... and old house with a good chef. Food was actually tasty but with a premium taste. The restaurant looked clean but not luxurious which would be OK if it wasn't for the $300 bill. The kicker was their airplane size bathroom - one per sex. I love non-pretentious places but not with pretentious prices.

We had a lovely New Year's eve dinner at La Marmotte this December. The restaurant had been recommended by friends who have skied at Telluride in the past. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere and staff are really great. Highly recommend a visit!

We have eagerly dined at La Marmotte four times now. The first three were EXPERIENCES. From the welcome to the ambiance to the food, everything has always been a pleasure. Except this time. From the moment we arrived at our reserved time, it was obvious the staff was distracted, the kitchen was in the weeds. Everything felt forced, rushed, inattentive,... More

Had dinner last night and the food was wonderful. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. When placing our food order, I asked that a glass of Cabernet be served when our main course was served. Dinner came no wine. I reminded the server and another member of group ordered a cocktail. After we were half way through... More

125 year old Historic Building exudes warmth and coziness. We enjoyed cocktails and conversation with the bartender in the small bar area while we waited for our table. Booked reservation online and table was ready when expected. Service wonderfully attentive. Dining room is small and tables close together providing more of an european dining ambiance. Nice menu selections; however we... More

La Marmotte is one of our favorite restaurants in town. Consistently good inspired food. Special atmosphere. Friendly attentive staff. Ask for the Elderflower cocktail which is no longer on the menu but a fantastic combination of St Germain, champagne, pear liquor and lemon. Refreshing and elegant!

We were expecting a very good French restaurant experience, but that is not quite what we got. I ordered a baked salmon supposed to come with "crispy calamari" which seemed like a potentially interesting contrast. There was calamari, but it was not crispy. And there was rice that was seriously overcooked and mushy. The choice of desserts was quite limited.... More

I don't see how the reviews are so stellar. The service was average and apathetic. The martini was not made with care. The Spanish music was nice, but definitely out of place in a French bistro. The food never seemed more than adequate. Nothing special with any of our choices. Overall, the place seems plain and lacking inspiration. I would... More
