. The ambiance is great, romantic and service was good.

Mid week business dinner with colleague that was well serviced by attentive staff. Appetizers were tasty prior to my entree order craving fish tacos that were good, but not spectacular as I hoped. Missing cilantro...what can I say? Perhaps personal preference from my hometown Portland...More

We visited the Matador restaurant last week with friends. The experience starts walking through the very elegant all white and gold hotel lobby. As you make your way through the lobby to the bar area all you need to do is follow the warm glow...More

They have a great bar, but you would have to contact them directly as I don't know what their happy hour is.

Yes! The menu has many options that are already gluten free and vegetarian - sweet pea guacamole, maitake mushroom with goat cheese, heart of palm salad, mushroom tacos, and roasted veggies with brown rice and salsa verde.
