My wife and I have become fans of this restaurant. The flavors are very authentic - latin home cooking. The place is not big nor fancy but the food is delicious and very plentiful. The beer is served cold and in a frozen mug. They also carry some specialties like malta and tres leches dessert. Our favorites are the skirt steak and the fried red snapper.

We have eaten here a few times. Today (9/8/19) is the first time we decided to have take out from here. We ordered 4 tostones with different toppings. According to the menu (picture attached) they come with cheese. And guess what... I bring them home and...no cheese... we called and spoke with the employees and they informed us that the tostone ($1 surcharge) does not come with cheese. And that Only the corn cake has cheese. That’s not true. We have ordered this before and it came with cheese. We will never come back here again. Horrible service and horrible experience. So upset and wasted $44. Just wanted an apology. And did not even get that.

We used to come here often. Delicious food but yesterday really upset me when we went there for dinner... we all asked for our plates and my girlfriend got churrasco, which it was bad, smelled picho and tasted terrible sourly like old nasty steak. They were so sorry, they smelled it too and agreed with us. Only 3 bites out of the steak, They asked us for whatever we wanted to changed it for, well my girls appetite changed and she just asked for a plain grilled chicken. When it was time for the bill, they grabbed our card, didn’t bring the check, and then when I asked for the check they were nervous, well, On the bill they charged us for the meat that was bad and their excuse was, “at least we didn’t charge you for the chicken” seriously? I’m not cheap but is the point of customer service. Not happy and unfortunately we won’t be coming back there. Really sucks because it was convenient for us and we never had a problem in the past. We never complained about their lack of waiters and having a second person to help out or even how late we had to wait for our drinks and food. We always leave good tips 15% to 20%. It is unfortunately that 1 time the food is bad and we were fine with the embarrassment but their customer service at that time was horrible. And to clarify their mistake, we were not looking for free food we just wanted to get charged for what we ate. I’m sure there was a difference between the steak and the plain chicken. And we even left a $9 tip. Fair enough!

This ia a Colombian restaurant that does not accept American Express credit card and I am not sure if they accept other credit cards since there are no signs displaying any credit cards on door. The grilled steak was fine but after a little while it was hard, the corn that comes with it was hard from the beginning. I did not enjoy it because I like soft food not hard.
The waitress was quick and helpful.

This is a homey, mom and pop Colombian restaurant in Margate, FL. We love places like this because they usually take pride in providing great, authentic food and the prices are usually very reasonable. Well the prices were reasonable. Some of the food was okay. The grilled chicken breast was excellent. The grilled tilapia was tasty, but there seemed to be a lot of black residue from the grill or fry pan. My dish, I forget the name of it, was a mélange of Colombian favorites. But, the small piece of steak was overdone and very tough, the fried eggs were overdone, and the chicharrones were so tough that I could not bite into any of them. The two pieces of plantain were okay, the red bean were okay, the rice was okay, and the one link of chorizo was unpleasant.
While La Abuela's food was not consistently delicioso, Grandma's service was consistently courteous but bad. Once the order was taken, everything went to hell! The food was served in dribs and drabs. First, my son's chicken and my wife's fish, but no sides for another five minutes. Then, after ten more minutes, my food arrived. At no point did our waitress come by to ask if there were any problems with the food. When we were ready to leave, she took away my mostly uneaten platter without asking if there was a problem.
The prices were inexpensive and we knew that we would never return to Delicias De La Abuela, so we left a 15% tip and got out of there. I am sure that some folks love this place, but it's definitely not for us!

This is the newest Colombian restaurant in Margate. It is a quant, very nicely decorated establishment that is specific to the regional Columbian cuisine. The staff is very friendly and answers all your questions, service is top notch and the food is great.
We went for a late lunch and had the:
~ La Paisita ~ Arepa de maiz Blanco con Queso Maozzarella, Frijoles, Ahogado, Chicharon y Chorizo (White Arepa with Mozzarella Cheese, Beans, Fried Pork and Colombian Suage) ~ what a hearty and flavorful meal for $6.00
~ The Aphrodisiac (La Afrodisiaca) ~ Topped with Mozzarella Cheese & Shrimp in Pink Sauce (Arepa de Maiz Blanco con Queso Mozzarella y Camarones en Salsa Rosada) ~ a lot of shrimp and maybe to much sauce for $6.00
We got all our dishes with their "Corn Cakes" which make a world of difference and provides that great substance needed to soak up all the juices that you want to eat.
They have thee large screen TV's so you can watch the 2014 World Cup, have an ice cold beer and just chill. Either at a table or at the bar
Also, check out there breakfast menu (8:00am) for a very traditional Latin American meals.
Definitely a nice place to go and try...
Cheers!
