Buckhorn was a great experience. It was much like stepping into an old country western saloon. Lots of animals hanging on the walls. Menus on old newspaper. A wagon like the ones that participated in the gold rush on the second floor. Very cool experience. Game meat is pretty great. I had the buffalo filet and it was great! Be... More

We had the game sirloin tip sample and rattlesnake for appetizers I had elk and quail combo for entree. Elk was nice but quail was outstanding.

Loved the raccoons, skunk and badger in the canoe. The history of the place really is cool. I liked the menus that had the history of it written out.

This was a massive disappointment we went for our anniversary with family. The food was mediocre and overpriced for the taste and portion. Please restore the taste to this piece of history.

We ended up here for dinner having been recommended by the tour guide at Stranahan's Distillery (a great tour, by the way, well worth checking out). The atmosphere and history of the place is truly amazing and well worth checking out in and of itself. The food and service was excellent. We arrived around 6:30 on a Thursday night and... More

The restaurant itself is beautiful and most definitely a tourist destination, so a reservation is recommended. Unfortunately our service and food was only average. The waitress seemed a little short tempered and the steak I ordered medium was served rare and had to be sent back.

Massive display of all sorts of hunting trophies on the walls. The menu is very meaty, including the gamey varieties. We tried the rocky oysters - must try in Colorado. You can get better restaurants, food presentations and quality elsewhere, go here for the history and the experience.

My husband had seen this restaurant on a Food Network (or something) show and couldn't wait to try it. The history of the building and restaurant is incredible. It is crammed full of stuffed animals of all sizes and kinds, mounted everywhere. There are a couple of terrific bears on the second floor. The waitstaff was fantastic - never had... More

Quite the interesting place as the walls of This historic restaurant are full of taxidermy. The menu is heavy on "game" meats such a elk, bison and quail, although all are farm raised. You can customize a sampler platter. The elk was fabulous but I found the bison a bit chewy. The waitress was obviously experienced in serving a large... More

Old west atmosphere, great waitstaff...looking for a variety of meat? They have it here. Drink, bread while waiting, portions are decent. We had three of the Dutch plates with a bratwurst (not strongly flavored....subtle and juicy....need a bit of their special mustard I think), shredded brisket (tender and flavorful, bout a half a cup worth?), pork ribs which were very...
