The menu is somewhat limited in depth, however there is something for everyone (filet, lamb, sea bass, chicken, salads and great appetizers. I highly recommend the ravioli with white truffle as an appetizer. The salmon tacos were very good as well. The menu has an asian flair with tasty sauces. The service was very good and attentive. The wine list... More

This restaurant has been a special place for me for many years. It never fails. The owners are very sweet caring Ladies who care enough to make this an experience to remember. It usually starts with some beautiful amuse bouche. I can't, NOT, order the shrimp ravioli in the most succulent mushroom sauce. It is so rich and decadent that... More

Shiro is a wonderful restaurant with elegant food. The service is top notch but not pretentious. For your appetizer, try their Chinese Ravioli, you will need the fresh bread to mop up every drop of the delicious sauce. The Fish entrees are always great, my wife always orders the Catfish, obviously she's hooked. Enjoy !

This is a solid 4. The ambiance makes it feel like it should be a 5 star restaurant. I would rank this in the top two in South Pasadena to have a nice dinner with nice surroundings. It can seem very stuffy when you walk in but I was in shorts and tshirts and they still served us. Plus there... More

We went here for our anniversary and were very pleased. We shared the catfish entree (really great) and appetizers. For dessert the creme brûlée with fresh fruit was excellent. And the service was solicitous without being obtrusive. Terrific all around experience.

Great food in a upscale restaurant. Their fresh fish of the day is always very fresh and tasty. I like their dinner entrées and my favorite is the apple tart for dessert. They have a Wed 3 course menu for $39. Both times, I had the cauliflower soup which I like instead of the salad. For entrées, I had lamb... More

The average restaurant lasts 5 years and it's gone. Shiro's still one of the best for seafood 20 years after our first visit when we lived in the South Pasadena area. Now we're on the East Coast but still return to this diamond on Mission Street whenever we're back in town. Whole Catfish is one of their specialties and rumor... More

Very mixed experience all around. While our waitress was helpful and friendly, service was inconsistent. Bread was served (tasteless and dough-y) as soon as we sat down; I'd think you'd want to take a drink order or open up wine as soon as you sit down, but that wasn't the case. The amuse came out with our appetizer rather than... More

We dined here on New Year's Eve to a four course, fixed-price dinner. The beets and cheese and clam first course were good, the entries were excellent as was the "cheesecake" dessert. For $110 a person, the price was twice what it should have been. An expensive wine list.

Thanks so much for your wonderful review! We did want to mention that you joined us on New Year's Eve when we had an expanded prix fixe menu and special entertainment which we do not have on regular nights. This does increase the overall price for the evening. We hope to see you again! More
