About
In 1984, Louisiana Lagniappe was opened and established inside Sandpiper Cove condominiums in what was at one time the Sandpiper Cove Yacht Club. A loyal following was quickly established due, in no small part, to the quality of the food and the attention to detail of the service. In 1998 The Southern Restaurant Group took ownership of the restaurant with a commitment to maintain the same level of food quality and service. Since then, Louisiana Lagniappe has consistently served only the freshest seafood and steaks. Now open year round, Louisiana Lagniappe is the spot for a memorable dining experience on all levels. In 1999, a second Louisiana Lagniappe was opened in the San Roc Cay Shopping and Marina Complex in Orange Beach, Alabama. Offering the same fine Louisiana seafood with a Creole flair, the attire is casual, yet an upscale waterfront dining experience is provided for the entire family.

Great Food! Food and service were excellent. Instead of bread, they bring hush puppies. Lobster Rangoons and Eggplant Orleans appetizers. The Rangoons were good, but you lose the lobster. The eggplant was delicious! Entrees were the blackened shrimp and scallops and Bayou Grouper. Both dishes were cooked perfectly! All Entrees come with a side salad and twice baked potato ( I loved the potato) which was nice that we didn’t have to pay extra for. Price point is a little high, but it is not a pretentious place. I would definitely go back! Our server did a great job too.

We’ve been coming here at least once during our annual family vacation to Destin for the past 5 years or so. This came as recommendation from my Grandmother who owned a condo in Destin when I was kid and this was her favorite place to eat. The food and service is great! Everything comes out in an orderly fashion and your water glass is never close to being empty. I think the hush puppies are great and nice to snack on. The view is ok. Nothing special about it. We definitely prefer sitting outside. If you don’t get there around opening prepare to wait awhile. No big deal and it’s honestly like that at every restaurant we visit during our stay. This place is pricey. Be prepared to spend more then you would at any of the other restaurants That’s with a couple drinks a piece and an appetizer. We were there last week and I will say that probably our only not so great experience still good though. My food was great, my kids enjoyed theirs but my husband did not enjoy his. Also the crab cakes appetizer was pretty bland. We’ve had it before and they must have changed because it looks and taste completely different. Our server was good definitely not great but good. We’ve had him before so I’m thinking this was just an off day because he’s was great the last time we came. Overall we love this place and will continue coming whenever we are in town and definitely recommend. We also love it’s sister restaurant The Back Porch which we go to multiple times while we are in town.

We had the two can dine with wine for $54.00. (M - Th) Great deal. My husband had the shrimp etouffee, and I ordered the blackened shrimp. Both dishes were excellent, sides of a twice baked potato and salad also very good. We upgraded our bottle of wine and the charge was $10.00 instead of the $5.00 stated on menu. Our server told us this so it wasn't a surprise but I didn't understand why. The service was outstanding. We are in the area for a month and have guests arriving next week. We will return so they can enjoy a wonderful experience and meal at Louisiana Lagniappe!

The food was very tasty but everywhere else from our dining experience fell short. I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars.
The wait was long. We were quoted an hour and half but ended up waiting closer to 2 hours for 2 people. I had a severe headache and was light headed by the time we sat.
The food was great, but not worth waiting that long for it in my opinion. Or maybe eat a snack before you arrive? I just wasn't prepared for that.
As others mentioned. The host staff was very rude to us as well. She ripped the pager from me when I asked how much longer we had to wait, after checking in at our 1.5 hour mark.
They only had one bartender, and while he was hustling, the drinks took 10-20 minutes to get. It seemed like poor planning to have one bartender making drinks for the restaurant of that size.
Once seated and ordered the food arrived in a timely fashion. The hush puppies were good, but nothing to write home about. The salads were typical. My husband ordered the beef tournedos which were cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. I had the blackened red fish, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The true star of the plate was the twice baked potato. The best potato I ever had. We finished our meal off with the key lime pie.
It Seemed like we were being rushed out at this point. We were brought "to-go" cups for our drinks to take with us, after we already stated we wanted to finish them before we left.
After waiting 2 hours to get a seat, the last thing I wanted was to feel rushed to leave.
We were there celebrating our wedding anniversary but nothing about the meal felt romantic or special to us. Just a long wait for good food and rushed to leave.

We had been aiming to try this place for years due to the high ratings it was receiving but I was always leery of the food all being too hot or spicy for me, but this trip I gave in and we went. The placement of this restaurant is odd, it is located in a rental subdivision and you must stop at the gate and get a pass to even enter the area. The signs need to be bigger and more of them but we finally found the place. The parking lot is very small but they are happy to valet your vehicle for a fee. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot. The wait was an hour at 7pm on a Tuesday, so be prepared to wait. There is a bar area with seating but it was full as well. Our wait was a little under an hour and we were seated inside, there is seating outside as well. The tables are all covered in white linen tablecloths and it was so loud in there you couldn’t have a conversation. Our server was Natalie. We both got salads with our meal, mainly lettuce with one tomato, one olive, one pepper. I got the bayou grouper, it was okay kinda bland with a little heat to it just as I had thought. My husband got the blacken redfish, it was average and very hot as well. Our server was very slow and not paying alot of us much attention except for one table which she spent a lot of time talking to. For a meal and two drinks at $112, I would have liked for our food and service to be better. Doubt we will go back again, there are too many good restaurants with better food and service.

I had enjoyed this restaurant a few months ago so when my husband and I were in Fort Walton for a few days, I suggested we eat there. It is soon after the COVID19 restrictions so we had dine in with social distancing seating. The lady who served us was fantastic. We both ordered cups of soup - me the crab and corn chowder (Delish) and my husband had the gumbo which he said was very good. I devoured the Steak Tournedos and wanted to lick the plate it was so good. The salads were fresh, crisp and lightly tossed with a house dressing. We will return at our earliest possible date to eat at the fantastic restaurant. It is pricey but well worth every penny. No room for dessert!!

Beautiful waterfront dining with an amazing sunset view! We began with their Mardi Gras Shrimp as an appetizer...a must when dining there! Two of us shared the house special, Fish in a Bag. Our server, Lauren, kindly split the entire meal for us, which included a salad and twice baked potato. My husband had the Oysters Lagniappe. It is an upscale dining experience but casual and the servers are great! Thanks, Lauren!

Be sure to get there early! We tried the special (red snapper with shrimp and crab) that came with a twice-baked potato, a salad and hush puppies. The food and service were excellent. Lots of drink choices and relaxed coastal ambiance. Don’t miss it!

My family and I had our final meal of our vacation at this restaurant and I believe we saved the best for last! They accommodated our group of 15 with no problems. Our glasses were never empty, our dietary restrictions were met with understanding and accommodating. I ordered the filet mignon and I believe it was the best steak I have ever had. Others in our group raved about the seafood. The kids meals were $10 and were very filling for the 9 kids in our group. I will definitely be back!

I really wanted to give this place a 5, but my patience wore thin with an hour and thirty minute wait. Atmosphere is marketed as fine dining, but if we are being honest, it’s an Outback Steakhouse. During my visit I saw a woman practically wearing a bra as her “top”, several guys with jean shorts/backwards hats/tennis shoes, and way too many things a hungry stomach should not see before eating. The food was pretty good, except for the grouper. I would recommend the redfish and scallops. Sadly, hush puppies and lemons aren’t exactly what I think of as appetizers - so I highly recommend you switch to traditional bread or something of that nature. Tone down the fine dining atmosphere feel if you aren’t requiring a particular dress code - especially if I am paying a fine dining price. Not sure I would even rank this place in my top 5, but it may be worth the trip.

Great dinner with great service. Gary was the best. Sea Glass Reisling was an awesome choice. My husband had the blackened redfish and I had the tournedos of beef. We had the lobster rangoon for an appetizer. Hush puppies are awesome, as well the salad. If you’re used to getting bread before your meal they have a great loaf of French bread you can get. My husband had the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake for dessert. It was excellent. Views are second to none. Definitely will be coming back.

We are from Louisiana and we found this place to be just like home which is hard to do. It's not just "creole" is Cajun cooking as well. We went at 5, got a table immediately and the server took very good care of us. Be aware that everything is fried in PEANUT OIL! My daughter has an allergy to peanuts and this oil so I'm so glad we read the menu first. The waiter was very understanding and we accommodated her with a hamburger and fruit cocktail. I had the red snapper special and my husband had the grouper meunière. The grouper was awesome and red snapper was ok. We would definitely recommend and go back

Delicious pecan crusted grouper! $52 for 2 entrees and a bottle of wine. You can leave the bottle corked and take it with you. Joel was our very knowledgeable server. He was a great resource for dish preparation as members of our party had allergies.

Came here originally 20 years ago and every few years since. It is consistent and delicious. The Grouper Ponchartrain and Seafood Lagniappe were our go to's last night and both were prepared well and truly delicious. We had a glass of wine each and share a piece of key lime pie for dessert. The pie is really good! Tab was $130 before tip and while certainly not cheap, it's not out of sight for the flavor and (white tablecloth) service given.
And speaking of service, it's the best I've had anywhere in months (CV-19 notwithstanding)! We arrived at 6:00pm and the place was nearly full (cool night, not many otuside). Were told 15 minutes, so sat down and ordered a drink and by the time we said cheers our table was ready. Server arrived quickly and our drink and entree items were delivered within what seemed like 5 minutes. Especially surprising since our server had a table of 25 business people next to us.
Very happy that the quality and flavor has stayed the same over time and that the service is better than ever.

We recently stayed in Destin for our anniversary weekend. We ate at three of our favorite restaurants, and this is the only restaurant visibly practicing COVID precautions. The food was top-notch, and the staff wore masks. We appreciated their efforts to serve their guests, to make the dining experience enjoyable, and to protect all parties involved.
