Stopped off at this roadside pub for lunch on a Saturday. It was pretty full - we shared a table with a couple already eating their meal. Service was friendly and efficient, if operating to be hectic. Menu is reasonably long and varied. We both had the fish and chips, which came with peas and tartare sauce, and a sprig... More

A cyclical return to the most consistently excellent pub/restaurant. Always met by AJ and his keen and friendly staff. The regulars at the bar, the place is always busy yet relaxed. Regular changes to the nine Ales on offer, yes 'nine', then the Ciders etc. Then the food. Everything is always freshly prepared, proper Pizza ovens, best Rib-eye around, glorious... More

Called here for Sunday lunch whilst in the area and were lucky to get a table as a very busy and popular place. It's popularity is well justified as the quality of the food and the quantity was outstanding. The Five Bells also has its own micro-brewery so just a shame I was driving but managed to acquire some bottles... More

My wife and another couple and I had dinner at the Five Bells. It is incredible. The food - pies, a pizza and burger plus scotch eggs - beautifully cooked. Fresh ingredients, balanced portions, tasty. The service is exemplary. Just the right balance of attentiveness without being omnipresent. Very hospitable, accommodating and friendly. Will def recommend and hopefully be back.... More

I was at the Five Bells a year ago, and the service wasn't quite up to standard. However, I returned for Sunday roast this week and things were much improved. The staff were excellent; highly attentive without being overly so, and the pub itself is full of olde worlde village pub character. We all had the Sunday roast - the... More

The atmosphere felt authentic, warm and welcoming. The service was absolutely brilliant because everyone knew what they were doing. The food of course was great, it really doesn't get much better than what they served me! I would recommend this to families big and small because it is a wonderful place to dine.

We have been to the Five Bells several times now and, unlike many other places, they have always been consistently excellent. Their pies are the best we've ever had, and their shortcrust pasty is sublime! the staff are well trained and very friendly. Highly recommend a visit.

Scouting venues for an upcoming party, The Five Bells had been short listed. Have to say, it was right to be on the short list! The bar has real country charm, rough walls, tables with character; locals with dogs and very friendly bar staff. If you're into your real ales, this is by far and away the best place to... More

We met some friends of ours for lunch here. This is an old pub with low door and ceilings but a really warm and friendly welcome. It oozes history with its simplistic style and rustic charm. It is a real ale pub with some very interesting beers and you are able to take the bottled one's away. The food was... More

Have been here a few times now with my girlfriend and with friends. Really great Craft beer pub with brewery onsite, also you can takeaway beers in 4pint bags which is a common occurrence for us! Food is very good value for money homemade and fresh. Huge garden area out the back also dog friendly which is a bonus. It... More
