This was our first visit to Trattoria Amalfi. The decor is very well done, the service was as good or better than any service we have ever experienced in any Italian restaurant and the food was excellent in every way. A dinner we will remember. Service was also fast, excellent and with attention to detail. Our sever, Pam, was way above par. Some might consider the prices high, however for the quality of the food and service it’s worth every penny.

Stopped by Amalfi for a small bite yesterday afternoon while shopping at Mystic Village. Bar staff Katie and Elana welcomed us smiling broadly. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Happy Hour menu had changed considerably. We started with offerings from the expanded raw bar featuring succulent shrimp, clams and oysters perfectly prepared at very affordable prices. In addition, we chose the clams casino which were delicious followed by a fresh, crisp Caesar salad. We finished our meal with a very tasty smash burger.
Our original idea for a quick bite quickly evolved into an early dinner largely because of the quality and quantity of the food offerings, the well curated drink list and the impeccable service and genuine friendliness from Katie and Elana. We were very happy that we stopped by!

A breath of fresh air! The decor is light and airy but still cozy and intimate. Angel, our server, was an encyclopedia of knowledge, from the smallest detail of the menu to the great variety of wines. He was very in tune to the needs of each of his guests, and made subtle adjustments to make us all feel comfortable and cared for. The food was outstanding, constructed of fine ingredients in portions that were satisfying and good value for the quality.

I had the pleasure of being able to check out Trattoria Amalfi in Olde Mistick Village tonight! The food was absolutely amazing! It couldn’t have been any better! We had the Baccala and Fried Zucchini appetizers, both of which were fabulous. The Zucchini was noodle sized and fried to perfection, and the seasoning was wonderful. It’s definitely a shareable size, but you won’t want to share it! We had the lobster pasta and the salmon. Again, both dishes were amazing. The lobster was cooked perfectly, and the salmon melted in your mouth. Desert consisted of the cheesecake and the blueberry gelato. The gelato transports you right to Italy! The staff was fabulous…friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable! I loved that we were asked about any allergies before ordering. The decor was beautiful, with incredible attention to detail! For those who were familiar with the previous restaurant in this location, you would never know it was the same space! It really made you feel like you were in Italy. Can’t wait to go back.

I must be living under a mushroom or something, because I read some of the reviews for this place below, and I don't see it at all the way people see it. Just because the place is super expensive doesn't make it good!
First of all the decor is meager. You want to see atmosphere? Go to Olive Garden!
I ordered the sea scallops, with charred eggplant, squash, tomatoes, and almonds.
What I got was some brown liquid on a plate, two slices of squash cut into pieces, don't recall any tomatoes or almonds.
Again let me say that. Two thin slices of squash cut into pieces!!!
And five scallops a little smaller than a half dollar.
No sides. No bread. No rolls...
All this pleasure for $33!
Expect to wait to be served...
Had we gone to Olive Garden, we would have had their unlimited salad with a very tasty dressing, unlimited breadsticks, and a main course that would cause us to wander out the front door -- stuffed -- with no room for dessert
That not being the case at Amalfi, we decided to go for the dessert. After somewhat of a wait before our dishes were cleared, the waitress came and gave us one menu, which we had to pass around to share...
Our empty water glasses remained...
I had the caramelized ricotta cheesecake with limoncello soaked blueberries and fresh cream...
What I got was a thick wedge of cheesecake that tasted like chalk. I must have had four blueberries - count them -- on the side, and the fresh cream was a dollop of Cool Whip -- on the side... 12$
Olive Garden, here we come!!!
and we won't run out of water (with no ice) there, either...

This is a beautiful restaurant with exciting food! Visually stunning, with great fresh, bright details everywhere! The bar is spacious and the bartenders are very attentive and make great cocktails! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the traditional Italian menu. The zesty Caesar salad had delicious crispy garlic, and the scallops with apricot vinaigrette was served in a very generous portion. The prices were fair and on par with other elite Mystic restaurants. A huge advantage (especially if you are dining with seniors or younger family members) is that this place has its own very large parking lot! I've been here a few times, and I'm already looking forward to going back!

Wow wow wow. Where do I begin!!! We had the raw bar and a variety of appetizers. The scallop dish off the raw bar was to die for. The rigatoni dish with house made pasta was so delicious and the server said that dish was also available gluten free for those that need it! We love an allergy friendly Italian dish! We tried four diff desserts bc we couldn’t decide! The brownie sundae was INCREDIBLE but really all the desserts were top notch. Whether you want a nice sit down dinner or just some appetizers and a cocktail this place is perfect. Light, bright, and fresh all the way around!

Upon entering AMALFI you instantly feel the charm of Italy. Beautiful tiles, a friendly greeting and big smiles. Our wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Katlyn was sweet, attentive and took the time to answer all our questions. After ordering drinks we were served the most amazing garlic bread with a savory cheese and a tomato sauce for dipping. My favorite was the cheese YUM! For starters my husband had the garlic Caesar salad, he enjoyed as the dressing was light not heavy. I had the Bacala, a lightly fried cod with garlic aioli which was amazing!! For main courses we had: Mafaldine, a shrimp and pasta with brown butter, garlic and lemon. The Cavatelli with sausage. Both were absolutely divine!!! We really didn't have the room but we couldn't resist ordering desert. The cheesecake with berries, a desert not to be missed. The chocolate lava desert is served with real whipped cream and is so chocolatey. In summary one of my best meals ever. A dinner experience that exceeds every expectation. We can't wait to go back.

My boyfriend and I were visiting from NYC for vacation and spent a wonderful day in Mystic. After shopping around Olde Mistick Village, we came by for dinner. Angel was our server and he was an absolute JOY. From the minute we sat down he made sure we had the best experience. He gave us great recommendations when we were stuck on what to order (Everything just looked amazing honestly) and even told us he would ask the chef to personalize our pasta if we wanted a different type of noodle. Limoncello spritz and Blood orangina were amazing, followed by Nana’s garlic bread (Bread made by local community bakery) , NY strip, lobster taglionini, and lemon crostata (Recommended by Angel) & blueberry gelato (Also locally sourced from nearby dairy parlor). The entire meal was to die for. We truly can’t remember the last time we had such amazing service, we didn’t have to ask for anything - not once. Thank you for the exceptional service and attention to detail Angel. It’s true when they say you come for the food and return for the service/experience. And this is a Michelin star worthy experience.

The food was beyond delicious. Wendy our waitress was knowledgeable and very friendly (we would definitely request her again) We started with garlic bead and Crispy meatballs. Amazing. Rigatoni Alla Norma and Pappardelle were both excellent. Entire waitstaff was helpful and friendly. We will go back again very soon.

Nice atmosphere, beautiful decor. There was not one dish that wasn’t liked, of course we had to try each others dishes. The scallop dish won hands down. Your espresso martini was absolutely delicious. Our party of four enjoyed each and every bite, even trying three different desserts. Food was wonderful but let’s just say our server , Rain,…aka Sarah, was phenomenal. She was attentive, not missing a beat while listing dishes. Friendly young lady who does her job well. Definitely plan to visit again.

Upon entering the restaurant the vibe was relaxing and welcoming. The decor was beautiful, the music was energizing but appropriate for dinner, and the screen savers on the bar TVs transported us to the European coast. We sat at a high top in the bar, but the space is expansive, and can accommodate large parties or intimate dinners. Our server was attentive, but also provided us with time and space to enjoy a night out. We began with items from the raw bar. The oysters and littlenecks were delicious. The colorful presentation of the littlenecks was stunning! The housemade gnocchi and cavatelli were equally delicious. The gnocchi was light and cooked to perfection, and the cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe would have made my Itallian grandmother proud. We finished the evening with the lemon crostata and chocolate torte cake. Simply delicious! We can't wait to go back!

A perfect lunch! Ventured to Mystic curious try out the new Italian spot in town! Being a big fan on their sister restaurant Via Emelia, I had high expectations, that were met and then exceeded! Caesar to die for, nice touch with the breadcrumbs in place of the tradition crouton. Housemade pasta dish with shrimp and a brown butter sauce brought back memories of some of my favorite restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. Fabulous drinks and ambiance too, what else could you ask for? WENDY, thats who!! Her passion for every detail made me feel like family, what an asset to an already top notch entity. Bravo, cannot wait to try dinner! Do yourself a favor and GO! I certainly cannot wait to return

We had heard a lot of positive feedback from friends and decided to go there for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere was excellent, food, drink and desert was superb. We had the pleasure of having Josh as our server…. Not only did he have an extensive command of the menu, but offered a great deal of knowledge about the various wines and dishes… very charming and personable. We had an outstanding experience and will definitely return.

This is the best Italian restaurant we have ever been to! The chef has an intimate knowledge of southern Italian cuisine that is not normally seen in the USA. We had the
parpardella with shrimp that was perfectly cooked! Our server Josh was attentive and his service was amazing! The Pino gregio was one of the best we have had in a very long time. If you would want an amazing taste of true Italian cuisine, the Trattoria Amalfi is the best place to go!
