I have grown accustomed to Indian food going the way of Chinese food -- the more popular it gets, the less authentic, the more bland, the same-ol same-ol. So I was pleasantly surprised when Clay Oven surpassed my expectations by quite a bit. The bread was great, the curry (Butter Chicken) was fantastic and the samosas not oily, but tasty... More
When I eat outta town I like to try foods I can't find at home. This place worked. Also when each dish has its own flavors it indicates to me it is more real.
The food was authentic, the service was excellent and as far as prices go, you get what you pay for and everything was delicious.
I would never go back here when there is such a great Indian restaurant right up the road in Dixon. It's OK, but misses the mark if you want truly authentic and complex Indian the way it is in India.I would call this Indian "fast food." It gave me indigestion.
The quality of the food is very high, but I feel that it is overpriced for what you get. I spent over $45 for lunch for two people. Also, I have never been charged for naan bread before in any Indian restaurant I've been in.
If you love tandoori style cooking you'll absolutley love this restaurant. The naan is delicious with many choices. I love the garlic and the onion naan. I had an all meat tandoori plate with chicken and salmon and it was the best I've ever had. No matter what we have here it's great! the drinks are good and they offer... More
Chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, yogurt sauce, rice - all so yummy. Service is polite but seriously and pathetically slow. Slow, slow. They also don't check on you often - but food is great.
I love Indian food, and this might be the best Indian restaurant where I've been. Excellent food, great service. Try the local red wine; it goes great with the spices.
We ordered my fave Indian dish: chicken tikka masala & we tried tandoori chicken, vegetarian biryani rice & plain nan. Everything was good & u can't eat fast nor eat too much Bcoz u hav to savor the rich flavors of every dish. A little pricey but worth it
