If you come to Boulder, this place is a must. It's very busy, so plan accordingly. The construction is extremely ornate and there is a long wonderful story about how it was built. I won't try to tell the story because I'm unsure of the details, but every nick and cranny is beautifully carved and painted. The chai tea is... More

We held an office holiday dinner at the Dushanbe, and it was the best we've had in a while. Festive atmosphere, friendly server, delicious food. And at a fraction of the price we've paid at more popular eateries. Worth going just to soak up the hand-carved, brightly painted decor. But the food is amazing, so stay and eat!

It's worth going to the teahouse to admire the building on its own. It was created by Tajik artisans as a gift from Boulder's sister city and it is worth taking time to admire the carving and painting. But they also have a large variety of teas, naturally, and an eclectic menu that is usually tasty and well-prepared. My personal... More

The first thing you notice is the colorful exotic teahouse construction, transported piece by piece from Dushanbe. An extensive list of teas guarantees the right flavors and caffeine levels for any taste. A nice selection of salads, appetizers, noodle soups and hardier dishes. The setting with high ceilings and a goldfish pool in the center, allows for traditional seating or... More

This authentic teahouse given to Boulder by its sister city in Tajikistan is a very popular destination, often hard to get into. After a short wait during which we enjoyed the adjacent Farmer's Market, we were seated at a lovely table at a window. The lavishing decorated interior of this teahouse is breathtaking! We enjoyed special teas and a delicious... More

I had the Greek Omelet. It was delicious and comes with home fries and a biscuit. The portion is very generous. I also shared a cinnamon scone which was fantastic. A had a cup of the rain forest coffee and need shared a pot of vanilla tea. Whenever I visit my daughter in Denver, we always spend a day in... More

I love this place! The food and decor are incredible. I've traveled and lived all over the world and this place is more like home away from home (wherever that is) than any other. I was considering moving to Boulder and after eating here, I knew I had to!

Dushanbe is one of a kind. The carvings are amazing and it is a treat to be able to sit in a building that clearly took a long time to create. The food is very good. I have never been disappointed in anything I have ever ordered. The only down side is that if you do not have reservations, you... More

Every experience I've had at Dushanbe has been excellent, and brunch was no exception. In the summer you can choose to sit outside under a shaded canopy next a small creek or you can choose to sit inside in the gorgeously decorated restaurant itself. It's a hard choice. The restaurant was actually made in Tajikistan and shipped to Boulder as... More

Description
The Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse is nestled against the Rocky Mountain Foothills in Boulder Colorado. Sitting alongside Boulder Creek in Central Park, the Teahouse is considered one of Boulder's most attractive and popular tourist attractions, as well as being a local favorite for great food, tea, and atmosphere.

Completely built by hand without the use of any power tools, the Teahouse was constructed in Dushanbe, Tajikistan as a gift to their sister city, Boulder. It was disassembled, crated up, and sent halfway around the world to be rebuilt in Boulder as a symbol of friendship and cultural exploration. The elaborate and creative teahouse now sits as a reminder to the citizens of Boulder to value cultural diversity, global cooperation, and international friendship.
