We have lived in Contra Costa County for a very long time but had never eaten at Massimo until this past weekend as it happened to be located just across the street from the Lesher Theater where we were seeing a show. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely, and comfortable. We were not in a hurry and told this... More

Massimo's was absolutely excellent last night. The things that stuck most in my memory was the excellence of service from the time you enter the door. The restaurant has a large private side room where our group help it's dinner. This was for my wife's retirement party. The waitstaff was excellent in every respect. Service was efficient, the food was... More

It's been a while since I ate at Massimo's and it's not as good as it used to be. Some things are still great though. Friendly Matre d' and wait staff, but our server was very slow. Nice decor, good menu. The fried calamari is still great. So? My veal scallopini was barely average. Ditto for my friend's pork chop.... More

Needed to find a restaurant near the Lesher Center (My significant other, has problems walking, so needed a restaurant close by)Lived in the area 16 years and never tried Massimos. We got out of the theater, and I had made a reservation for Massimos. As soon as we arrived, we were shown to our table. The menu looked attractive with... More

Walnut Creek probably has more restaurants per capita than anywhere! Massimo's is a favorite! Their menu has a broad selection and they have a few specials. The wine list is very strong, no surprise for NoCal fine dining restaurants! I love all their waitstaff as they are helpful and energetic. You know you are being served by a pro and... More

Massimo serves good Italian food in downtown Walnut Creek. The menu is large enough to have a nice variety but small enough to ensure that the food is made to order. The chef does a nice job of making really tasty food that is presented beautifully. The service is excellent. There is also a good, but reasonable wine list.

I have been patronizing this cozy restaurant for over 20 years. It's a good place for pretheater drinks or dinning before a Lesher performance. It's also good for a warm summer's night patio dinning.

My boyfriend and I visited Massimo's. for an early birthday dinner last night. We both had creamy pasta dishes, carbonara for me almost as good as my Dads. My boyfriend had a light seafood cream pasta. They were both so decadent! We topped these pastas off with the Rombauer Zin. Yes I said Zin not their tasty Chardonnay at the... More

I organized a pre-wedding dinner at Massimo for 19 people, all over the phone! After looking at their banquet menus online, I spoke with Max, the owner, and chose my own menu: Calamari and Shrimp Fritti and the Caprese Antipasto platters as a passed appetizer. Guests had a choice of either Penne alla Checca or Risotto with seafood as the... More
