We have visited the Ludwig's Restaurant at the Sonnenalp every June for for years. It is a breakfast buffet. Includes blintzes, waffles, French toast, hash browns, yogurt bar, oatmeal, pastries, breads, cottage cheese, fruit, veggies, and more. They are usually open 7-11 am, which is nice that you can make it a brunch, and not wake up so early. Ludwig's... More

I occasionally travel with a Gluten-Free companion who is accustomed to having to question every item on a menu to be sure that it is truly GF. Our dinner here was superb and the experience was made even better just knowing that we did not have to question that there might be cross contamination! The meal (really each course) was... More

I realize not everyone has a discriminating taste for fine dining. But you just try this in your lifetime. Gluten free never tasted so delicious. However, the taste, presentation and service is 5 star no matter what city you find yourself in. We enjoyed the chef's 5 course with wine tasting. WOW! If you got the monies, the wine list... More

Tried Ludwig's on a Sunday morning. They offer a buffet but I went for the eggs benedict instead and my friend went for the Huevos Rancheros. Meal sizes are a good proportion - you will not walk away hungry. The California Benedict was cooked perfect and included avocado and hashbrowns on the side. We were seated in the windowed atrium... Friendly and helpful waitstaff. Food was incredibly fresh and delicious. The array of options was endless and everything was so flavourful. Best breakfast in the village by far. Worth the 30$/person for the buffet. Excellent work!

Went to Ludwig's on Dec 31, 2016 expecting an exquisite dinner for $215/person without drinks. We were very disappointed. Ambiance was very elegant but the first question mark came when they decline to accommodate a low-salt request: all food, including fish and lamb chops was pre-cooked! The foie gras mouse was so salty and running off the crackers that I... More

Ludwig is actually the breakfast restaurant at Sonnenalp hotel. You can sit in the more formal dining room or the more saual winter garden. Breakfast starts with Champagne and Espresso followed by eggs to your liking, all kinds of bread and at least 30 other items from fish to sausage, from fruit to peanut butter not forgetting , blintzes, waffles,...
