We like Chinese food and the best restaurant for us Great Taste in New Britain ct. amazing people working there. Very friendly always helpful. Food is Great. If you have allergies for some food just tell them a lot of product I can’t eat. Never had any problems. We going there around 20 years at listen ones a month

Nice to find a good Chinese restaurant in this town. Menu clearly geared to Western tastes but food well prepared. Excellent front of the house staff - quick, unobtrusive. Steamed dumplings - filling tasty, wrappers a bit too heavy. Beef with snaw peas, moo shu pork, way above average. Hot and sour soup, outstanding. Curry chicken, so so, but our fault for ordering it in a a Chinese place.

Special Place for Chinese Cuisine

Loved the service and the food - so many excellent choices to choose from it's hard to make a decision. We had the Moo Shu Chicken and House Special Chow Fun with an appetizer of Coconut Shrimp. Totally Delicious!!!

Typical American Chinese Menu

The restaurant is beautiful. The food is typical American Chinese. The only authentic dish I found on the menu was the Peking (Beijing) Duck. My Chinese wife and I ordered it, but were disappointed. The duck had a musty smell and the waiter wouldn't let us roll our own, which is just silly. He rolled what looked like burritos instead of the traditional slim rolls. I've eaten Peking Duck several times in China and there is a world of difference. I've also tried a few of the American dishes at this restaurant on another occasion, but they were way too salty.

By far the worst Chinese food I've ever tasted

Honestly, I want to believe that there was some mistake with the order or maybe there was a new chef because the Sesame Chicken I got was horrible. First, the "chicken" were large flat slabs instead of the traditional chunks which threw me off. Almost like the beef you get in lo mein but bigger. Then there was the "sauce". It must have been the right order because there were sesame seeds in it, however it literally had the taste and consistency of water. So much so in fact that it leaked through the plastic lid and all over the bag. By this time I had already mixed it with my rice so that was ruined...although honestly when I tasted it by itself it was not very good anyway. I wound up giving some of the chicken to my dogs and then threw the rest out which sucked because I look forward to my leftovers. Perhaps just one bad experience but I can't see myself giving it another chance with so many options out there.

Surprisingly bad food here.

Hard to describe the disappointment. Seems the chef decided to bathe everything in loads of thick , sticky red sauce that masked 100% of the taste of the underlying food. Food did not look inviting at all. The sauce cannot be healthy either.

Just another Chinese restaurant

The food here is your basic Chinese restaurant. The food here is good but it's nothing special. For the cost nothing was "wow" Don't do take out they have gotten our order wrong more than once. After the third time I asked for a refund and didn't get it. So we no longer order from here.

Great taste is my all time favorite Chinese restaurant. You are always greeted at the door. They have an amazing staff that gives attentive service. Shout out to Mun on this visit. For me, Great taste sets the bar for all other Chinese restaurants.

Poorly prepared fast Americanized Chinese Fast food

While the atmosphere was good, except for the popular music, which you could not get away from, and the service was fast, the food was a huge disappointment. We had two dishes for lunch which came with soup. The soup was OK but the hot and sour, which did have a lot of mushrooms, was neither hot nor sour. The biggest disappointment were the entrees - the pork fried rice was orange with a few pieces of pork, like something out of a mix; the Szechuan shrimp was mostly chopped onion in a moderately sweet ketchup like red sauce- it had a few small canned sized shrimp- with what appeared to be defrosted broccoli. The Moo Shu pork came pre-wrapped with was said to be brown rice but looked like tinted white rice. This place had been recommended to us by a well-meaning couple, but we suggest you look for a Chinese restaurant in near- by New Haven or elsewhere where there may be more people who are familiar with good Chinese cooking.

Oriental food - whether Chinese or Japanese - is my favorite. I was disappointed in the number and quality of Asian restaurants here. My family checked reviewsand chose Great Taste Chinese Restaurant in New Britain, based on the reviews and a perusal of their menu. I was delighted with the choice and looked forward to supper. Great Taste y has the best interior I have seen in a Chinese restaurant outside Honolulu. It was half-full. We were taken to our table, off in a far corner away from the rest of the customers.. We did finally get some hot tea. While we were waiting to be noticed in our distant corner, we looked around at what we could see of the decor from our far corner of the restaurant and sipped our glasses of water. We got some hot tea. We waited a long time to give our order. I ordered General Tso's Chicken , fried vegetable dumplings and Moo Shu chicken.. My dishes had a LOT of cabbage, which is not a good thing. The large amount of cabbage that filled the dumplings and moo shu was cold and under-cooked.. There was too much cabbage and not enough of other vegetables. My server insisted on assembling the moo shu chicken. He did a bad job: the wrappers were in ribbons, the sauce was all over the place and I had to try to eat the mess without getting juice all over myself. I give the restaurant five stars for decor and one star for service and food. I'll eat my next Chinese meal in New York or Honolulu. . I'll eat my next Chinese meal in New York or Honolulu.

Went with friends and had the Chinese New Year 4718 (year of the rat) menu. Tangerine prawns were very tasty as was the beef teriyaki salad. Service was very good.
