My wife and I stopped at the diner to order take out. We each ordered a Roast Beef Sandwich on a roll. The individual that took our order was friendly and courteous and within 10 minutes our order was ready. The sandwiches were excellent and we would go back. (Classic Roast Beef Deli Sandwich $10.00 - served with lettuce and tomato on choice of bread)

The place was huge so no lines and no waiting, yay! The service was excellent and the food was very good. My sister and I got a burger, the blue cheese one was soooo good. My mom got the clam chowder and an order or calamari, both were excellent. The calamari was so tender and the burger were cooked to perfection. The espresso martinis were amazing, went down like water and the have an awesome peanut butter shake that we just couldn't leave behind!

We stayed at the hotel next door and were told we got a discount with our room key, so due to this and it’s close location, we tried it. We walked over from our hotel and arrived around one hour before closing. We were told they were only serving breakfast and lunch, and were down to one waitress so we had to wait until some other tables had left. We waited about 10- 15 minutes and were seated. Waitress was friendly, but service was slow due to only having one. I assume covid is the cause. Even though it was a little slow, it was still good. The food was delicious, we ordered the chicken tenders, (surprisingly they are only listed as an appetizer and not a regular menu choice), the turkey and potatoes, and breakfast of eggs, bacon and hash browns with toast. I was expecting two or three slices of bacon and my plate came out with 8-10! Several other people came to the door as we were waiting for our food and eating that didn’t want to wait, but it was definitely worth it. The food was amazing and the staff was friendly. We would definitely eat there again if in the area.

On our way home from holiday trip and stopped at the diner (N.Y.,Ct usually have great diners!) for the first time. Ordered Greek salad with Greek dressing but upon arrival, Greek salad was everyday salad with sprinkling of feta accompanied by few dolmas.... no Greek dressing nor hot peppers! How can they not have Greek dressing for Greek salad and why did server never tell me till he delivered? I would not have ordered!! Server never returned to check in meals, fill water, etc. when I complained to owner at register she inquired about why I didn’t like meal but said nothing more. I’d expect a bit more customer service (apology? Explanation?) and better service not to mention quality..... and the owners were Greek I think!! Even I know that appropriate dressings use oregano; we often go out and I get Greek salads. Disappointing given there are many good diners around exits. Will skip this one next time we stop in Mystic.

I recently stayed at the Howard Johnson Inn next door to the Mystic Diner, and went to the diner for breakfast, for two mornings, on Columbus day weekend. Monday morning it was much busier than Tuesday, but I was able to get right in and sit at the counter. Staff were very friendly and attentive both visits, although on Tuesday, the hostess sat me but didn't give me a menu, so I had to wait several minutes for the server to notice. The food was a good value overall and there are plenty of choices! Breakfast all day so I could sleep in and still get some good breakfast food! The first morning, I had chocolate chip pancakes, which were excellent, but a bit different, with the chips on top vs, in the batter. I also had 2 eggs over hard, home fries, bacon, and toast. All were good! Large portions! Second morning, I got the spinach and mushroom omelet, had asked for bacon too, but server Betsy forgot to add it, and realized when bringing it out, but it wasn't a big deal, and she was very apologetic. I turned down bacon on the side as I was in a bit of a hurry to get back home after my meal. The omelet was perfectly cooked and had plenty of mushrooms and spinach, and swiss was perfectly melting throughout. On Tuesday am the breakfast potatoes were a bit under cooked and greasy/oily. Better on Monday but still a bit greasy. Overall, I would definitely return again if in the area, and because I was staying at the HOJO, I got 10% off with my room key! Staff were friendly, attentive, food comes out fast, tastes good, is a good value, plenty of variety, and I definitely recommend to others!

This establishment is a classic diner with everything you'd expect-- a large choice of dishes on the menu, including multiple all-day breakfast items, booth seating, and prompt service. It's not fast food, it's Diner food so it's not a long wait and the atmosphere is just what you'd expect. It's just down the street from the Seaport Museum and immediately close to I95. There's one caveat: if you go when the weather is cold, sit on the left side (as you come in the door), not on the right because the right side is apparently very poorly heated, so much so that people tend to keep their coats on in that part!

We went to Mystic Diner since our hotel wasn’t offering free breakfast and the restaurant in the hotel was too expensive for what they were serving. We were so glad we went to Mystic Diner. The food is top-notch and phenomenal. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The homemade donuts are to die for. A must go at least a few times while you were in Mystic

For the past couple of weeks I've been getting Take Out for my husband and myself and my cousin who is in a long term care facility nearby. Unfortunately he is physically unable to leave er this placement. Sooo, I've been bringing lunch to him, so we could eat together while we visit. Each week, I order a different lunch for each of us, and we have not been disappointed even once. My husband really liked the BLT Salad, my cousin really enjoyed their rare roast beef sandwich, and I really liked the Taco Salad. We've each enjoyed their chocolate desserts as well as the Carrot cake They are always fresh and rich.

Bypassed our hotel breakfast opportunity thinking the diner would be a little cheaper and more variety. Bad choice. My husband ordered the hungry man breakfast. Home fries were way under cooked, everything else was cold. I tasted a piece of the ham, it wasn't very good quality. My French toast was lacking. Coupled with being seated outside(which we requested) at a table that wobbled badly (and wasn't the only one), we weren't impressed at all. On a side note, the table next to us sent their food back for being cold as well. And we spotted through the window a ceiling tile that's hanging off an exhaust fan, over the dining area, and is badly in need of cleaning and/or replacement. Given the location of this establishment, less than a mile from the highway and surrounded by hotels in a high tourist area, I really expected more.

We used to love coming to this place every time we came back from NY to RI. We have been away a few years and came back after 5 years looking forward to coming here. We were greeted by a very unenthusiastic hostess who sat us directly next to another table and under air conditioning, even though the restaurant wasn't full. The server was good and her service was polite and efficient. I ordered the avocado on sourdough and it was good. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito and it was good. My daughters ordered pancakes and they enjoyed them. (Although one of my daughters threw hers up ten minutes down the road). I would like to give it more stars but the restaurant was dirty. There were plates on tables that hadn't been collected and dirty serviettes on the floor. There were plenty of staff standing around that could have easily collected these things but they didn't seem to notice. We were really disappointed in the overall experience after looking forward for so long to go back there.

Good morning, we are very sorry for your experience! I will personally look into this matter. As far as you sitting next to another table, we have installed plexiglass which is 30 inches above the table per state regulations. We hope to see you next time you are in the area.

I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast. The service was impeccable and all our food was cooked perfectly (which is very difficult). I had eggs benedict that were better than some I’ve had at a really expensive restaurant. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. The only negative was the coffee was too weak for my taste (but I like really strong coffee).

Stopped in after the aquarium for some dinner before driving home. Seemed ok Food was good. Well, the meat and potatoes in the yankee pot roast a anyways. The carrots were an afterthought being the little finger ones. The chili and clam chowder were ok even if they may have come from a can (not sure nor do I care) I kinda gave up on service after I asked for water and was kindly offered lemon. Then never got it. Or a napkin. Minor service issues. I saw the other servers doing a good job. The other thing I have issue with is the happy hour table advertisement on the table. I saw I was good from 2 to 5 so I pointed to an interesting drink that I wanted to for $5. While watching my server try to make it I noticed happy hour was Monday through Friday. They left it on the table on Sunday and didn't mention anything about it when I pointed to it sonthey got me for a $12 drink

This place is one of the few who serve breakfast at a reasonable price. It is ok for what it is but with all the quaint restaurants in Mystic I feel it is just utilitarian with little to no ambiance. If you just want to eat to fill your stomach then I guess this is the place. My husband got scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. It was big and as you would expect high in carbs. There was nothing wrong with it but the outdoor seating leaves some to be desired. The tables need to be leveled and some of the waitresses need to smile.

I went here because it was near by hotel and all the restaurants at the Old Mystick Village were packed. I had friendly service, no problem with that, but the food just wasn't too good. Chicken noodle soup was tasteless except for being overly salty. I got the teriyaki steak because I thought they would do okay with that, and they did - although don't imagine being asked how you want it prepared (it was medium). Baked potato also fine, but glazed carrots badly undercooked.

This place is located next to a hotel that's gone out of business, and its one main positive is that it's right off the Mystic exit from I-95. I generally like diners, but this was very much the exception. The place was busy, but by no means full when I entered. Nonetheless, the hostess directed me to sit at the bar even though a number of tables and booths were available. The waitress quickly took my drink order, but it seemed an eternity before she returned to find out what I wanted for lunch. Once I ordered, it took a full twenty minutes before the food arrived. A lot of the employees just seemed to stand around. There were several tables that had not been bussed, but the dirty dishes just sat there the whole time I was in the restaurant. I also saw the waitress walk past me numerous times without even asking if I wanted my iced tea refilled. Once I got my food, she shoved the check at me as if she were trying to rush me out. The food was all right, but certainly nothing special. The omelet I ordered arrived cold, and the French onion soup was surprisingly bland. For what it was, the prices struck me as extremely high. They're priced like a tourist trap rather than a diner. Honestly, should I return to Mystic, I'd eat almost anywhere else.

We are not a tourist trap. We work very hard to make every guest pleased, happy & full & wanting to return. I have never seen a host/hostess insist any guest sit at the bar~ we only offer the bar/counter when nothing else is available, it isn’t even part of a servers “section”.. so yes it’s very bizarre you insist they made you sit there.. when it makes no sense? It’s beyond my understanding even after having to personally look into this?? however, it for some inexplicable reason you were forced to sit at the bar? You have our apologies for this & everything else too.. Thank you for visiting the mystic diner, thank you for you business & for sharing your feedback. All feedback is helpful & for this you have our thanks
