We made reservations for Valentine’s Day and I am so glad we did! First of all the restaurant is beautiful with wonderful waterfront views. You have the option to dine inside or outside, we chose to dine inside with a beautiful view of the water. The service was exceptional from start to finish. They were helpful with the price fixe menu and were on top of every question and request we had.
For starters we had an excellent bottle of red wine-Rioja. For appetizers my girlfriend had the calamari and I had the ceviche. Both appetizers were fresh and delicious. So flavorful! For our second course my girlfriend had the salad and I had the most wonderful cup of lobster bisque. Normally I prefer my bisque on the thicker side but this one was very tasty and left me wanting more. For our entrees we had the salmon and the French cut pork chop, I asked them for veggies instead of the yuca and they were really good. The salmon was cooked perfectly and my pork chop was cooked to the perfect temperature (medium) and was so delicious.
We definitely plan on coming back when in the area and hopefully dining at the patio. The menu looks to be packed with so many other great options.

I heard this was one of the best restaurants in Mystic and decided to give it a shot. The hostess was super nice and was smiling to me from the moment I opened the door. My waitress came to the table 3 times only and all the other things I needed I had to waived my hand to other waiters and to the hostess herself.
The Oyster Stew was great. OMG! I enjoyed it so much, I should have order a larger portion.
The Octopus a La Plancha was over cocked, tasted as over due, and by looking at the presentation of the dish you could tell the chef was in a hurry. What is incredible is that I paid a lot of money for this dish.

Food, service, atmosphere are all very good. My husband and I went on Valentine's night where the menu was fixed. Appetizers of oyster toquitos and tuna very fresh and delicious. Second course of lobster bisque and caesar salad tasty. Pork chop and surf and turf although small was expertly prepared and quite good.
Now the but. We understand on Valentine's night many places must limit the menu and, given this Covid environment, we understand paying a little more. In fact it is our responsibility to support the locals. However, $9.50 for a domestic beer, $14.00 for house wine, and $19.50 for a glass of a mass produced bourbon Maker's Mark is excessive and quite frankly wrong. We understand making up lost revenue, but the drink costs took away from an otherwise fine evening.
That said, S&P is worth a visit, just be forewarned.

The waiter arrived at our table and coughed into his hand, then set my napkin for a drink on the table with his wet finger marks on the napkin. When my drink arrived, it tasted disgusting, I returned my drink for a bottle of beer. My beer came with a dirty glass that still had food on it. I still was willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt. I was starving and hoped that the food would make up for the bad experience thus far. NOT A CHANCE! My food arrived and my swordfish steak was overcooked, dry and like chewing on a piece of wood. I sent it back and the waiter offered to get me something else. By then, I had lost my appetite and just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Anyone who reads the bad reviews posted on this restaurant, you better believe they are true. Over priced crap!! You are better off finding some other place on the outskirts of mystic.

Great location right on the Mystic River adjacent to the drawbridge and right on the main drag with shops, boutiques and restaurants. Had reservation but asked to wait as table not ready. Went upstairs to the bar, had wine while we waited. Called for our table but again had to wait outside by hostess stand in the hot, humid weather until they were ready to take us to our outdoor table. Server didn't show for at least 10 minutes and was less than attentive the entire evening. Seems most restaurants we encounter these days are very short on staff and can't get help!!! This is clearly a result of unemployment comp being provided by the current administration as it is too widespread to be the result of local conditions!
Calamare was tasty but a little tougher than it should be. The bouillabaise was plentiful and had 3 types of fish, shrimp. mussels, calamare in a spicy broth and was very good. The pasta mariscos had scallops, shrimp and mussels in a creamy but too heavy sauce.
Overall would return but would hope service would improve.

Stopped in for a late lunch. Well spaced seating for COVID and every table has a nice waterview. It was not that crowded which is why I did not understand why service was Soooo slow. Menu was limited and I thought very pricey. For ordering only appetizers and a couple of drinks, paying over $100 with tip was pricey. The cost of the green salad was a bit much for a very basic, and what amounted to be the size of a side salad. The seafood potato skins were good but not great and again way overpriced. The side of focaccia bread was very hard, not warmed. The only really good item was the seafood crepe. Wine was also pricey. There are better places in the Mystic area with finer food and better prices.

Dear DFS60, Thank you for mentioning our view and seating. Our staff has been working extremely hard since June to remain diligent with all of our Covid protocols and some of these can cause some delays in service. We are however disappointed to hear you thought our food was overpriced. We pride ourselves in creating a fine dining experience and serving dishes with the freshest, highest quality ingredients that are locally sourced and feel as though our pricing reflects those values. We do hope you allow us another opportunity to impress you in the future, you will not be disappointed!

My sisters had eaten here before, so we were excited to revisit. The restaurant is in the perfect spot on the water. We asked for reservations for the outside patio, BIG MISTAKE. The restaurant did NOT have adequate umbrellas and everyone was frying in the sun. The ice in our water literally melted within minutes - an adequate umbrella would have made all the difference. We asked to be moved to a shady table and was told "the sun comes around anyway, not worth it" it would have been worth it because it was shady longer than our table. Despite the large staff running around - and a nice waiter, he and his ass't were not attentive. Meal took way too long. Thai Calamari was excellent - the bay scallops and shrimp polenta did not have much flavor. All in all, a big disappointment. Will not go back.

We do try and pace our service a little slower than most restaurants to allow our guests to really enjoy the experience. We hope you may reconsider and maybe try dining inside, overlooking the river. Saturday 8/1/20 - Dinner Service
I took a vacation last weekend to Mystic, CT. A few friends suggested I go to S&P for oysters and drinks. The line was huge but I was determined to wait I was told it would be 60-90 minutes wait. Moments later I was somehow brought to a cocktail table on the second floor where Erica and Hunter took care of me.
Hunter my initial server was on point and was very knowledgeable of the menu and cocktails they provided. Eventually, Erica began taking care of me as well. I enjoyed a raw bar smaller, mussels, and then my entree was one of their dinner specials in which Erioca let me change out the pork for steak.

Had an excellent experience dining this afternoon at S and P which was a lovely lunch with great service. Very professional staff greeted us and seated up promptly.We eat outdoors and started with an appetizer of fried oysters with a delicious sauce.
That was followed by a scallop and shrimp With asparagus and grilled polenta. Hunter the server was excellent and checked in many times as we enjoy your outdoor lunch. Felt very satisfied with the product and I would highly recommend to any visitors especially those who are interested in grabbing seafood of high-quality.

S&P Oyster is conveniently located between the Seaport and the cute shopping strip. Although we were there on a very dark and rainy evening, the views during the summer would be beautiful. The service was great, the drink menu good and the food was delicious. My only complaint was the restaurant was not able to get lobster and that took many things off the menu. However, the chowder was excellent. Both the rocket salad and the kale salad were very good. The bacon wrapped scallops, tuna and flourless chocolate cake were all awesome.

Restaurant was busy which we thought was a good sign. Wanted to try Bravo Bravo but it was closed. My brother and I had the filet mignon which was excellent but neither of us was thrilled with the poletta fries. My sister in law and my wife both had the seafood pasta which they thought was very good. The one drawback was the service. We had 2 servers which seemed a bit strange and contrary to more should be better it wasn't. Service was slow and a couple of times we sat and waited and waited for requested items. To make it worse they both seemed to have attitudes which just made it worse. Bottom line food was excellent service POOR. We opted to get dessert at one of the local ice cream shops.

This is a nice seafood restaurant that offers a number of flavorful as well as some pedestrian dishes. All are well prepared and the only negative is that some are not as inspiring from a flavor perspective as they could have been. The service is prompt and professional and the wine and cocktail offerings will satisfy all. The restaurant offers a very nice view of the water.

Don’t want to feel that. We inquired about the surf and turf. The server shared that you could get and add shrimp, lobster and all the fixings by customizing. It was misleading. He omitted that although you could customize, the add ins would be a la carte.

S&P Oysters is located near the downtown historic mystic and serves nice oysters and lobsters dishes. We ordered a few of their specialties that can be seen in the photos, all taste delicious and enjoyable. Services were fast and efficient, while pricing is reasonable and ambience is quite nice. The view from the restaurant is also quite nice especially if your seating near the window, so can see the river and its famous bridge. Worth to visit while in Mystic.

Melissa and Mandy were absolutely amazing. They helped us pick our meals from so many yummy options. We had the oysters and a ala carte surf and turf. The oysters were fresh and tasty, the steak was perfectly cooked and the lobster was great. Cracked and just the meat served. The view and setting of our outdoor dining was perfect. Melissa and Mandy were very accommodating and totally rocked!! Every staff member truly combined to make the entire night amazing and memorable. It was the best night out I've had in a long time. This is a solid restaurant. Thank you for making the night truly amazing. (I swear it's not the wine talking).
