Very nice restaurant in New Haven, old school charm but food is very nice. Very extensive and expensive wine list and a nice food menu. This is not a cheap restaurant but you pay for good food and very good service.

The room is cozy and impressive. The welcome and the service were outstanding, Daniel our server. did a fantastic job. For appetizers, we chose oysters and foie gras (with Jurançon moelleux): tasty, well prepared foie gras and duck terrine. For the main course: a fantastic piece of skate with lentils and mustard. Fresh fish and delicious combination. Sorbet and espresso... More

Each year for Christmas my family gets together to enjoy great dining experiences instead of exchanging lots of presents. Christmas Eve at Union League is the highlight of the holiday celebration. Fabulous food and wine list along with excellent service make this a special treat we all look forward to every year!

We have had dinner or lunch many times in the past, but had never tried the New Year's Eve special dinner. So, this year, we did. The menu choices were all extremely tempting, so it was difficult to make decisions: it was a 4-course dinner, each course proposed at least 4 options from, every single one of them was superb... Let me begin by saying that if I am dining out and spend $300+ on dinner for 3 I want to be wowed. WOWED. On the upside, the wait staff at Union League are beyond superb, professional and very attentive which is rarely found these days in the restaurant business. The food however...well it was just ok to be honest.... More

This is hands-down, my favorite restaurant in the north-east. The food is consistently impressive. I experience food flavor bliss every time I eat here. I try something new every time I eat here, and I am never disappointed. The wait staff are good and the atmosphere is perfect.

I had lunch with my daughter to celebrate the end of the semester and beginning, almost, of several weeks without the stress of graduate student life. Having myself lived in New Haven for six years a while ago, I had often walked by the restaurant but never dined. I am so happy I finally did. Union League is a New... More

Great setting for special occasions; birthday, anniversary, promotion, celebration. The food is fantastic, the wine menu extensive. It's hard to find anything wrong with the Union League. The owner also has a small place in Madison, Bar Bouchee.

Brought an old friends son for lunch and found the food and ambiance as good as I remember it from my last visit. It holds sentimental value for me as I was brought to this restaurant at an interview where the company had a strong desire to have me join them. My starter of oysters was superb and approved by... First the food. Words cannot describe how delicious the food was. We had the escargot, the fois gras for appetizers, then the chicken and beef for main. Everything was cooked perfectly especially the beef. I asked for a medium rare and it was tender, juicy and the right amount of rare. The staff were so friendly and lovely - huge... More
