This beach landmark is legendary, and it’s still on fire with a burning passion for delectable food, enticing drink and pleasurable surroundings. For an evening of fine dining, elegant atmosphere, superior service and genuine hospitality, Salt Rock Grill is your destination.Come by land or sea and enjoy the finest dining location in Tampa Bay.St. Petersburg Times–"The first modern surf and turf joint on the beaches still packs them in with red-hot, straight-ahead cooking. Steaks are first-rate, lobsters monstrous, wine cellar deep, seafood and fish souped up in spicy broth. The unexpected treats are root vegetables, lentils and smart spicing"
Grateful to have had a reservation! Very busy with a waiting list. We were immediately seated. Plenty of staff available, smooth flow. Mike D was our waiter, excellent! He was busy but very focused on us. We weren’t rushed, nor did we wait long. Warm...bread with fresh herb/olive oil, superb! Grouper kabob, garlic mashed potatoes, fresh fish casserole, Cesar salad, all memorable. All the restaurants in this area have fresh, delicious food. The difference here is presentation is a cut above. These meals are not made by a good cook, but a chef!More
This has been a family favorite for generations! Our server Derek was phenomenal, very friendly + provided anything we needed. We started off with the calamari which had THE best flavor. For sure the best we’ve had down here. Then I had the filet mignon...which I couldn’t rave about more, the flavor was supreme + their garlic mash was to die for. My fiancé had the blackened mahi mahi which he said had super great flavor but was alittle spicer than expected but was delicious. The Salt Rock always goes above and beyond for their guests and I will always rave + recommend it.More
As a first timer, this was a truly a Tiffney, Sterling dining experience. We were early
at 4:30, sat outside, ordered from early bird, a top value. I had fresh catch, grouper
and with salad, baked potato, small dessert, it was more than enough and...every thing
was delicious. Service from Maggie was exceptional, she is a real professional who
cares about and understands customer service. From timely arrival of the courses
to the refill of water glasses, attention to detail was spot on ! The place is like a well
oiled machine of team work and all should be applauded. Kudos to all but most of all to Maggie.More
I was very disappointed in the meal we had tonight. I had surf and turf and my son had rack of lamb. Neither was seasoned. The meat was tough and had no flavor. I have never had a tough filet before. The waitress was amazing...and seemed frazzled because a lot of menu items were sold out and she had taken the brunt of people’s anger of not having many choices. None of this was her fault. Salt Rock. Needs a new chef!More
This was far and away the best eating experience we had while in the Tampa bay area. The seafood is fresh and spectacular. The restaurant employs its own fishing boats that supply the restaurant directly. I personally recommend the grouper cheek piccata. They also serve...great steaks, if someone in your party isn’t a fan of seafood. They have a nice indoor bar, and an outdoor bar on the water. The serving staff was great - we were seated outside when we went, and it started to rain. Our waiter quickly moved us to a new seat inside with no issues. Drinks and dessert were also delicious. The prices are high, but absolutely worth the cost. I would absolutely visit again if I find myself back in the area.

This busy restaurant operates like a finely oiled machine. Every single employee we interacted with was personable and professional, you can tell management spends a lot of time training their staff.
We ordered off the early bird/supper club menu. We had the baked scallops and...Rock the Boat (seafood in a yummy cream sauce. Meals came with a side, salad and small dessert for a very reasonable price ($16).
Next time we'll probably order off the regular menu and buy a bottle of wine from their extensive wine list.
There is a working grill and meat display counter when you first walk in on the right.
The restaurant is on the inter=coastal overlooking their fleet of fishing boats.
By far, the best restaurant in the area for fine dining.More
