We stopped by for lunch on the way to Crested Butte from Aspen. After hiking over West Maroon this was a tremendous find. Out of the way down a single access road. Totally worth the trip! The BBQ was very good. I was traveling with my wife and daughter, both vegetarians and they were very pleased with their options. We... More

We were in Redstone, a few miles away, and decided to venture out to Marble, Colorado (named for its marble quarries that produced the marble of the tomb of the unknown soldier at Arlington). The town literally reminded us is Alaska and we stumbled across this restaurant which happened to be the only one we saw so we stopped. Great... More

After deciding to take the alternative 133 route from the interstate I came across this old little mining town called Marble, CO. Came across as in went out of my way because a local in Carbondale told me to go to Marble, so I did. Who'dah thought that Marble, CO has the best BBQ I've had in the country. They... More

Beautiful drive through the Crystal River Valley into Marble, CO. Unique Marble artist works in the Marble area. Best outdoor wood smoked BBQ in Colorado, at the Slow Groovin BBQ Restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is seasonal open usually thru the end of October.

In all of my years of traveling, camping and backpacking in and around the Marble area, I never dreamed that they'd ever actually have a good place to eat there. Not only is Slow Groovin' a good place to eat, but it is literally some of the best BBQ I've tasted in the whole state. It's always busy because it... More

If you find yourself traveling CO-133 between Paonia and Carbondale, in the vicinity of McClure Pass or you're coming over the mountains in a jeep from Crested Butte, then make sure you have an empty stomach and make sure you stop at Slow Groovin' BBQ in Marble, CO. Down here in Louisiana, where I live, people eat a lot and... More

We stopped here after our trip to the Crystal Mill, and were delighted with the service and food. There is a hometown feel to the restaurant and the staff makes everyone feel welcome. The BBQ is well seasoned and perfectly cooked. We were greeted and seated promptly as well as our drink orders taken. We were afforded the right amount... More

After a morning trip to Crystal Mill we stopped at Slow Groovin for lunch. The food was fantastic and I certainly can't wait to return when they open next season. The atmosphere, service and food was some of the best we have found anywhere in Colorado. Thanks to the fine folks at Slow Groovin for a great lunch!

This place is in the middle of nowhere, but it is amazing. Almost everything is made from scratch and tastes incredible. They have five smokers on site and have compartments for beef, ribs, chicken and pork. Everything was delicious and the view of the mountains is breath taking. While you're there you can walk around where the old Marble factory... More

I visited CO for a landscape photo trip in Sept 2016 and stopped here after coming back from Kebler Pass. The waiter didn't seem to want to take my order, once my food arrived, I was never asked if I needed anything, I wasn't asked for or given a drink refill, and when I paid, he didn't even bother to...
