What a wonderful restaurant! Found in the heart of Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island this is a true gem! Everything from the tapas to the full menu was delicious. They have. Great sangria, wine list and a very varied menu. Whether you opt for a small plate or full dinner you won't be disappointed!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Espana last night. We were given complementary champagne. Our food was fantastic! We started with a shrimp tapas (in a mildly spicy beef sauce) and a nightly special salad (with goat cheese and honey mustard/balsamic vinegarette dressing). We then had the meat paella which was delicious. Our server, Justin, suggested the flan for dessert.... More

My wife and I who are in our mid-seventies recently spend a few days at Amelia Island and frequented the Espana Restaurant & Tapas because of a recommendation received from a citizen during a chance conversation on a beach walk. The ambiance is outstanding. The service excellent. And the food - well let's simply say it was good but if... More

Had been told that this is one of the top restaurants on the Island. I can think of so many better restaurants on the island. Was disappointed. Food was good but not what we were expecting for "top restaurant".

The Portuguese seafood was out of this world. Clams, mussels, shrimp, fish, calamar, scallopsi and more in a fabulous savory sauce. was a wonderful treat. The waitstaff and all servers made our visit a gourmet treat for tired travellers.

What FUN and all featuring delicious, assorted tapas and excellent wines. It's always crowded, but worth the wait, or eat at the bar. The bartender treated us like royalty! Loved the dining room service, as well. We were here, years ago, and the strides toward excellence this restaurant has made are wonderful.

I'm a year late in writing this review, but our fond memories of Espana -- its delightful cuisine and its wonderful staff -- remain strong with us. My wife and I were visiting Ameila Island for our 14th Anniversary and made a point to visit Espana after seven, local shop owners recommended it to us. We were so delighted by... More

We ate dinner here and ordered several tapas to share and they were all excellent. The staff is also very attentive. You don't want to miss this spot. We ate outside. The atmosphere was excellent as well.

Went early on a week night to get a table since we didn't have a reservation. Good selection of items on their menu. We had a chilled tapas appetizer and grouper and a paella for entrees. Good Sangria. I would eat here again trying a selection of tapas to get the most variety of this taste of Spain.

Description
The traditional flavors of Spain and Portugal are highlighted in all our dishes here in the heart of historic Fernandina Beach. Sip on homemade Sangria or enjoy a glass of wine from a list of hand picked selections (International and Californian). Choose from a menu of hot and cold tapas, "just caught" fish or meat entrees including the national dish of Spain, Paella. You can choose to dine in our cozy main dining room, bright enclosed patio dining room or lush garden dining area which is open generally Thursday - Sunday and weather permitting :) Chef Roberto is a second generation restaurateur, with over 28 years experience. He endeavors to make your evening a memorable one by bringing both his own family recipes, and inspiration from trips to Spain and Portugal for you to savor and enjoy. Family owned and operated since 2004. The Original on Amelia Island!
