Simply perfect, I go to many restaurants on a weekly basis due to my work and this one has an easy 5 stars. This place in this historic building, right next to Yale, has top of the range service, quality food extremely well cook, best seafood ever too. Excellent wine list, hardly anything mainstream. I highly recommend this place.

We went to this high end french restaurant again to give it another chance after a disappointing experience a year ago. The location of Union League is amazing - a Victorian style room with stained glass windows. Ambiance is top notch. Unfortunately the food is mixed and the service poor. Our mussel appetizers were excellent while my wife's salmon looked... More

We had a lovely dinner here and the review say it all. The food is excellent, service was outstanding - especially for New Haven. It is about the best you can get outside of major cities like New York and Boston. Expensive, but worth it compared to the many "nice restaurants" in the area that charge nearly as much and... More

In the past we have been very critical of the quality of service of at Union League but our dinner last night was extraordinary. We had Sherwin as our primary waiter and he was exceptional. While we have always thought the quality of food here was great, the poor service has always left us hesitant to come back more regularly.... More

The food is impeccable, and the specials can be inspired. The vegetables are cooked but crisp, the main dishes (a pasta for me, fish for my wife) were excellent. The sauces, gravies, salad dressings and other concoctions are delicate but flavorful, with lots of interesting combinations to tempt. The service is very attentive without being obsequious or snooty. They get... More

This is a very good restaurant. Really delicious food and an excellent wine list. The service is upscale, and though it can be very slow, probably about the best available in this college town, where there are few restaurants with a sense of style. It's expensive and there are certainly better values in town, but there's probably no where better... More

Our Family enjoyed our first visit to this renowned New Haven Restaurant to celebrate my wife's Special Birthday! The ambiance is elegant and a rare find today! The cocktails and entrees were fantastic. Each of us were delighted with our selections and our gracious server. We now have a new favorite for our visits to Southern Conn.

We have not been to Union League since 2001, but it was every bit as good as we had remembered. . The historic architecture and elegant service, combined with fine food, make this restaurant a wonderful experience. We dined on a Thursday, during Restaurant Week and ordered the Restaurant Week Tasting Menu (with accompanying wines). Our portions were very generous,... More

very expensive and you don't get enough food; ;however, many people do like going there for the atmosphere and the French food. I am not a fan of this type of food and find I am hungry after eating there
