A really cute place with about 7 tables or so. Clean, friendly service and good food. We had miso soup and sushi rolls. Will return.

I live relatively close and I buy their miso soup all the time. It's a small place, but staff are friendly and the food is good. Their sushi is also good. Make sure you have cash! (Only form of payment taken)

One of those little hole in the wall places that outshines all the rest. I love the hibachi dishes. My wife and daughter have made it their mission to work through every delicious sushi dish on the menu.

First visit to this family run, small cafe. It's one of those great little place that is a gem of a find. They have very tasty sushi. We had Kani salad which was a deal on price, a nice portion and taste in every bite. The pork potstickers must have been handmade. Light pastry fried just crisp and amazing flavor.... More

Absolutely delicious. Consistently great sushi! I love that they have low sodium soy sauce on the tables. Simple and unassuming, I never would have tried this unless recommended. The only downside is cash only.

This is Newington's gem and a must visit. The food is like no other. I have had other hibachi or sushi and the taste simply does not compare to Tokyo Cafe's. But it doesn't stop there at the food. The packaging of the food, the service, compassion and dedication this family puts into their business. They only have 1 day... More

It's true..."good things come in small packages", because this little place is a GEM !!! Good, friendly service, great prices and a nice relaxing ambiance. But the food...AMAZING ! which was apparent not only because it was packed in the restaurant (5-6 tables), but their "take out" business is just as popular ! Can't wait to go back ! ps:... More

I discovered this place last year nearly by accident. As a sushi "newbie" I had only ever tried Sushi California in Newington but now...Tokyo is my go-to place! (I'm all about the rolls menu)Its a small family run establishment, which I feel good about supporting. The food quality is as good (if not better!) than Sushi California is in my... More

Small and cosy, this family-run restaurant has good fresh sushi as well as a variety of hibachi dinners and teriyaki. Sue and her husband will greet you as you walk in the door! There seems to be a good take-out business here. Just be forewarned that this restaurant is very small. There is ample parking near the front door. Bring... More

Call me, Knucklehead. I've been working in this neighborhood for 15 years and just this past Tuesday discovered "Tokyo Cafe" — about 500 yards from my office. Lunch was so good and so tasty, I went back again the very next day (Wednesday) and it was even better. Here are the details: This is a tiny restaurant in a tired,... More
