We ate here for dinner while visiting Denver. The waiter was very attentive and helped us with our order since we had never been there before. I had the fish tacos and my husband also had tacos with the green pork chili sauce. They were both delicious.

A nice surprise. I stopped at this establishment to see if they sold souvenir shirts - as my husbands name is Pete. While waiting for the staff to bring out their selection, I decided to order chips and salsa. The salsa was fresh and the chips were very good, my son ordered guacamole and declared it to be great as well. As a bonus, the T shirt was enjoyed by my hubby.

Really good food . What Mexican/ taco restaurant runs out of guacamole!!!! I mean seriously they had none . But got the kids a quesadilla and it was to spicy for them i told them it was for kids and not spicy . But it was . Also the queso is was to hot / spicy for kids not your typical queso this one will light your mouth on fire . The taquitos where good though . Neat atmosphere.

I’m really not trying to be negative, so I hope you’ll take this as honesty. I’m from the South and I’m used to amazing food, and if i had to do it all over again, I’d go to culinary school. Point is, I have a good, yet discriminatory pallet. This is the third time I’ve eaten a different dish from Illegal Pete’s and have been underwhelmed and frustrated three times now. The meat is overcooked (bone dry), under-seasoned (that’s a complement), and flat out boring. I actually don’t know what this place is trying to emulate, other than a poorly executed, overly American twist on Mexican food 🤷‍♀️ Like, I really can’t understand what people find remotely interesting or appetizing about this place. I’m not expecting a four or five star experience, but I find it reasonable to expect that enough expertise goes into what you’re doing to avoid overcooking meat and under-seasoning food. I’d rather eat cardboard covered in microwaved shredded cheese, because that’s basically what every meal I’ve had from Illegal Pete’s tastes like. Might as well go for the real thing.

Third trip to an illegal petes. So far the first experience at the one in Fort Collins is the gold standard. Thing I love is how they mix it up after you get all the ingredients so you don't get all the sour cream or guac in one bite, it's spread out. Dunno what happened with this one, but the spicy salsa was in the first bite and that was it. Burrito popped open during stuffing, so they dumped it into a new burrito and did it again (appreciate that). Memories from first one was that burrito was as big as my head and every bite was delicious, feel like it might've shrank a little in a couple years.

Such a Coool burrito spot with vegetarian option if you need it. Bit of a grungy feel to it. It’s busy but the staff were friendly nonetheless, made us all delicious burritos and there was even live music; a really good bloke on the guitar whilst We ate. Overall a perfect dinner experience.

Spot on Baja tacos, taquitos and margaritas. You order food at one counter and drinks at another and while that was a bit cumbersome, service is quick and friendly, food was terrific and the place is so not pretentious. A breath of fresh air during our visit while enjoying local fare.

My friend and I came here right after the hockey crowd left, and the guy working gave us free meals because he didn't feel like ringing it up. Would I eat here again? Well, the food wasn't anything special but I didn't have to pay for it, so maybe.

Place is packed and loud and not the most clean. My husband enjoyed his giant burrito, I did not like my burrito bowl. I have eaten more flavorful meals at Chipotle. I really wanted to love this place but it wasn’t very good.

Amazing food! Great for take out. You can build your own burritos and tacos. The ingredients are so fresh. The quest is on the spicy side for warning. It is a busy place and usually there is no parking so you might have to walk a little to eat in.

Went to Illegal Pete’s for dinner before a Rockies game. They have a game day deal for a free drink if you buy a meal. Service was quick, staff was friendly, food was great value and very good.

Nice burrito with outstanding selection/variation of burrito ingredients. Friendly staff. Just a little overpriced for a take away burrito. Mine can over $12 . Excellent taste, high quality ingredients. Gave 4 instead of 5 based on price.

We always eat at Illegal Pete's when in Denver. Delicious burritos and nachos. Consistently tasty. Quick service and friendly staff. This time we added chips and salsa and the chips were very good!

I loved it here! Definitely wasn’t too sure what to except but the food was amazing. My boyfriend got the tacos & I got the nachos. It’s all super filling & very tasty. I would say this place is definitely more of a “grab & go” kind of place, but there’s lots of seating too.

Stopped in here at the end of the night for some food. Big open kitchen that could be kept a little cleaner as the customer can see it. The staff working the counter were friendly and helpful. Food was good, kind of like Chipotle.
