I have visited Pagosa Springs many times, and this is one of my favorite places to stop. I had a Chai Tea Latte and I loved it! The spices were perfect and the drink was a perfect temperature. This is a great place to stop to get coffee and a tasty snack or even breakfast. I had the oatmeal, and... More

After a long day of driving, some caffeine and a snack was needed. Being Mother's Day and after 5, we were surprised these guys were open. Friendly staff, good food (especially the pie!) and great coffee. Also an eclectic atmosphere and very clean! Make the stop, you won't be disappointed!!!!

Quality Lattes and talented Baristas. Ask for a Cubano. It's off the Menu but really good! And most of the baristas know how to make it excellently. Fast service, and friendly staff. Food menu is good too! We love their breakfast burritos, quiches, sandwiches and salads-YUM. P.S. my kiddos love the banana bread and peach smoothie.

Great coffee, very nice facilities with indoor and outdoor seating. You can also get some "good eats" to enjoy with your coffee. Friendly staff.

This place is by far my favorite coffee shop in town! They are always friendly and provide a great atmosphere for just sitting around to talk, or to get some work done.

This shop has good as well as a variety of coffee. They have a nice comfortable and relaxed setting inside and one can sit outside. There is internet. Also, there is a good selection of light food, for example, quiche, soups, salad, sandwiches and some sweets. For those with parties of up to 8 or so, there is a separate... More

We stopped by for an afternoon cappuccino. I got a regular and my husband requested one "dry". They were both very good.

The latter was excellent, the chai was a little on the sweet side. However the moral of the staff was depressing. No one was smiling, friendly or seemed to be in a hurry to progress.

As the town's longest running coffee house, Higher Grounds was established in 2004 with the goal of bringing the country's then-emerging craft coffee scene to the quaint mountain community of Pagosa Springs. Exclusively serving organic fair trade coffee, fresh in-house baked goods, and a curated selection of local beers & spirits, we continually strive to be THE destination for both locals and visitors.
