Home Grown has offered consistently very good to outstanding food since they opened. They had a little menu issue a few years ago but that seems to have been cleared up. They appear to have tweaked their mushroom soup recipe in my most recent visit, making it THE BEST mushroom soup I have ever had, including that at Longwood Gardens.... More

I have gone to Home Grown for more than 12 years for girls' nights out, Sunday brunch, and the occasional lunch with colleagues. I find that we are always seated quickly, that the food is good quality and offers options for gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, and health-conscious eaters. Definitely recommend.

I had been there many times. Wonderful ambience, good food, and I like the singers/musicians they bring in. The burger is fantastic, so are other dishes.

We recently met some friends at this cafe for dinner. None of us had ever eaten here before and we were all rather pleased with the menu options and, better yet, with the food that was served. It has a casual atmosphere and there was no rush from the waitress. The service was very good.

Do I need to say more, what a waste of time. This place is dirty, there was a cloud of smoke hanging in the air (I believe there is no smoking in restaurants in Delaware?) I reluctantly ate the food I ordered, and it was ok. On a scale of 1-10 it's a no.

Had meals here many times over the last couple of years. Really excellent selection on vegan, vegetarian as well as gluten free options. The staff are friendly and there a good parking options in the back of the restaurant at a pay lot. The restaurant is near many other eating and drinking establishments and the other shopping.

I had been wanting Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna, and we found it while taking my daughter and boyfriend out to dinner. The tuna was very good. My daughter ordered a stuffed pumpkin chicken bowl, which she enjoyed. The two other entrees were a vegetarian burger and a J ager Schnitzel which were deemed average.

Stopped here for lunch today and will stop here again! We tried the Kennett Square mushroom soup with portabello mushroom bacon--amazing--which accompanied the Green Goddess sandwich (avocado, muenster, tomato, bean sprouts, lettuce on wheat) and the tuna poke--a small dish with ahi tuna in a relish of cucumbers, red onion, corn, and edamame with wonton chips. Everything was delicious. The... More

Excellent food and well prepared. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the setting. The location was enjoyable and well traveled by the University students.

Whenever I want something a "little different" for lunch, I tend to go to Home Grown. There are a number of sandwich and salad options although I tend to order the wrap with brie, apples and nuts complemented with either tuna or chicken. Vegetarians and vegans will also find a range of options.
