We ordered an antipasto, two pizzas and a Calzone for our group of four. The sulky waitress had to be reminded to offer us forks and knives . The antipasto arrived with four burnt to the crisp breadsticks and when we asked for a replacement we were told there weren't any more. Then the pizzas arrived. Completely black, the calzone... Lauretano definitely has the best pizza in Bethel. And, over the years, I think it keeps getting better. It seems that when they first opened the pizza had paper thin crusts and they were often burnt. No longer; they are thicker and more chewy and still have that great wood fire smoky taste. They are excellent. Other dishes are also... More

Laurentano's makes wonderful pizzas in a variety of combinations, including (for an extra six bucks) one made with imported buffalo cheese Mozzarella; if you like realy Mozzarella, it's a delicious treat. But it also has some other very good dishes: my favorite breadsticks (made with the pizza dough, and unusually chewy, fresh and flavorful), my favorite grilled shrimp (no, I... More

Great pizza and pasta/meatballs. I know meatballs and I noted how tasty they were THEN the chef said they were known for them - and they should be. One or two nightly specials are on the menu. When in this area you should seek out this inexpensive place.

We've heard great things about Pizzeria Lauretano so we had to try it. While the pizza was tasty, we found it very over-priced for what you got. Each pie is really a single-serving pie for a man. I'd choose other options in the area for a similar wood-fired taste at a more on-point cost.

My favorite pizza. Always perfectly cooked with just the right char. Love the champagne vinaigrette salad as well.

Funny, I don't think of pizza in regard to Pizzeria Lauretano although I enjoy the food immensely. First for me is the great jazz Michael brings to his place. For a reasonable cover, you can hear world-class jazz in an intimate setting on Sunday evenings (6 - 8:00). Reservations are a must or you stand a very good chance of... More

I live in NYC but eat more pizza at Lauretano's then I do in the city. This is my favorite pizza place in the area, and I try to go every weekend I'm in Connecticut. Its as close to you'll get to Napoli pizza, without the waits, poor service, and noise of Neapolitan pizza places in the city.

Despite some negative reviews, this restaurant is by no means an "average" pizzeria! The pizza alone is among the best I've had anywhere - with excellent cheese and tomatoes. The sandwiches, especially the meatball panini, are excellent and the coffee is individually brewed and among the best I've had in a restaurant! Small selection of wines (this is a pizzeria!)... Friendly service and delicious pizza. Our picky ten year old ate almost an entire pie. Highly recommend it! Generous glass of wine poured as well!
