Just went here for breakfast for the first time and man was it good. I got the Sunday Benedict (avocado, tomato, bacon) and can I just say yummmm! The place itself is really cute with lots of beautiful art for sale on the walls as well as fresh bread and pastries for sale. I'm already planning when I can go... More

Quality and varity are a signature trademark for the Absolute Bakery, Macos, CO. Their unique breakfast and luncheon menus along with a variety of home baked goods attract folks from far and wide... a "must" if traveling Hwy 160 in SW Colorado. One downer: they probably had the best buck wheat pancakes in the Rockies, the recipe was changed. Now,... More

The location is in an old bank building and very causal, low-key, and authentic. The interior is probably original wood flooring with late 1800s style high ceiling and ornate tin tiles. Used books are shelved and for sale, and there's a wall covered with crafty items. Baked goods are displayed in a glass case and they aren't typical fare. I... More

Our motel recommended this place - and we are so glad we listened. The pastries we delicious- we got a bag to go. The coffee was delicious and I'm a coffee snob. But best of all, the green chili and eggs on potatoes. It's hard to find a reliable spot to eat in this area, but we will never make... More

Stopped here once for coffee and a pastry and again for a quick lunch. Everything is prepared fresh and priced reasonably. The bread is especially good! The staff is friendly. The whole place has an offbeat vibe that is fun. There is art for sale on the walls, books to read in a bookcase and most folks linger for a... More

Another great meal at the Absolute Bakery! I got their burger this time and have to say it was one of the best I had on the whole trip, great local beef, homemade bun, slaw, and potato salad. I love this place and always stop here whenever I go through, hungry or not!

Years ago we had seen this location but they were so busy we decided to pass on the wait, this time we were able to get a table for breakfast with no wait, glad we did, they food was excellent and the eclectic and artsy atmosphere was excellent, lots to look at while waiting, the house baked breads were excellent!

Spent the night in Durango with intent of having egg Benedict at ABC....but by the time we got there they were out of Hollandaise Sauce AND English Muffins. Server was excellent and I was able to build an "almost eggs Benedict" from sourdough bread, all the ingredients - except Hollandaise sauce - and the eggs. They only offer this on... More

This restaurant came highly recommended by several locals (which is a requirement for us as a rule). We were not disappointed in the least. The atmosphere is a bonus, as many locals come here to drink coffee & chat.

The owner of the motel on Railroad Avenue recommended this as the best place for breakfast in Mancos. He wasn't wrong. A friend and I enjoyed a really splendid and relaxed breakfast with great food and attentive service in an attractive and characterful bakery. What a delight to discover in a small town in the midst of a long road... More

Description
The Absolute Bakery and Cafe, is located in downtown Mancos, Colorado, just two blocks south of the town's only traffic light. We bake and cook everything from scratch, using organic, local and fresh ingredients. It's all homemade: from the eggs and hashbrowns, to eclectic soups and salads with our own delicious dressings, pastas from different parts of Europe, and our own red and green chile sauces in a wide variety of Southwestern fare. If you're needing a quick pick-me-up, we have a full coffee and espresso bar featuring locally roasted, fair-trade, organic coffees. The ABC offers you a fine-dining experience without the glitter. Enter the one hundred year-old Bauer Bank Building and immediately you are tantalized by the aromas of fresh breads and pastries coming hot from the oven. Our friendly waitstaff greet you with smiles. The vintage decorative tin ceiling, a variety of tables and chairs, the local artwork adorning the walls, as well as a great selection of used books for your browsing pleasure add to the unique, eclectic and cozy atmosphere that is so inviting to both locals and visitors.
