This is a comfortable and enjoyable place to have a beer and a delicious meal. The food is incredible and made to order if you have allergies. I love the atmosphere, the staff and the owner. This will be our favorite neighborhood dinner spot, for those of you that are not in the neighborhood, it is worth expanding your neighborhood... More

My wife and I came in late about 20.15, it was absolutely empty. It is off del Prado Blvd. Inside old fashioned decoration and for outside sitting a very nice decorated area. Still warm and humid we choose to sit inside, as my wife did not, just now, whant to get somewhere else, as a suggested.Happy Wife, Happy Life, I... More

Hadn't been here in years and when I walked in the owner Al came out and sat with me like I was a regular. He brought me some items to sample including alligator, something I never had before and the scrod. I ordered the seafood medley with shrimp, fish and scallops. The breading was lite and the dinner was delicious.... More

Just completed a 2 week house hunting trip...found our new home and many new places to eat. The New England Moorings will easily become our new go to favorite place to eat once we move here. Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared. The fried gator, green tomatoes, shrimp, New England Scrod, and the chipino were outstanding. The service was equally... More

This was our fourth visit to the Moorings and we brought along friends from Rhode Island who are self appointed critics of New England dining. They were blown away. Superb food served up with lots of laughter, drinks, and table side entertainment from the owner, Al. Very unique dining experience and a place which we will continue to visit. Try... More

Went to the moorings after seeing it on TripAdvisor.com. I was blown away by the friendliness and the food. They're not fancy but the ambiance was outrageous and ecclectic. The minute we walked in two people yelled out 'Welcome to the moorings!' And the party started! We we're immediately given samples of videalia scrod and gator tail. We ordered the... More

Based on other reviews we tried this restaurant on our holiday in August 2016. We had no idea we would be rocking up to a dull grey building (with a Happy Xmas LED sign blinking away above the door!) in an equally dull grey rubbly car park. I had visions of us being on the water, enjoying sunset views ...... More

Moorings is a new favorite of mine, with a fun, quirky atmosphere that appeals to adults and kids alike. The food is delicious and served with a smile! My personal favorite dish is the Cioppino, a seafood stew with salmon, calamari, shrimp, scrod, scallops and more! Al, the owner, makes everyone who walks through the door feel like family and... Description
A few lines to introduce myself. My name is Al Whelan, I am from Boston and worked at a famous "waterfront dive" known as Kelly's Landing. A seafood business in a Catholic community with lines down the street, literally. I worked there for five summers and enjoyed every minute of it. My first date with the counter girl (she couldn't resist a man in a paper hat), my first kiss, etc. One rule was demanded, cooking with clean oil! In those days it was lard! Today we use canola oil both on the grill side and on the fry side... Most of our dinners are on the grill side. Fish shrimp, scallops, steaks, ribs, chicken and pork round off our menu. Our Irish Connoli is like a little piece of heaven and our homemade bread pudding is to die for. Both topped off with sweet whipped cream. We've added a 6000 square foot patio surrounded by trees. A truly private and romantic spot. Also some added features such as, a basketball cage, beer pong table and corn hole court.
