This is an old school restaurant - beautiful service, room and food. Great place to celebrate a special occasion. There is also a B and B too if you want to spend the night!

We had dinner at Thomas Henkelmann's last Saturday. Warm, comfortable ambience, good service (though no one ever asked if everything was all right or whether we wanted a second glass of wine. The lobster triangle appetizer was incredible, and much bigger than expected. Wonderful sweetbreads,...More

As overseas visitors, we have stayed at and dined at this restaurant/hotel on several occasions and the fine dining is excellent. However, do NOT even contemplate having a pre-dinner drink. The seating in the bar and lounge area is hopelessly inadequate, accommodating about 10 people...More

I started with the triangle of lobster, while my wife had the marinated salmon. For the main course we both had ribbons of dover sole stuffed with lobster. Everything was prepared in an excellent manner. The service was impeccable, and the surroundings were wonderful.

Superb service. Feels like a special occasion just being there. Best lobster I have ever had. So many classy little touches. Amuse bouche. Petit desserts with coffee. Not to be missed. Very old world. Classy, just classy.

Service is first rate (but you might want to avoid a full house when everything suffers... like on Valentine's Day). Ambiance is up scale and "Old House" wonderful. Food is often first rate but generally leaves something to be desired when ordering fish (which is...More

I have had the pleasure and privilege of a number of celebrations here over the years. An anniversary dinner for 30, many more intimate celebrations of whatever "big-0" birthdays with small groups of women, a recent celebration for a neighbor for perhaps 24 in a...More

We had not been to Thomas Henkelman in years and decided to celebrate something. This restaurant offers high-end Classic French fare. Everyone at the table commented how well the food was prepared. I started with the sweetbreads with an excellent truffle sauce. I then had...More

Very interesting, thanks for the feedback. We are actually European, and I agree. It is their view of how it is done in Europe, but I have never been treated like that in top notch European restaurants. We weren't... More
