The black bean soup is wonderful, the salads are great, service is brisk and helpful, and the bread, made by affiliated Chabaso bakery, is top notch. Go when you're touring Yale's art museum across the street

Books! I had to buy one. The service is good. There were people wandering around asking if you needed help. You can sign in at the front counter and they go shopping. They will come find you. Then I had great coffee and yummy pancakes. The lunch at the table next to me looked great. We had about a 10... More

Love that you can buy the baked goods and breads as carryout. Great bread--we love the cranberry pecan! While the atmosphere in the cafe is lovely--filled with great books and conversations, when there is a long wait we just take the baked goods home and try to replicate the experience. Wish they were more "laptop user friendly". They tend to... More

Stopped in for lunch with some local friends. We all ordered a variety of things to share. We sat at the counter. Our server was very nice. I quickly lost my appetite when I saw the person preparing our food washing dishes without washing his hands. I witnessed the servers washing dishes then delivering food with out washing hands. I... I've been here a few times before, mainly to browse the books. The staff picks section always pulls me in because it has a good variety curated from around the shop. On my last trip, I stopped in on a cold Saturday night with a few friends from out of town. We ordered warm drinks. I personally recommend the mocha... More

Good for sandwich, drinks, and light food. Good service, what we had was satisfactory. The picture of the sandwich says it all.

Good lunch and breakfast fare. Soups, sandwiches (the baked goods are especially good), coffee, pastries. A good place to stop between visits to the Yale University and the Yale British museums and for a pick-me-up before the ride home. Take some of the bread or rolls with you.

We found Atticus using our tripfinder app. after a long day of touring different colleges. This coffee-cafe-bookstore is just minutes away from Yale. We needed a quiet place for a pick-me-up before we had a long drive home. I'm so glad we found this place! The atmosphere is perfect. Filled with books, but not cramped or stuffy. Lots of light... I like this spot it's busy but not overly busy like the Starbucks across from them they mostly have standing room because the kids are back for school and uses it for study as well but that Starbucks is very nice too. I had perfect little Macchiato later had their chicken and jalapeño soup delicious. Must try if on menu... More
