Classic food is great but its very predictable of a menu and nothing that really stood out. They had a piano which was neat but the atmosphere in general could use a makeover. Food was fresh and cooked well but nothing extraordinary.

We were recommended to go here by some locals. It is quite a large place and filled with fabulous sketchiness of people and places. Quite dark but that gave it some atmosphere. Food was good as was the service .

I had their meatloaf with a glass of the house red wine. My wife got roasted chicken. Very tasty. Best meatloaf I have ever had. Very good chef. Piano player very skilled, but with a relaxed style, very pleasant. This place has been around a long time, won awards, and knows what they are doing. We loved out tasty dinners... More

I am so glad you enjoyed your evening last night, along with the food and music. Yes we have been here for 42 + years, and it is always a challenge to keep all facets inviting. To let you know, on the holiday weekends, we shorten up the regular menu to accommodate all the seasonal October visitors. I wish business... More

An absolutely delightful throwback to a time pre computers and way before "selfies," this authentic yankee charmer has never failed us. Have had lunches, brunches, dinners and their pub menu. The service is efficient and very professional. The ambiance is brilliant: cozy, with numerous booths and an abundance of free standing tables (yet ever seeming cavernous or ever empty). Whether... I had a late lunch here with my mother. The food was very good: I had the baked cod, and I was very pleased with it. The green beans that were served with it were exceptionally flavorful and cooked perfectly--not soggy and wilted, not crunchy. My mother ordered the seafood mac & cheese was wasn't impressed, but I could tell... More

I am glad you enjoyed your lost for the most part...and very sorry it took a much longer time than normal for the food to come from the kitchen. Knowing you will be back, is all I can ask for. Thank you for coming. Elissa Potts More

Obnoxious waiter. Even waiting 45 minutes for food to arrive, which was cold, and inedible. Was insistent that out tip of 15% was inadequate.

Dear Xankel I am very sorry you were so upset with your lunch. The next time you dine with us, and I do hope you will give us a 2nd chance, please introduce yourself so I can make amends to you in person. I am shocked when you write seriously inedible and continue your critique. Nothing like a public whipping... More

We have been going to this restaurant for many years now. It started when we would go to Lime Rock for the vintage car show during Labor Day weekend. We would drive down lovely RT 7 and stop in Kent for a late lunch. The Fife n' Drum is what we saw first and on the same side of the... More

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here over the Labor day weekend. One of the many dishes the restaurant is known for, is the roast duck which is carved and served table side. It did not disappoint. The staff are attentive, the wine list offers great choice. All and all, a wonderful meal.
