I love Pasta Vita! I have never been disappointed with their food, their service, their catering, and the overall atmosphere. I have had their food on multiple occasions and not only is it better than anything I could ever cook but it's better than many...restaurants that I have been to. Whenever I visit Old Saybrook, Pasta Vita is one of my first stops. I love the variety of soups, salads, appetizers, gourmet main dishes, bread, and desserts. The staff is always friendly, the food always fresh and delicious. There is nothing better! You are missing out if you don't try them...I promise you won't be disappointed!More

I have been going here off and on for years. Pasta Vita caters to Shoreline shoppers that are willing to pay their prices because they can't or won't cook for themselves. Unfortunately it's not that great. I've bought rancid food, expired food, over salted ,...over oiled food-food I through out. You want Pad Thai? Go to a Thai restaurant. Check out there is dismissive and rude. The place is over crowded. All and all I'm looking forward to Whole Foods opening in OS to give these guys a run for their money. With all the Pasta Vitas opening all over Ct-you think it's gotten better? Um no.More

We have been shopping at the We have been shopping at the Mohegan Sun location for years. In November, we had a really bad experience with the staff at the Mohegan Sun location. Recently we noticed the entire cold case of tiramisu with expired dates...on every package and there's a little sticker over the "best by" date. We think that is gross and maybe is it a health code violation?? We went in on Nov 20th and asked the cashier about this issue. She was a new employee and did not have an answer and there was no manager in the store. We went in again on November 30th, the covered up date on the serving of tiramisu was November 23. When we pointed this out to the staff, first we got different answers. "Oh it's a mistake, the tickets were printed wrong", "Oh don't worry, I know it's fine" and "the tiramisu was frozen, but now we can sell it". One staffer was really loud (even with a mask). When we asked her to stop yelling and could we speak with a manager, now since the place was empty, 5 or 6 staffers were all yelling at us trying to get their version of the story out. Multiple staffers kept yelling at us, hey if you don't want it, don't buy it. My husband kept trying to say they shouldn't sell food with expired dates that are just covered up with a sticker. When the manager showed up her answer was that my husband was being rude and should leave the store. Was my husband wrong for pointing out you shouldn't sell food with little stickers over the expired dates? Is there any customer service department at Pasta Vita? Or is this what Pasta Vita has become? You can sell anything, any way you want. "Hey if you don't want it, don't buy it". We emailed this info the Saybrook location thinking that was the main store in December. We had an immediate reply that our email was forwarded to Corporate and we would receive a response shortly. And that was the last we heard. Nothing from Corporate, or anyone else.More

We'd heard of Pasta Vita from several people and finally decided to give this place a try when we were in the area, and were not disappointed. They have a staggering number of choices, with everything from chicken dishes and pastas to vegetarian options. The...portions are very generous, so you should have leftovers to last you for a while. The service was a bit slow even though they weren't too busy, but the food was worth it.More

We had unexpected guests coming for lunch so I quickly picked up some summer chicken salad, chickpea and gorgonzola salad. Our friends loved everything. Always so good.

Even though food was good, service and attitude were horrible. Ordered food a day in advance. Traveling a good distance. Specifically asked for food to be warm when we picked it up. Woman said can they can only do that if paid for in advance...with credit card. Fair enough, so we paid over the phone in advance. Next day weather was bad. Called and let them know we would be there at 5:30, not 4:30 as planned. They said they close at 5:30 and would leave in vestibule outside. Seemed rather rude when we would be there at 5;30. Arrived at 5:31 and food was outside, even though they were letting a man and his child inside at the same time. Then we discovered food was ice cold! (Not from being delayed an hour - they never warmed it up at all!) Called them on it. Women said you have to order a day in advance and pay for it with a credit card to have it warmed up when you pick up. We said that is exactly what we did. Woman said no you didn't, I was the one was on the phone with you yesterday. She either outright lied or is grossly incompetent. Food was good, but overpriced. Service, as described, was horrible. Will never order from there again.More

We have a Pasta Vita meal at least once a month. Yes, it is that good. Entrees change and favorites can be sold out at times. They stock both fresh and frozen. The frozen are just as good heated as the fresh samples of the...same item. The only strike against them is they under salt. I suspect that is to not affect those with a salt based problem. That is easily remedied at home.More

A big selection with everything from party sized dishes like lasagna to single desert servings. Great soups but a little expensive. Most of the dishes aren’t as large as they used to be. Figure service one and a half not the two that it was...a few years ago.More

My sister suggested stopping on the way home to pick up some dinner. We were thinking lasagna but saw the shepherds pie and went for it. It was a great choice! Too bad that I may never get to try more of their offerings as...I am just a visitor to the area.More

You know a place is good when it's always crowded. And this is no exception. The menu is huge, I have no idea how they do so many things well. If you like Italian this is the place to get take out dinners to warm...up and serve at home. Try the Garlic Bread it is the very best I have ever had.More
