My daughter and I have been here twice to eat in the last 2 months. The first time was to see if we liked it and the second time was because we wanted to come back and eat here again. From the outside it does not look like much. The parking lot needs to be repaved and the restaurant is not fancy. THat easily overlooked once you sit down and eat. With COVID precautions still in place, they have a great outdoor seating area, and they still try to seat diners placed apart outside. Each time we went the servers with both very knowledgeable and recommended ideas to me based on dietary restrictions. The meals came out quick and hot and the price is reasonable. We will continue to patronize this restaurant.

This is more a Korean restaurant than Japanese and I had anticipated Japanese. My husband's bulgogi was very good. My don buri was bland and boring. We had a nice conversation with the Sushi chef as the sushi counter was across from our table. Our server must have had an ESL (English as a second language) issue because he wasn't able to answer the questions we had about various dishes.

I came here on a Sunday night with a friend for dinner. I had been wanting to try their kimchi fries but I quickly learned that Momoyaki has a massive menu that includes Japanese, Korean, and Chinese influences. It was hard to choose but I ultimately went with simple salmon and yellowtail sushi rolls to balance out the fries. The fries themselves were topped with sautéed kimchi and minced pork belly, melted cheddar cheese, scallions, and crema. The portion size was massive and the kimchi and pork belly had good flavor. I felt it could have gone without the crema drizzled over the top, which tasted basically like a more liquid version of sour cream. The sushi rolls were pretty average but my friend liked the Korean fried chicken he ordered. Our waitress, Liv, was the friendliest server I have encountered in quite some time. She was incredibly polite, upbeat, and made sure our water glasses stayed full. You would be so lucky as to have her on your trip to Momoyaki, where no matter your taste buds, there is something for everyone.

We went here with 4 people and everyone loved what they ordered. The food is super tasty, the menu varied and interesting, and the service was spot-on. Try the fancy fries with spicy kimchi- a super treat!

It’s off of 13th street, next to Papa John’s, the directions on Yelp is not correct. Sylvia is waiting on us, she’s attentive, pleasant too. There’s a nice size patio. The inside is oddly laid out into different areas and rooms. We were seated in a narrow entry by the patio doors. Asian fusion, sushi and Korean are a nice blend of food items. Ordered a spicy grilled chicken, no kimchi fries since the minced pork is already mixed in with the kimchi for the fries :/. We ended up ordering a Rangoon, a Philadelphia roll too, two side salads and a chicken bibimbap, stone pot with the egg cooked fully. The side salad is decent, mixed greens, ginger carrot dressing is good. The crab Rangoon are also pretty good, small envelopes of wonton encasing cream cheese and some krab bits too. The apricot sauce is good with it. The spicy chicken is tender, spicy and quite good, wishing I had gotten that dish instead, it’s breast of the chicken meat. My chicken bibimbap is also good, chicken is pieces breast and dark meat as well, spicy flavor is nice. The radish, bean sprouts, carrots, spinach are a nice blend and portion with the chicken. The egg was cooked fully for me too. The sesame oil goes well with the bibimbap, of course.

I haven’t had sushi since leaving New York. I had a roll, crab rangoon’s, and the cheesecake bites. It all tasted great, my only complaint is I wanted more! I got pick up and ate it at the hotel, but the staff was friendly for the short time I was there.

While visiting UF’s Open House we decided to stop by this place to check out the Sushi. Although on the outside it wasn’t very appealing and it was almost empty the food was great! We had several types of Sushi Rolls, Miso Soup, Chicken Teriyaki, and everything was excellent. Our waitress was pretty good with an extremely friendly vibe. It didn’t get the 5th star because the bathroom were both closed for leaking. Hope they can fix them quickly!

Tried Momoyaki during a visit to the University of Florida with my son. The restaurant is nice and provides for a great atmosphere. The menu has a wide selection of both Korean and Japanese dishes from kimchi to sushi. I had a spicy Korean pork dish called Jeyeuk Bokkeum and my son had the Korean beef Donburi. We were very impressed with how good the food was. The whole dinner cost under $30 dollars and the service was great. Will come back the next time we are in Gainesville.

One of the nurses at Shands recommended it to my daughter while she was in the hospital. She had Bite Squad deliver. She raved about it so my wife and I stopped on the way back to the hotel for dinner. We are new to Korean food but are now big fans. We have tried many dishes and enjoyed them all. We order the spicy green beans every time, excellent appetizer.

I went for lunch with a friend, expecting the usual menu of typical Asian fare, but was pleasantly surprised by the unfamiliar names on the menu. I settled on stone pot bibimbop with chicken. It's a rice bowl with chicken (or other protein) and an egg with veggies in a hot stone bowl. The rice on the bottom has a crispy crust from the heat of the stone bowl. It was very flavorful, and well seasoned, not overly salty. It was quite good. And they also had peach iced tea, which was also good. The portion size was generous, and quite filling. I would go back again.

She imbibed her miso soup, unashamed; Like the Floridan limestone swallows water. The steam rises rapidly, warm pond. Wade in the rich bubbling broth; Bean sprouts, cabbage, sliced green onions. Monetary sacrifice: from $$ to $$$ Please follow us on Instagram @sidewalkspeaks.

Enjoyed my takeout from Momoyaki. I’ve been looking for a place that has really good spicy green beans and I finally found it. I also ordered a noodle bowl that was outstanding. Delicious flavor, fresh and just the right amount of spice, not overwhelming. I will definitely order from here again. Their menu has a lot to offer so it should appeal to lots of different palates.

I've been to many korean restaurants in Gainesville such as Liquid Ginger and Garlic and Ginger. I think Momoyaki is the best place to go in Gainesville that is very close to the UF campus. I've had the Stone Pot Bibimbop that is a classic dish which is filling, but make sure to get the Stone Pot to get the full crunch rice experience at the end. My favorite dish from here is the JJAMPONG. It is a large spicy noodle soup dish which you can ask to have as extra spicy if you can handle it. It is full of various seafood such as octopus and shrimp, definitely worth the money. The reason it gets 4 stars is because the service an sometimes be slow, especially if there are multiple large parties around. If this happens, make sure to order your sushi rolls first because they can get backed up. The fried cheesecakes are very good.
