We are locals and have had dinner here a couple of times, but never had their pizza. We have had good service and good food for dinners. But over the holidays with a house full of company we thought we would order pizza to take...home. What a disappointment!! My East Lyme pizza had maybe one or two pieces of chicken and broccoli on each slice.! The Polpette pizza had the same problem , very few pieces of meatball, and the Diavola was just as terrible with a couple pieces of pepperoni. The only pizza that was worth the money was the plain cheese! Only order pizza from here if you are on a diet and don’t want a lot of toppings.More

We were a group of 4 who totally enjoyed the dining experience. Service was fantastic, caring and complete from a young Albanian waitress. We started with the PEI Mussels (2), and Fritto Misto (2). Both were large, and excellent. We followed with Lasagna Bolognese, large...and delicious, veal parmesan which was again large and cut with a fork, chicken parmesan, also large and cut with a fork, and pan roasted scallops with Faro, also excellent. There were several desserts like cheese cake, tartuffo, ice creme and creme brule. Wine was good, and the liquor selection is extensive.More

Amazing! Every time we have dinner here we can’t stop talking about how great everything is. The pizzas are wonderful, the homemade pasta is phenomenal, the salads are fresh and interesting without being overpowered by generic dressings. I can’t recommend it enough. The service is...always great, every time. The olive oil is so good that I buy all my olive oil there now. You can tell the food is made with quality ingredients. Get the homemade taglioini di mare….it’s the best!!!More

My husband and I are new to the area and thought we would see how authentic this was a true Italian Restaurant. To begin with, they offer you Tap water or rip -off Sparkling water as if this was a 5 star restaurant. We tried...the Caprese salad , the 4 pieces of mozzarella were not fresh & and not quality ,watery the way fresh Mozzarella should be. The Pasta Fagioli soup was was salty. The frail specimen of a pizza was topped with bland tomato sauce and forgettable . The lasagna was made with salty ,greasy Bolognese sauce and the homemade noodles were mushy. This restaurant had no atmosphere , forgettable and do not understand the 5 star reviews. Service was cordial but not timely and the prices are too high priced IT is a One & Done.More

This is a high-end restaurant as demonstrated by the fine furniture, cutlery, dishes, salt and peppers grinders, olive oil on tables. The bathroom and tailored white shirts and an attitude of respect and willingness to please. The menu is creative and obviously chosen for the...season and quality ingredients that are available. Case Americano was as good as that in Italy. This is NOT a pizza parlor but fine dining at its best.More

This was our first visit to Il Pomod'Oro. We were attending a concert at Mohegan and had read many positive reviews about this restaurant. Although our reservation was fairly early, the place was already packed when we arrived. We were seated on the outdoor patio,...which was quieter but a little chilly. The owner did turn on the heat and it warmed up a bit. Service was very good and drinks arrived promptly. The nightly special was delicious! The bread was light as air and accompanied by a nice olive oil, which was also for sale by the bottle. My husband's pasta was tasty, as were the scallops I ordered. Prices are a bit above market, but the excellent service and lovely dishes are worth it Sadly, we weren't offered any limoncello at the end of the meal, which I always look forward to when visiting family restaurants. Other than that, it was a lovely evening.More

This restaurant is serious about the product they put out. Attention to detail is evident in the dishes and stemware. Our party of three all had appetizers, entrees and desserts. All dishes came out well timed and presented professionally. All food was well prepared. Service...was attentive and pleasant. I really enjoyed my time at il Pomod'Oro and will return.More

Spectacular food and olive oil. The service was amazing. The food was so good. Fresh homemade . Desserts were out of this world. Will be back.

I left without having dinner. Took 20 minutes to get someone to take our order. Pizza came out uncooked, but worse was no one came by to check, so my fellow diner FINISHED their meal before I could get help. Horribly uncomfortable, and this was...our second visit that was worse than the last. We are done with this place, it has slipped too far for the pricing. Too bad, it had promise.More

We were just stopping overnight in the area and sought out a decent place to eat after 8 hours of driving. We found this through online searches. We have not been eating indoors in restaurants since the pandemic started. We managed to have a seat...on the patio enclosed by windows; a window by us was opened for us. We took what is for us a risk as we hadn't eaten since early morning. What a fantastic food experience! The salads, the bread and dipping olive oil, the entrees... This place is truly something outstanding, and the service was phenomenal as well. Everything about this place is well thought out. . Don't miss it.More

Nicely prepared and presented Italian/Mediterranean dishes served in a Comfortable, Cozy, and Casual environment. Although 'Pizzeria' is part of their name, - and I'm sure that they are good, the menu transcends that of just a 'Pizzeria' and offers 'fine dining' opportunities as well.... The...small - but lively Bar was lively with chatter and inviting with 'smiley faces' The service was 'top notch' - our Server (Suelle - if I'm spelling that correctly) was 'on it' but un-harried and displaying aplomb in maintaining an easy rapport and orderly continuity of 'flow'.....
