Try the dry hot sausage appetizer (plenty for two and leftovers to take home). The fresh pasta with puttanesca that was recommended by our waitress was delicious. The perfect amount of flavor from olives, capers and anchovies. Chicken parm was tender and juicy. There was enough leftovers for at least 1 other meal. It is a great place.

I live in CT but am not normally in this area. I attended a house showing with some friends that wanted me to take a look with them so planned to have a late lunch here. First off, the place was super clean, all staff were masked and while this wont happen every day , we got to sit in the big room apart from other and felt very safe. The food was excellent. Squash flowers stuffed with cheese, fried calamari, linguini with clams, raviolis and Arugula salad and more. Served promptly and every thing was awesome. I really wanted to try more items on the menu but ate light myself this time as my friends dug in. I know these times are extremely difficult for restaurants and just wanted to say thank you for such a nice experience done in a good way as to make your customers feel you care about their well being.

My wife and I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is always fresh and absolutely delicious. I remember visiting when I was a child. It was always my Dad’s favorite restaurant back then. Do yourself a favor and visit this authentic Italian restaurant. The food is amazing. You won’t ever be disappointed.

I used to live in New Britain and dined there frequently. I was back for my 50th H.S. reunion and ordered 2 dinners of white clam sauce with linguine to go. I picked it up between 1-2 in the afternoon after leaving the hotel and paid the dinner price, about $25 an order. I asked for butter to go with the bread when I picked up the take out order but was told by Jane that there would be an extra charge. (Do they charge extra for butter on your bread when you dine in?) Huh! When I got home in R.I. we went to eat the meal and saw that the bread was moldy. I called and spoke to Jane and asked what could be done to fix the problem. Jane immediately asked "Did you eat the meals?" I told her that I already had eaten half my meal and it was fine, but the other meal was discarded so I asked for a partial refund. Jane said she would replace the bread. Really? Do you expect me to drive 100 miles to pick up a few slices of bread. Jane said they "bake the bread fresh every day so the mold spot was probably created by the yeast. Ha! I worked at Theresa's (Damiano) restaurant on South Main Street in New Britain, CT in the 1970s and made the pizza dough and pizzas there and never had a problem with the bricks of freshy yeast causing mold. Duh! It is one thing to raise prices but keep up the quality the product. If you do not stand behind your product you lose respect and business. God rest your soul mama Theresa who lived until age 92 and always took care of her customers and workers. I have attached a copy of the receipt and moldy bread to this review.

We will never be returning! Ordered baked ravioli with their house sauce. The ravioli arrived barely warm looking like they were placed in a microwave for 30 seconds. When I asked the waitress why they were not baked she had the manager come over. The manager rudely argued with me saying they were baked, which it was obvious they were not. No attempts were made to correct the situation and I was stuck with almost raw ravioli with a very bad sauce ice cold. This is the second bad experience we have had there. My husband’s short rib dinner was also bland and disappointing. If there is new management they are doing a less than one star job.

It's sad, but this place isn't what it used to be. not even close. Have gotten take out twice in the past 3 months; both times terrible. First time, ordered pizza w/meatbal. and affected me. Second time 2 vegatable grinders. Specially said no hot peppers. One of the grinders was excluisvely hot peepers. The bread was overwhelming; the sandwiches were all bread. Cost $23.90. Called and requested credit on Masrtercard for one of the grinders; I dont live in the area. Was told one free grinder is awaiting me on next visit. I think I'll pass.

The food is spectacular, however, the service is not so good. I would suggest going during a week night to dine in but pick up is the way to go when getting food here.

Greeted quickly, and seated. Great staff offering helpful recommendations. Try their home made ziti, they were excellent.

Is there a way to give less than 1 star? This restaurant is horrible on so many levels. We were a reservation of 11 people on Father's Day. We were shoved into a corner at a cluster of tables which could only have seated 8 comfortably. We were given 2 menus and told the rest would be dropped off, because they didn't have enough in the restaurant to go around. After 10 minutes of no more menus and no server, I had to go to the hostess stand to get them myself. The water glasses were water spotted and had bits of food stuck to them. The water pitchers were cloudy plastic (from overuse) like you'd find at a dive bar. When the food arrived, everyone got their meals except for my father. On Father's Day. TWENTY MINUTES later, after I had to make 3 trips to find our server, he finally got his lasagna. LASAGNA is what took that long. My son's "medium rare" steak was so well done it was gray. My husband's veal pagliacci was cube steak. My pasta puttanesca was 2lbs of angel hair with a jar of sauce dumped on top, sprinkled with capers. All the other meals were mediocre at best. And the lasagna was absolutely NOT worth the wait. The kids all got dessert (still hungry because their meals were inedible), and when the bill arrived, nothing was done to make up for the horrendous experience. No first round of drinks on the house, no free dessert, no comped lasagna. The server took so long coming back for the bill, that I had to bring it out her at the hostess stand. My mother was so distraught that our celebration of my father was so awful, that she couldn't even speak to anyone at the restaurant that evening. She called on Monday and asked to speak to a manager. She received a half-hearted apology, but no offer to refund a portion of the bill, or send a gift certificate (not that we would EVER go back). Severely disappointed in this place which many describe as a Plainville favorite. Do NOT waste your time or money at Pagliacci's.

Both the food and the service were good. I would come again if I happened to be in the area in the future.

Wonderful food. (Great portion size). Friendly staff. Typical Italian hospitality. Highly recommended. Gets popular - think about making a reservation if going on a Friday or Saturday.

One of the best restaurants for anything Italian, sauces, pasta all made on premises, wide variety on their daily specials, excellent service

Have not been here in 16 years since moving out of state. Have to say the place and quality has not changed. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and professional. Been dreaming about coming back here for so long and it didn't disappoint. Great selection of food, home made pasta. It doesn't get better than that.

We own a business near by and have been told about this restaurant by multiple customers, so we figured we would give them a try. We had 4 adults and a 3 year old in our group. When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was the fresh cut pasta drying in a case, which is an automatic thumbs up from us. We were immediately greeted by 3 very friendly staff and quickly seated and given menus. We sat for a bit without anybody approaching us, which we didn’t mind as we were looking over the menu anyway. A very friendly man who appeared to be a manager came up and apologized for nobody coming to us sooner and he took our drink order. Soon after, our waitress Jacqueline came over and she was BY FAR the best waitress any of us have ever had anywhere. She was very upbeat, pleasant and great with our 3 year old. A “diamond in the rough” as one of us called her. The food came out and it was all delicious, especially the homemade pasta with a Fra Diavolo sauce. In our group we tried the Pasta Fagioli, Chicken corn chowder, house salad with Parmesan Peppercorn dressing, Baked Cod, Salmon Olivia, Chicken Parm, Chicken Francaise, and a kids pizza, and all of it was perfect! To top it off, it was a breath of fresh air to see so many employees working so well together as a team, while keeping smiles on their faces. It is not easy to find such great food as well as great service in the same place anymore. We will definitely be back and let others know to give them a try.
