My daughter wanted bbq so we ventured out and found this hidden gem in the center of a small CT town. The food was tasty and the service was good and friendly. It's a basic bbq place, nothing fancy, great for families with small kids.

Picnic day with my girls to search for Bald Eagles on the Connecticut River and we decided on BBQ. The reviews led us to the unfortunate destination of Porky Pete's BBQ. We ordered everything on the menu and went to the river with great hunger and looking for a great lunch and a great eagle watch. Sadly to say the... More

Came at closing time. They stayed open an extra 15 minutes to fill our take-out order. Got to talk with the chef as well as the other owners. They really are enthusiastic about the food they make using their family's secret recepies. They claim to have the best Bar B Q food north of the Mason Dixon Line! I think... More

Great food if you can find it! It's worth the short drive from the steam train or downtown if you want a great sandwich or meal.

Family owned, friendly restaurant with delicious smoked ribs, pork, brisket, etc and delicious homemade sides like "Texas caviar, Mac and cheese, homemade potato chips, Cole slaw etc. Casual, comfortable picnic tables, clean and cheerful. Nice outdoor seating. In beautiful little downtown Ivoryton, right near the historic playhouse. Not expensive.

There is only outside eating, and the while the sandwich is ok, it's not great. But then I'm coming form the south where there is real BBQ

Mouth-wateringly delicious hickory smoked pulled pork sandwich on a brioche bun. Great smoke flavor, a little spice in the sauce. Super cheap prices. My wife loved the Cole slaw as well. Hole in the wall joint, shares a building with the gas station, no real seating. Get some to-go food and enjoy.

I have eaten here several times. If you like BBQ you will enjoy this food. The cookies are excellent, too.

The pork was really good. Not over the top, but good. I will try again . Maybe things were prepared ahead of time .

Surprise!! Who woulda thunk it. Pete's has REALLY good pulled pork, ribs, brisket, etc. The potato salad is excellent. The BBQ is not "saucy" like Texas but more like Tennessee style. I always get it with the cole slaw.
