I have stopped at this restaurant several time passing through the Grand Junction area. I have always had good service and the food is tasty and a lot of it, you will not leave unsatisfied.

I went to eat at Starvin Arvin's on a Friday Night. I ordered the shrimp dinner. When the plate was served, just after being served the salad, the shrimp was burnt, almost to hard to put the fork into them. They then brought out another plate and those shrimp were still overdone not quite as bad as the first but... More

We ate 2 meals at this restaurant which was across from our hotel. Dinner was good; I had the mushroom Swiss hamburger-- big patty and very juicy! I only ate about 2/3 of it. My son had the salmon. He said it was ok. We went for breakfast the next morning, also with big servings. Bacon and eggs with pancake... More

Stumbled across this family owned place. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. There was a lot of laughter coming from the kitchen which I liked. We both had the potato bacon soup and it was hot and delicious. We got cherry pie to go and it was great too. At the end of a long day of driving, this hit... More

Stopped for Brunch. Food average and inexpensive. They do have homemade jams, ask for them with your meal.

The food was great. The biscuits were wonderful and the home made jams were excellent. The service was a little slow we had to ask for refills and they weren't busy.

Completely unremarkable in every conceivable way. Nothing was awful, but also not particularly good. The huevos rancheros was the worst. The pancakes were pretty tasty. The waitress was accommodating with the kids in the party. Service was slow, but polite. Yawn.

Stopped at Arvin's randomly on our way home with my family because we were 'starvin' after a couple days of hiking and camping. The breakfast did not disappoint. The restaurant was clean, the waitress was very nice and service overall was great. The portions are huge and the prices are great. Couple highlights: Cinnamon Roll, Belgium waffle breakfast, homemade jams... More

I wasn't very impressed with this place. My food was average to below average and I didn't finish my entire meal. Perhaps something else on the menu might be better, but I'm not coming back to give it a try.

If you like county food, you'll love Starvin Arvin's. The biscuits are perfect. (The owner was once offered $50,000 for the recipe.) My favorite is the green biscuit, which is biscuits and gravy and eggs and green chili. Most meals come with a huge cinnamon roll, hot out of the oven and slathered in butter. And they are wonderful. Everything... More
