This restaurant has a great location overlooking the coastal waterway by the marina. Although its a big and busy restaurant its not too noisy as the are several separate indoor and outdoor eating areas. Appealing menu, heavy on seafood but with plenty of other options too. Not super expensive. We paid $115 for two courses plus a bottle of wine for two including tax and service. Overall food was very good. Particularly liked the seafood pot pie which had high quality fish content. My husband enjoyed the paella and the blueberry cheesecake (even though it looked shop bought and not home nade). However, the service did let the restaurant down. The wine took ages to arrive and our shared appetiser came out first, very quickly after ordering. We chose the reisling wine after checking it was a dry but it was actually a medium and quite sweet so this was disappointing. Then our entrees arrived as we were still taking the last mouthfuls of our appetiser. We sent them away whilst we finished but they were back within a few minutes. In between a complimentary bread basket was delivered but we didn't really get time to eat any of it! As soon as the plates were cleared for our entree, we were being asked what we wanted for dessert. It was a shame that the meal was just so rushed. The server was even asking if he should bring the check before they had even bought my husband his dessert! It wasn't as if there was a line for a table either.

Our 1st. time going to the restaurant. I ordered an escargot special wrapped in phyllo and it was not very flavourful. I also had the seafood paella which was mostly rice with bits of seafood and small bits of andouille sausage through out. It was also very dry and flat tasting. One of the other guests ordered the same thing and was disappointed as well. Someone also ordered the seafood pasta and found it lacked flavour as well. The service was excellent and our waitress was very attentive. She brought us warm bread which was very good and got it replenished right away. The restaurant interior was lovely and the setting spectacular. Will probably go back again but try lunch instead.

I have been to Rumrunners several times over the years. The atmosphere is very pleasant. The location, being on water, is very nice and there is seating with water views......if you own a boat you can get there via the Cape Coral canal system, the river, as well as, via the highway. Food is very good though a limited menu and be prepared they are on the expensive side. I would suggest, unless money is not an issue for you, that this is not a place to bring a large family with children (not so sure young children would even care for the menu). I would certainly recommend it for a once in a while visit.....I do NOT believe you will be disappointed.

This is one of the best places on the water for happy hour or dining. happy Hours runs 3:00 til 6:30 which is longer than most similar places. $5 chicken bites are great, shrimp were very good but I am not a fan of u peel, too messy and too much trouble. The 1/2 order meatloaf was quite good. We will go here several times each January.

Excellent waterfront restaurant in Cape Coral. We always make it a point to stop for lunch when vacationing in the Fort Myers area.Their signature drink a" rumrunner" is delicious and refreshing.Their desserts are delightful. They have daily specials on their menu and on our most recent visit we were a little disappointed in the choices. My wife had the Crunchy Grouper sandwich with chocolate torte for dessert and I had their house burger. The atmosphere is great, with indoor , outdoor and screened in patio seating. There are also heaters in the event there is a chill in the air. Matthew was our server and did an excellent job servicing our needs.

Being seated was awkward. The hostess kept passing duties to the next hostess and helping smaller parties in line behind us. Everyone was confused. My party of 7 was finally seated...at a table for 6 and too many kids menus. Ok, everyone makes mistakes. Ordering drinks was a nightmare. We tried to order a Dr. Pepper, but they have any - no problem. Mr. Pibb? Nope. What do you have? Waitress said they have Coke products. Ok, let's order a root beer. Nope, no Root Beer. I clearly asked again "Can you tell me which soda drinks you have here?" She responded "Coke and Sprite". Ok, we ordered a Coke. At this point the waitress started talking in a babyish and condescending tone to the entire table. When our drink order was finally taken, the waitress was too impatient to wait for grandma to say her drink order. Grandma was literally trying to locate her drink on the menu and the waitress was frustrated and left. It was Grandma's birthday and now she's frustrated too. After 3 rounds to drop off drinks for a party of 7 we finally placed the food order. Our food did arrive quickly and hot. My Bistro Salad with salmon was phenomenal. The shrimp scampi and chicken alfredo was disgusting. The kids fries were soggy and gross. The burgers were ok. The food was overpriced ($21 salad; steaks start at $48 with no sides included). Quality service would have rescued this visit. This is not the first experience like this. Will not visit or recommend. There are too many great choices for dining in this plaza.

The beer was cold, the food was hot, the sun was warm and the view was relaxing. Ordered the "Seafood Pot Pie" and is was beyond great - loads and loads of seafood in a lobster broth - absolutely fabulous. The service and boat activity rounded out a great evening.

Terrible service from Marina. Charged $5.00 for a basket of 5 rolls server didn’t mention they charge for rolls. My rib steak was small and they charged $43.00!!! Asked for manager Brooke Kneram arguing with us said she was not going to listen to this. Really??? Not going back. Too bad they’ve been here in Cape Coral Florida for years.

Nice venue and view. Waitstaff was very attentive and went out of their way to give us meal options. But it was highly recommended by locals, I expected more. My grouper sandwich was tasty but not as good as the food at lobster lady.

Ok let me start off by saying I loved the old Rumrunners food was awesome and the bartenders were great. Move ahead they now have new owners so we decided to check it out. Hmm let’s see all new bartenders number one mistake as the drink I always get was not drinkable so I ordered another favorite which was barely drinkable. The manager or so I assumed came by asked how everything was so I told him about my drink and also my salad came out with no dressing at all. Taking my drink saying he will take care of it he finally sends the waiter over who asks what drink I would like with no mention of my salad dressing(obviously wasn’t told about it) So I tell him I am still waiting on my dressing he’s like you need more and I’m like I need some there is none in here. Skip ahead to our meal which you can get a full portion or half with which I got a whole. Well it came out like a half and I know this because the lady sitting next to me got the same thing and the portion she took home was the size of my whole meal. That being said my penna vodka has never failed me until tonight and it did fail me. Now I’m not sure why the old owners sold as it was a gold mine there always busy but the new ones better get a clue and fast or Rumrunners will he no more

My boyfriend and I decided to grab a quick bite here. Beautiful outside seating but wished the food was better. Don’t get the jumbo shrimp special. They give you 5 small shrimp with a horrible tasting rice and it’s $30.. I ordered the gulf shrimp pasta. No garlic no flavor at all also for $30. Barely made one serving. Overpriced for ok food. Nothing special

I've been to Rum runners before and the good is marginal. The French onion soup was good, however my husband ordered the meat loaf on mashed potatoes and the potatoes were woefully tasteless. I sugested they add just a little horseradish like a restaurant in Savannah does. I doubt they will change. They get people in their neighborhood and by boats and by car, so why try harder? I had the lemon drop. Hard to screw up. I had the meat bologense penne pasta. Very boring dish We need better restaurants in this area and a culinary schools to teach how to make delightful dishes. I am just saying.....

We picked this place at random, but what a good choice. We knew from the first time our waitress Mariah came over this was going to be a fun night. She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and a lot of fun. I ordered the ribeye and my husband had the seafood pot pie. Both dishes were excellent. My steak was perfectly cooked and the pot pie was fresh and tasty. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Mariah is a keeper.. ask for her and you'll be guaranteed a fun time.

Transition w/new owner has not been good Lunch today was a huge disappointment. I’ve had much better food in a cafeteria We both had the Chicken Croissant Sandwich because hubby could not get his usual Fish Special of the Day. Croissant was old & dry lacking any flavor. Chicken salad was non existent in sandwich and it clearly came from a container and was not freshly made, the best part of the meal was the side salad dressing : Blue Cheese Our waitperson was polite prompt & efficient but not knowledgeable about offerings Hubby says… take it off the meal list, enjoy past memories and call it a wrap! There are so many great places to dine in Cape Coral.

We had a wonderful dinner at Rumrunners on a Tuesday night. We made reservations and were able to enjoy our dinner on the patio. Located in Cape Coral Harbor. The service was great & our server was very personable. Food was fresh, fast & delicious. Coconut shrimp & Calamari was fresh, steak & scallops were perfectly cooked. We enjoyed a very nice glass of Rosé & the honeydew melon daiquiri was sweet, cold & tasty, both chosen from a wonderful wine & cocktail list. We will definitely return! The only thing we’ll do differently is go a bit earlier to browse the shops & to make reservations to enjoy dinner & drinks on the patio during sunset! I’m sure it’s a perfect setting. **Note that apparently Tuesday Night is Bike Night at the Harbor. Live music & a lot of great looking motorcycles & classic cars on property... left for not much parking, so go early & plan a short walk if parking lots are full. There is garage parking available also, but much of appeared to be occupied by residents. It’s a must do! $$-$$$
