Just found this place and it was excellent. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It is a quaint place with a nice view of the marina and CT river. Abby makes all the food from scratch. We had the clam chowder which was fantastic. We also had burgers which were a generous size and excellent beef. Deserts looked great and... More

Had lunch at this small restaurant and thought their menu was interesting, the service good and the food wonderful. We had some wonderful sandwiches and wished it was warm enough to sit outside on their deck. I would recommend this restaurant and would like to try their breakfast as well.

Abby's was suggested to us as a good place to have lunch and we were not dissappointed. This is not a large place so things can get crowded but the food is very good and the service pleasant. This is a small boat yard eatery that has an outside deck in warm weather.

I went for late lunch, by myself. Ordered grilled crab sandwich, very tasty, salad that came with was just lettuce and added $5 instead of fries. Service very slow because 'help' did not show and boat show was in marina. I would eat there again for the sandwich.

We tried Abby's for the first time this weekend. It is a terrific lunch option in Essex. The atmosphere is relaxed and very casual, the food is excellent, and the service is friendly and attentive.

Excellent clam chowder, fish sandwich, BLT, quaint hot cider (seasonal). Homemade desserts, friendly staff, just a little tricky to find-follow the signs. Breakfast and lunch only. Outside tables available.

We stumbled on this place hidden in the marina. Not fancy, but very cute with a great menu, fresh local sourced ingredients, full bar, some great local craft beers, outside deck and a lot of charm. The staff was super friendly and Abby herself came over to check on us. Really nice. It is easy to overlook when it sits... More

Essex is a picturesque river town and this lovely restaurant has a commanding view of the Connecticut River as it makes its final turn towards Long Island Sound. In the summer especially but anytime during the year you will find wonderful food and casual dining here and a very friendly (and hard working) wait staff. Abby is the head chef... More
