Going down the main street in Hotchkiss, dining options look very limited. Then turning a corner to see Zacks Barbeque gives hope - the place is busy, and the smells coming from the front door are heavenly. The decor is rustic but clean, and the wait staff is friendly. Portions are large (at least they were at weekend lunchtime) and... More

From the moment the Hostess brings water to the last piece of pie this place is wonderful. We find ourselves there nearly every week and I just had to tell everyone how we have come to love it!

We spent three nights in Hotchkiss for the Ela Family Farms and had four meals prepared by Zachs. Their breakfasts are excellent. We ordered both menu and ala carte, and eggs were cooked perfectly, biscuits were light and delicious, biscuits and gravy made with beef instead of pork (this is cattle country, after all). We had barbecue for dinner. JOHN... More

Loved Zacks!! We were visiting the area earlier this month and decided to drop in for some BBQ. Immediately we were greeted by the owner, Zack, and felt right at home. The place is nothing fancy, but the food is mighty tasty, and goes great with a delicious mug of locally brewed Paonia beer! Highly recommend!

This place is one for the memories. It serves great BBQ and has old photos of early days in the North Fork Valley to gaze at. The staff is great and a nice feeling when you walk in.

This restaurant is consistently good quality for bbq and burgers. The prime rib on Sundays is smoked so know what you are asking for. I love the chef salad.

Pork ribs were a little on the dry side but you got a lot of food for the money. It's nice to see a small town patronize a off the road place.

We went to Zacks first for supper and all of us (4) had excellent meals. The bbq was great as was the service. We liked it so much we went back the next morning for breakfast. The sausage gravy is the best!
